The gap in his head is not as bad as I thought it would be. That's cool.

Minus the weird head thing, that is a damn fine looking figure, and he's so cheap as well. Think I'll go grab one from HLJ now.

Huh. These will be great toys until the SHFs are announced. Even then I might not get those if these are greater in hand.

Considering how cheap these toys are, and how great they're looking (I'll make the final decision when mine is in hand...in probably like three months haha - why must express shipping be so expensive?!) I might just grab from this line. I wanna place an order on Ryugen as well as soon as those go up.

Depending on if I catch it on activation, I might be getting him from cstoys. Might pick up the Vinyl just to have a cool looking figure stand on its iwn. :lol

Why not just get him on HLJ? He was like thirty dollars with shipping, add like ten dollars to that and you could probably have him in your lap by the end of next week.

I never think to check HLJ.

They are the first place I always go to, because of that attitude. Because HLJ have shit stock and are really inconsistent, a lot of people completely forget to check them, which often leaves stock left over. I've ordered both my Gaim and Ryugen from them.

Shit, I needed an excuse to buy off of HLJ anyway, since it has Takara Generations Starscream on backorder.

For once as well, HLJ isn't charging loads more than everywhere else for no reason either.

Nope, Pineapple and Strawberry are a two-pack and given their price (roughly 1000 yen iirc) they'll only include the armor.

I guess if they do well, they'll release armour sets. Or at least I hope so, as the figures will become kind of pointless if you have to buy a new one for every form

Well it makes sense to include the base figure with their base armour. Then release their new armours as they are unlocked in the show and if they sell well.

Although what I will be interested to see is how worthwhile the armours work out to be for someone like us, who have to ship them over from Japan. As thing like the SHF effects sets or whatever end up costing almost as much as a figure on their own, and it kind of ruins the charm of them.

And if we're priced out of collecting the different arm changes for our figures, then I guess part of the point of these figures is lost for us, beyond a cheap set of Gaim toys before/if the SHF hits.

On the other hand, if it's like most Rider shows and most of the forms turn out to be useless/shit and or pointless, this'll be a cheap way to have all the forms we like and class as iconic for the character. Rather than the way SHF do it, where we'd have to buy a whole separate figure for each form and even if we like two out of ten forms, it's still two expensive figures whereas here it might just be one 1000 yen armour set and we're done.

Well Japanese imports don't feel so expensive when you consider the price of toys here. :lol

Anyways, you are right, as much as I love the multiform balance of Riders it's rarely used well, and given how similar the 3 forms of Gaim seem to be, this way of releasing them is probably for the best.

Then again I have no doubt the mid-season upgrade and final forms will get independent releases. :p

In other news I'm pleasantly suprised by the fact the bikes are actually cheaper than the figures.

What I'm kinda hoping for is Arms Change comes in three waves. The first is the Base Rider and whatever Lockseeds he uses for the first half of the show. Then a second wave is whatever form the Rider takes for the mid season upgrade, then whatever new forms he gets on top of that in sets (IE I'm hoping that Gaim's base colour is just red or something and his Arms are just slightly more elaborate or something). And then one final figure for whatever final form they take.

I'll be pretty damn pissed if I have one figure with all the armours for the first half of the show, and then I'd be forced to buy like six more versions of each figure just to get the mid-season and final stretch upgrades I like. If that became the case, I may as well just wait for the SHFs for the final and upgrade forms.

That would be ideal. But assuming that only Baron and Gaim get mid and final forms, and the others stick with 3 each, that would still be, 9 base figures and at least 5 add on sets, add the bikes and it gets worse... Man multi rider shows must be a pain in to completists. :p

Luckily for me, right now I really don't care much for Baron, so unless I really enjoy him in the show I won't have to worry too much about his sets.

He was easily my least liked form, but those stupid goofy shoulder pads won me over, at least toy wise, since large shoulder pads tend to be problematic on the suits.

Right now my least favourite is Zangetsu, as it's bland as fuck. What I don't like about Baron is how obvious his suit is. Like his shoulder pads, and his helmet decals, and his weapon are all literally bananas. Like I know Gaim has the orange slice sword, but it still isn't quite as in your face as his.

They all do a good job of matching the motifs without just straight up being giant fruit, save for Baron who looks nothing like an actual armoured warrior and just some loon wearing a big plastic banana with silly banana ears on his head.

Gaim, had you not told me is wearing a giant orange, I likely wouldn't have guessed.

Slightly off-topic: How reliable is HLJ's backorder feature? They say "we will try our very best" to get stock for those who select backorder, but that's not really surefire, is it?

Toys look good, as these always do. My concern is that the armor doesn't clip into anything as it folds up at the chest and shoulders. Gravity may wear those joints holding them up after a while.

Pictures of the figure show that there's some sort of indent on the shoulder areas in the torso, so the guy recording the video may have not noticed them at first. The armor looks more secure after the jumpcut.

Ah that will be good. It was hanging when he first folded it up so I thought it was unsecured.
