I have to get this off my chest: Do they really have to have Daigo demonstrate how to insert the battery into the socket? And do they really have to have Daigo demonstrate how to do it for 12 batteries? Even though I know they're trying to sell toys, this is way overboard.
Aside from the mind-numbing exercise, the rest of the episodes are alright. The best is the roll call of the 2 spirit rangers plus Yayoi, although if I have my way I'd rather have Yayoi do the roll call with the other 6 rangers instead. |
And it's Endorf.
Sorry, OOO, I refuse to submit to your logic :lol |

I made myself sad :( ... |
Well, I hope no one was trying to stay spoiler-free from the movie here :lol
This was a fantastic episode. Torin's "death" was reasonably well handled, seeing Yayoi and the Spirit Rangers again was fantastic, I loved the movie references/clips and Dogold's plan was brilliant. Kyoryuger at its finest. BUT I seriously can't stand Carnival, I don't think I've ever disliked a design in toku this much. If it isn't the stupid costume, its Daigo trying to give a serious speech with Minityra jumping up and down like a loon, the repeated stock footage of battery insertion or just the plain incessant dancing in general. Its a shame, because it notably brought the episode down for me. |
While here prehistoric humans remind me of zyuranger so I have feeling this is in some way going to be a zyu ranger sequal due to the fact how the 6 zyu rangers a re humans from the dinosaurs age so them being prehistoric humans fits here

This episode couldn't have been more polarized for me. On one hand, the first half or so was great. The stuff with Torin and Chaos' origins, his death, his revival, the amazing Spiritranger + Yayoi fight(about that, this series feels really overloaded on Insert Songs. Was that a character song medley during the extras' fight?), I love it. But then Carnival decided to use supplementary Jyudenchi... That had to be the most mind numbing fight I've seen in Sentai. Kamitsuki Change is so time consuming and illogical(you thought Kyoryujin was bad? This is worse), and we get to see it FOUR TIMES. Why did we have to see it FOUR TIMES? Could they really not spread out the use of the other forms over the next few episodes? It's also succeeded in making me sick of Carnival's Insert Song, I don't even know what's it called and I'm sick of it! I really don't even hate Carnival's Amigo powerups design wise. It's a cool idea, and it could probably bring something new and interesting to the fights. But... not like this. |
I'm glad I'm not the only one sick of Carnival already...
|
Damn that was an excellent episode! It was really good to have that quick recap of the movie in the middle, I figured that's where they were going once the singing started.
Now does the way Carnival changes forms get annoying? Sure. But it'll most certainly be cut down the same way the Kyoryuzin's gattais were. Otherwise I actually liked it. Changing the color of the boots to match each new set of arms was also a nice touch. And getting the rest of Torin's back story was nice too. And as always I like it when infrequently used or obscure characters team-up, like the Spirit Rangers and Violet. That was just as awesome and more so as the 3 Mages from Wizard. |
Samba! Macho! Kung Fu! Western!
Not happy with two mechs of his own, King finally became a Megazord. :lol Outside of Carnival this was an excellent episode, they used the movie events and explained the importance of music. Torin's "death" was emotional even if his rebirth was spoiled by the preview and the Spirit Rangers fighting together was great, liked the insert songs too. That said what the heck was with the focus on Yayoi's skirt this week? Previous episode had goth Candelira and next one has Goth Amy, the director is having a little bit too much fun... Next episode continues the search for the stones. Poor Endorf... |

Voted Good. Solely because after last week I was hoping that we'd see more Candelira, or see her once at all, and we got nothing. I know that's thin logic but I don't care :lol Hail Lady Candelira!
Kind of took all the emotion out of the episode when last week they spoiled that Torin returns in the previews, but otherwise it was a solid episode. I loved the music changes when Carnival Red called on the different Volatsaurs, though. And the explination about the focus on music at all in Kyoryuger. And a nice little tie in to the movie. Gives me hope that at some point we might see Tobaspin in the show itself. It has happened before, you know. Fourze used Rocket States in the show once. Sad to see Endorf go though. He had an awesome voice, and a great look. But if he isn't around he can't bogard Candelira :D Though.. I see him fighting back against DoGold at some point, in some way, and making a comeback. Like he said they are similar emotions. |

This show is always a thrill, fun designs, Great music, lovable main villeins (in their own way), and just exalting plots from time to time
|
Alright, so this will kind of suck without seeing the movie. Wish I could see it because it seems important. That will probably piss my group off more then anything. We all enjoy Carnival and feel its a throw back to the other two dino Sentai.
|
The dinosaurs dancing with Carnival during the transformations is just too cute for words. I love it.
|
So, what are the chances Carnival will have Plezuon, Pteragordon, and Bragigas forms?

Actually it was already revealed that Carnival will have a Plezuon combo with Ankydon. You guys missed that I take it? ;)
It's Kyoryu Red TV Maga Carnival! It's where the special clear purple Plezuon battery comes into play for that recent Televi Kun magazine. http://imageshack.us/a/img546/5672/xlcz.jpg |

God, that looks like they literally took the Plezuoh arm off the mecha suit and put it on Kyoryu Red.

I really hope that I'm not destroying any spoilers with my caps, I was having fun today though and couldn't resist.
Did anyone else initially hope that Torin would be put outside a Scottish castle for 400 years to be resurrected in a giant New York tower above the skies by Commander Riker? Quote:
Nope, it's definitely the dumbest one of the bunch, and fruitier than Gaim on a good day. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379621693 The prettiest flamingo of the bunch. If he went against any Rider trying that charge combo, he would get punted into a sun two seconds into pulling those batteries out. It's not only flashy, it's slow. Quote:
As for the skirt...and gothy maid costumes, that's called fan service. And boy are they serving. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379620386 http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379620386 For the ladies.... http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379622048 http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps948607af.gif Even her nails are cute. Yes sir, they had fan service a plenty..... http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379620386 Seriously, Ramires reminds me of the Kevin Smith of Sentais or something. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379621693 Still, he pulls a good Worf impression. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1379620386 Utchy looks confused about what to do with the ball. Yeah. BUT. With all this, why am I still watching it? Because it's just plain FUN for a kids show. The end credits are possibly the best part of the entire series, watching those kids dance like it's 1999 is really a lot of fun. The series is almost spoofing itself with how far past the mold it goes. The transformations, the Zords, everything about this show screams "we're having fun". Even the actors really take it up to that level. Don't get me wrong, I utterly love the more serious storylines, but this comes across 20 times more fun than Megaforces' 'we're dancing in the cave' scene. |

But hey, at least he'll have a new boot!... If they don't take that from the Plezuoh suit too. :/ |
So much fanservice with Yaoyi…good episode but I wish the preview didn't spoil Tourin's fate.
Who was it that said Tourin was going to be Kyoryu Silver? Looks like they were right. |

Jeez, so much hate for Carnival.
I think it's a great upgrade for a few reasons. First off, seeing as Kyoryujin's moved up past needing to use its Macho, Western or Kung Fu forms to beat the monster of the week, this keeps those powers relevant by passing them down to Daigo instead of being pushed aside for the rest of the series. Secondly it's perfectly in-line with what Torin explained in the movie flashback. The Kyoryuger are powered by the music and dancing that are within the genes of humans, so a power-up that utilizes song and dance to its full potential makes perfect sense. |
