well what i get is there more of a adult feel to this and yet feel more like on time line like all other related ryuki things

Are all Rider novels this wtf, or did they just decide go left-field with Ryuki?

They're not all this wtf, but most of them seem to be missed opportunity AU stories. I think W and Blade are the only ones that actually tried to do something associated with the show itself.

You'd think they'd do Side Stories that happened during the show, or AU stories like you said. Not this Alternate vision of the show.

Kuuga was a sequel, too. Had something to do with a second Rider appearing.

But yeah, the whole project seems very disappointing and lackluster.

Worse. Toshiki Inoue.

He was one of the original writers for the show right? Wow. I guess Kobayashi really reeled in a lot of his drastic ideas.

To be fair, Ryuki always did have a CLAMP "X" theme to it and that show/manga had gratuitous amounts of sex and violence.

This just feels like them trying to cash in on the newer anime crowd that loves that edgy stuff like Madoka, Mirai Nikki and Shingeki no Kyojin.

Or he may be pulling a Frank Miller All-Star Batman approach.

Now this I'd watch. Although I can't wrap my head around there not being cards. If the novel is similar to the TV series, how do Ren and Shinji get the Survive powerups? And sorry Yui, but banging Ren doesn't make you a better chracter. But I find the new ediginess huge amounts of possible new subplots and comedy.

Nah decades version of Ryuki is pretty awesome, if only for Abyss =p

This is just Inoue doing, well what he does. But yeah most of the changes sound pointless and a massive waste.

The Kamen Rider trial system is simply awesome, Abyss too.

Another pointless novel it seems... so dissapointing.

Here's a bit more.

It's lighter than Faiz, but still graphic. Inoue barely goes in on Kanzaki and Odin is not mentioned, it's just those I wrote down.
It's telepathy or whatever instead. They just summon things.
Goro's mouth being sown up is because of his respect for Kitaoka. After finding out Kitaoka's sick, he gets his mouth shut so no one will find out about the illness. Hence, why it's gold. Silence is gold and all that.
It gets worse. Yui is Eri's nurse. Yui even says "Ren already has Eri, so he'll never truly love me. But I'm okay with that."
Asakura kills his own mother, 7 days after he's born. Yeah, 7 days.
Femme is treated a lot better in the novel, which is good.
The emblem has a symbol of a Mirror Monster on it, and they contract with the monster. There's 9 rules you must follow once you contract, one of those explains that.

This is just so bizarre. I was really hoping to see some kind of alternate take on the series but not like this. Yeesh, way to ruin it Inoue. Remember the good old days when they guy had more than an ounce of creative talent?

There's an unwritten rule that Ryuki's universe can never, EVER make sense.

This makes four variations of that world I think, and they all kinda suck.

They weren't happy endings in the traditional sense but they played out like tragedies.

This...this seems like an overdone gore story.

If you need me, I'll be waiting for a review of the Blade or Kiva novels. Although this gives me more reasons to buy Ryuki figuarts

I've never watched this show, but I found this thread one of the funniest reads on this forum in general. I had to keep reading the plot descriptions to try and understand what was even going on, I only grew more confused and was fighting harder to control my laughter for fear of waking up my family.

I've read terrible fan fiction for shits and gigs in my time, but this trainwreck is something truly else.

I guess Ren had a one Knight stand with Yui.

I think I like the original timeline better. Oh Inoue, I try to defend you even though I don't like you very much, then you write stuff like this. This is a pretty bizarre take on Ryuki - at least the Decade one had HILARIOUS out-of-left-field ideas.
