S.H.MonsterArts - Articulation Series
I have an announcement to make. I have been working on a personal SHMA Articulated Series website that will later debut future stop motion projects. I will remain the primary contributor to Toho Kingdom doing the exclusive articulation videos and helping out on other projects. All unreleased monsters, not the past releases, will debut at Toho Kingdom.
The site contains: -Articuluated Series:*Where all the offsite videos of the Articulated Series will be located and published alongside the ones at Toho Kingdom Toy's Review Sections. -Upcoming Releases:*You can view the basic information of incoming figures as well as a hi-res photo gallery. This section also highlights the next monsters to be in the Articulated Series thanks to Bluefin. -Past Releases:*Were you wondering if I was going to do past SHMA for the articulated series? Darn tootin I am, but with your help. A poll will go up for one month and*YOU*will decide which past release gets Articulated Series treatment. -Gallery:*Photo gallery of different collections of awesome monster poses.-Blog:*Stay updated with site updates and other news regarding this site. Think of it as a changelog for the site more than your typical news for the monsterarts line. We'll leave that to importingmonsters. -Reviews:*Thorough reviews accompanied by stellar photography of your favorite monsters. This site is also MOBILE FRIENDLY. So go*VOTE*now on your favorite Past Released Monster! www.shma-articulationseries.com ^(You may spread this link to all Godzilla Fans, or non alike!) Feel free to post feeback and ideas for the site here. |
Godzilla (1964) video posted.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jR1lppJnGM Review http://michalshipman.com/monsterarts/reviews.html |
I love your video, the original Godzilla is one of my favorite movies so seeing the big guy in action again is great.
Excellent lightning . Can't vote right now as my phone didn't react nicely to the site, but Moguera would be awesome. :D |
|
That was really cool. I didn't realize just how fluid the MonsterArts bodies were despite the joint cuts.
|
Godzilla (1964) is pretty stiff. Even while animating it was tough. Glad everyone is liking them!

How did you manage to get their Ghidorah do that without his head falling off every time you move it?

And I tried that solution, but the hole the joint fits into is too big, so the ball cannot stay in it. It is the same on my SpaceGodzilla neck and Godzilla hand. |
My wings are fine. Just to note, Tamashii has stated that both wings should sag for optimal range of movement. If one of your wings are tight you just have to move it to loosen it.
If the hole is to big, then heat it up and put it in the freezer for 20 mins or more with the head attached. This should contract the plastic more so and form around the ball joint better. |
Poll Results are in! Spacegodzilla gets Articulated Series treatment in January!
Also an improved remastered version of the Destoroyah Evolution Set! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtTIUYCk6Ps Site updates included on the link below! http://shmaseries.blogspot.com/2013/...tered-and.html |

If you can suggest anything, it would be greately appreciated. Thanks. |
The wings are technically both supposed to sag. Though I feel, and many others agree it's not visually appealing, it's how they designed it to achieve maximum motion. This is Bandai's official explanation backing this up. http://www.bandai.co.jp/support/faq/...detail394.html

^Yeah, I hear ya. I personally didn't like the issue on my first Ghidorah, so the way I fixed it was super gluing the joint that attaches the base of the wing to the hinge joint.
The best way to deal with it is to pop off the wing, otherwise it's too crammed to get in side. Best way to pop off the wing, get some needle nose pliars or something similar and squeeze and push the part that looks like a flat head screw driver, out. It's what you see in the first picture. The hard part is getting it out. Putting the wing back on is easy. Good luck! |

http://michalshipman.com/monsterarts/destoroyah.html Check out the Articulation Series review of Destoroyah! http://michalshipman.com/monsterarts/darkness.html Also added Godzilla 2000 Millennium to the Darkness Collection In addtion to these great updates, a new poll has been created for everyone to vote on their favorite S.H.MonsterArts of 2013. This reflects the North American release schedule, not the Japanese. Site Updates: -Added a review for Destoroyah. -Added Godzilla 2000 Millennium to the Darkness Collection in the GALLERY. -Removed Toy Freakz from the Buy it Now links and will be gradually replacing Toy Freakz links with Image Anime links. Toy Freakz is reportedly closing up shop, so until further notice don't order from them. -Added a poll in the PAST RELEASES section to vote on the best monster of 2013. The poll will remain open until Spacegodzilla's episode is complete. -Fixed minor bugs throughout the site. |

Godzilla 2000 Millennium Review!
http://michalshipman.com/monsterarts...illennium.html Site Updates: -Added new monster silhouettes to the UPCOMING RELEASES section. *NOTE: These are not confirmations. It's pure speculation based off of popularity, likely marketing choices, and for fun. |
Just got back from Bluefin today.
Some great things to come. *Vote for upcoming monsters that you would like to see in 2014 and beyond! http://tinyurl.com/tamashii-nations-SHMA2014-VOTE -Regarding the poll, they are in fact following it and will be evaluating it through out the year. -In addition, I'd like to note that duplicate votes will not be counted, per the polls restrictions. If by some way, duplicate votes have made a way through the polls proxy, they will be deleted. At this given moment, all votes are 100% legit. -Just because a character has a high rank, doesn't mean it will be made. The poll is not meant to find winner, just what's relevant now. -Pleas only vote for monsters you want to actually buy, don't boost counts! *Tamashii Nations is aware of the requests for Bagan, and now, Super Godzilla. They are officially inquiring about the characters. *Bluefin is also following the S.H.MonsterArts figure of 2013 poll found here: http://michalshipman.com/monsterarts/past-releases.html This poll will assist them in knowing which figures were a hit or miss. |

These are suggestions, but any sort of comment regarding your vote, and why the selected monsters are important to you, should suffice. If you've already voted, you can still leave a comment. |
