I'll start: "Having to wait pretty much till the show is over to watch the movies"

Not seeing most toys in brick 'n mortar stores

This probably doesn't apply to everyone, but I'm impatient and like my packages tracked, so I'm going to say shipping costs(even though it's my own fault I pay them)

The current yen exchange rate.

Half the adaptations that come over.
Having to describe everything as "Power Rangers with blank" for the uneducated.

This. Because I also do it constantly when importing.

And this. Every time I try to explain this kinda thing to anyone they have to hear that or they have no clue what I'm talking about.

Hm, whoever I talk to get everything about sentai just from the first conversation lol.

For me, it's going to a store to look for candy toy rider accessories (like switches and core medals) and finding out they only got one box in and the one I wanted to get was sold -__-

People assuming you're an Anime fan because you like Japanese Film...

I'm actually serious about my friends when I tell them about super sentai and Kamen rider. They're like: "okay, so it's cooler than power rangers, more dramatic than power rangers, have cuter chicks than power rangers, more badass than power rangers...f*** power rangers, I'm watching that now!" :lolol

My friends went: "It's just Japanese Power Rangers. What's the point?"
So I gave up (However, I then proceeded to troll them by calling all their Anime suggestions "Dragon Ball Z with swords/ninjas/whatever").

Oh god, this.

People trying to stump you on really basic things. If I had a nickel for every time that someone tells me that the original Black and Yellow Rangers were Black and Asian, for instance, I would have enough money to buy the Figuarts and Ultra-Acts I am currently wanting.

Another example: "Hey did you know that they made a bunch of Godzilla movies in Japan that they did not release over here?" I'm wearing a Godzilla shirt with Japanese on it, do you think that I DON'T know that?

but the toys is one of the reason why I'm willing to spend a rack on plane ticket to go to Hong Kong and sometimes Japan

*facepalm* I'm glad I never come across that. No one ever tries to challenge my knowledge of things because people know me well enough to know that I know more than they do about stuff like that.

In the same vein, people who quote false "facts" at me. The most common one is the long disproven urban legend about "King Kong wins in America but Godzilla wins in Japan." I am STILL hearing that myth claimed as fact and then folks look at me like I'm King Ghidorah when I correct them.

The facts are hilarious, especially when they're wrong. I had to correct a Godzilla fan over how the films aren't one chronological series.

Oh I can't tell you how many times some dumbass has come up to me and tried to say that the Japanese should stop knocking off Power Rangers :lol

When I explain that the Japanese stuff came first and that WE import the stuff over and it gets re-edited for an American audience they just have this dumbfounded look on their face. Like you just killed their childhood, and their grandma.

The dirty looks i get when it's found out i still like Power Rangers , when the same people have willingly gone to see The Avengers or Iron Man or Dark Knight. I fail to why it's considered cool to like one live action Superhero but considered childish to like another.

Yeah it's lower budget but we are essentially watching the same thing....Good guy/s fight Bad Guy in epic battle of good vs evil....

Yeah, it makes me hesitate about buying a toy due to the outrageous S&H costs I have to pay. :(

I'll add another one: having to wait to sub to come out to understand the story because you don't know Japanese.

Realizing just how awesome a series is, realizing there are toys, then learning that the only way to get them is to rob a bank ('cause you're broke) or eBay.

The perception of being childish and immature because Tokusatsu here is seen as a children's show/entertainment than it is out east.

The feeling I was born and raised on the wrong continent in the wrong country. Why is everything I love from the East while I live in the West?

Missing live events, special events and toy events.

Heck, importing toys is a beast...

The fact that I can utilize the awesome toy shops I keep hearing about in Japan...that and the fact that they're TRus are like, a million times cooler

This I can attest to, everything that you think is awesome to have, they have it in their Toys R' Us, you can simply walk in and pick up Sentai stuff, no issues... man I miss Japan

I hear that. I was stupid for not getting any rider stuff besides my Dengasher in the 6 years I lived there -____-

I left just before Kiva started. What sucks is:
-Moved there during time of Faiz, opted for Yugioh Cards
-Went on a school trip, saw the Kabuto Zecter and Gatack Zecter. Opted to get a Ryuusei No Rockman game and a Digivice Burst -___-
- Could've gotten the Den-O or Zeronos belt, again, opted again for Yugioh cards.
- Could've gotten the Wing Form version of the belt, got the Den-Gasher instead.

You can see that Yugioh played a large part in my time there. Over $100's spent, that could've gone towards Rider stuff -___-

I feel like slapping you.
I'd murder for that belt.

The only thing really toku here is the 2 Kamen rider V3 figuarts and gundam model kits at just this one store I found.

I'd slap/murder him for buying all that yugioh while he was there.

I'm trying to find somewhere that would buy the cards. I have rares from all over Japan and rares from the US. I could easily make a lot. Then spend that on Rider Gear :lol

theres a shop that buys them here but they only give store credit
