ShouGeki GouRaiGan Plot Details, Characters, Revealed
 

When the current series of Garo finishes a new independent tokusatsu will be taking it's place in the same time slot, ShouGeki GouRaiGan! We reported about this series previously and thanks to today's press conference we can finally confirm some more details of what's being billed as a romantic comedy tokusatsu! And if you were a fan of such off beat shows as Kamen Rider Hibiki, Daimajin Kanon, or Garo then this is absolutely the show for you!

• Series premieres October 4th and 1 AM (Garo's old time slot)
• In the Chosinkai world the Hikaribito, exist. The criminal sect of these beings is called the Kagebito
• Existing both on Earth and Chosinkai are the evil Magi creatures
• The main hero, Gou finds himself stranded on Earth with the spiritually powerful girl, Kai Hitomi. after capturing several Kagebito, and being attacked by the Magi
• Together they have 100 days to gather up the Kagebito Gou has lost on Earth from his crash, while fighting the Magi, before the Hikaribito come to Earth and wage all out war.
• The names of the 5 heroes make up the series title; Shou, Geki, Gou, Rai, Gan

Some toku alums joining the series are Shinkawa Yua (Pink Buster) as Hitomi, Yamamoto Shouma (Kamen Rider Saga/Dan the White Knight) as Gan, and Toshihide Wakamatsu AKA Black Condor from Jetman! Read the full Rising Sun article to get the complete rundown on the series!

I hope this gets subbed. I'm obviously not an Inoue fan, but I love Amemiya and I am curious to see what Inoue does when not shackled by the Kamen Rider franchise.

I really hope someone picks this up. With no Akibaranger or Garo left soon it feels like it'd be perfect for Overtime. Especially since Ultraman Ginga is on hiatus right now too. They seem like the only group with enough time on their hands to get cracking on this one.

That's probably because they're always working IN OVERTIME.

These suits aren't as beautiful as Garo's, they seem more.. I don't want to say Kiddish, but they don't give you the same impression that Golden Knight did. We'll see how the show is.

Over-Time usually only subs shows if they like them, though, which is always kind of up in the air until the first episode actually airs. TVN did post about the show's announcement on the main page, so it's not impossible that they may do it. Either way, I hope we get some subs for this.

I'm just basing the OT possibility on the fact that they did Daimajin Kanon, which was itself very offbeat And they did that Yoshihiko series as well. This show has at least got to be better than that one.

I really hope this makes up for the suckitude of Garo S3.

Whats Daimajin?

As I've said once before, this doesn't sound that good on paper. I'm glad the demographic is late night, but the meh actors, Inoue, and it being billed as a romantic comedy (Inoue can't write either well) doesn't make me have high hopes for this.

And then they added Toshihide Wakamatsu to the cast and now I'm back on board. That is the real Ultimate Power of Jetman :p

Hibiki without Toei.

It is a movie trilogy done by Daiei in the 60s about a statue deity that attacks bandits who threaten the village it protects. It was an okay trilogy, nothing truly spectacular, but the first one was different from other Kaiju movies.

The one I was referring to though was the remake TV series of the films.

I was looking forward to this anyway, but knowing its Black Condor in a toku rom com gets me even more excited :lol

There's always the chance TV-Nihon could pick it up too as they did both Garo and Daimajin. Although they're unfinished with the latter and getting through it pretty slowly...

I'm hella excited for this. The premise sounds awesome and I love the suits. I hope it gets subbed, need some other toku in my life.

Overtime have said they won't be picking this up, which is a shame but fair enough since none of them are interested in doing it. Hopefully someone else will have a go at it.

Honestly, so do I, and I've sworn off TVN for good. I do want to give this show a chance, though, even if the odds are strong that Inoue is going to make it totally unwatchable. I still want to give him one last chance. For Agito and Jetman.

Like with anything else, it depends on the fanbase berrating them with requests to sub it. If they think it'll get watched they'll do it.

Anybody heard whether or not the raws have been leaked anywhere yet? This aired almost 24 hours ago in Japan and regardless of whether it gets subbed I'd like to check out the first episode.

I'm usually not one to bother with raws, but I also would love to check this out, even if it's unsubbed.

Aw, the raws not out yet? That sucks...I'd love to give this show a try.
