Possible Zyuranger Cameo in Kyoryuger?
 

Add another one to the rumor column for now.

According to our reputable friend Dukemon22, Reiko Chibas twitter post last month about a possible new Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger project actually refers to upcoming cameos by the core 5 Zyuranger actors in December episodes of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger!!

It's currently unknown whether the actors would simply appear as new characters or reprise their actual Zyuranger characters. Most of the cast is officially retired from acting, including Shiro Izumi/Dragon Ranger, hence why only the core 5 are stated to appear. Though his characters extenuating circumstance may have something to do with his absence as well.

The hopeful optimist in me wants this to mean that 2 dinosaur themed Sentau will team-up for real but who knows. And if that's case would an Abaranger team-up be out of the question as well? Time will tell!

I'd go nuts if this actually happens.

What? We couldn't possibly include the Zyurangers with prominence. That'd remove focus from the eternal godking Daigo, and we can't have that!

Toei should include past rangers, as they did in Gokaiger, more often. It's pretty cool. Seeing a team up of all the dinosaur teams would be awesome.

And then Jason David frank shows up.

I hope this isn't true. The Zyurangers should get their own movie like Hurricanger did, not be second banana in Kyoryuger. In fact, the Kyoryugers should be the cameo, not Zyuranger.

I don't see that being very likely though. The Hurricanger film actually didn't sell nearly as well as Toei had expected :(

You know what's funny. The Zyurangers probably aren't held as high in Japan as they are over here. If someone in Japan read that the Zyurangers were coming back for a cameo appearance or getting their own movie they would probably just think "...Cool" and that would be the end of it. :lol

Actually they are held pretty highly there. I've mentioned it before but not in this thread. Zyuranger revolutionized sentai in design, style and execution. Mecha suits gained better depth and detail, casting the old flat cardboard look of their predecessors. The 6th ranger dynamic was fully introduced after the brief X1 Mask from years earlier died after a single episode. The costumes tried something very different from the previous couple seasons as well.

Zyuranger is beloved by Japanese fans overall and still highly regarded by them for it's themes and action. That's a big part of why it was featured for Akibaraanger Season 2 and whether US fans would like to admit it or not a huge factor in the figuarts being released as well. Perhaps not the deciding factor but just as big a deal as the Power Rangers connection here.

Haha! That would be pretty funny if Jason David Frank magically appeared, morphed in to all his Ranger incarnations, defeated the enemy, then disappeared in to the mist. Sounds like a great Akibaranger episode, actually.

I'm seriously okay with this. A dinosaur themed sentai team-up!? Heck, yeah. I've actually just now been watching the Zyuranger show off YouTube even.

I have to wonder what would make the two teams work together as a plot device though. It's sad that the actress that played Bandora is deceased...would have been a cool idea right there.

Like I said in the previous thread, I'm cool with the Zyurangers turning up as long as it doesn't stop the far more deserving Go-Busters team up happening.

It would be cool if they do show up and Help fight but What about Abaranger. I would like to see King get some tips from Geki

Well, I think it would be a giant missed opportunity if Toei can bring back Zyuranger in an episode of Kyoryuger but chose not to. I think if the reactions are great, it could also lead to bigger and better things, such as a standalone reunion movie starring Zyuranger themselves. I know Hurricaneger's movie may not have sold well, but a cameo will help gauge the interest of the Japanese audience in Zyuranger, and that could convince Toei to give it another shot.

I very much have to agree with this. I am just about to finish up Go-Busters and wishing it got more love than it seems to.

They just need to make him a rainbow suit :lol
