Power Rangers From NYCC 2013
40 Attachment(s)
The news team at NYCC 2013 is reporting in and our first look from the show floor is MASSIVE! Currently on display at Bandia America's Power Rangers display:
- Legendary Morpher & Ranger Key Assortments - 4" & 6" Classic and Megaforce Ranger figures - Legacy Dragonzord in box - Jumbo Sized Legacy Megazord - Legacy Dragon Dagger! - Super Megaforce Ranger Gear and Weapons - Legacy Mask Collection - Legacy Morpher - Several DX megazord components are also on display including US versions of Gaolion and Patstriker! It would also appear that Bandai is creating more vehciles which homage other Ranger seasons to upgrade the legendary megazord. Notice the Super Megaforce Red riding a Red Zeo Battlezord vehicle? And perhaps the biggest news so far. The SDCC 2013 Gold Legacy Morpher exclusive, featuring both Green & White Ranger Power Coins, will be available at Toys R Us!! |

Is that.. Is Gokai Legendary Red surfing Red Battlezord add-on parts?!
|
I KNEW they'd end up selling the gold legacy morpher at TRU eventually.
So who's gonna be at NYCC? |
Wow. The Super Megaforce line looks bad. Poor Gaolion/Red Lion, we can tell from the awkward Heaven Kanji that Gokaioh's opening gimmick is definitely nixed and the huge feet sticking out of Magidragon's sides are bizarre. Patstriker also looks to be extremely lacking detail. The keys are looking as bad as they did when they were first revealed too. Really, though, I can't believe they cut Gokaioh's opening gimmick. Like, that's just pathetic.
What's with the weird Zeo zord and those tiny megazords, though? At first I was excited that there'd be a PR-exclusive Zeo ultimate power, but the fact its clearly a retool of Patstriker down to the back wheels being the same quickly crushed that excitement. It'll definitely be toy exclusive. The red gloves are pretty strange too, considering the suits have white gloves. On to the positive, confirmation that the gold morpher will be available to everyone is just awesome, that's something to be excited about and the 4" look pretty decent and I'll probably get a set to keep in box, even though I have the Figuarts. I'm really disappointed. While it still wasn't BOJ level, Megaforce really picked up the ball compared to Samurai, but it looks like they've dropped it for Super Megaforce. |
Legacy Morpher coming to TRU!?
FUCK. AND. YES. |
Still super pumped about that jumbo Megazord. Can't wait to get that and put it on my top shelf on my deltolf with the 5 MMPR SHF's.
So juiced. |
WOAH.
Even I have to admit that using other Power Ranger shows for inspriation to create more mecha is genius. That vehicle Gokai/Super Megaforce Red is riding is a stylized Red Battlezord from Zeo! BOA may actually be making upgrade powers for the Megazord not present in Gokaiger! |
Gold morpher in TRU - Well, guess I'm not buying the Legacy morpher now.
Morpher/keys - Like I said, give me team-specific callouts/sounds and I will 100% buy. They can be repurposed Gosei morpher sounds for all I care. Zords - Eh, sure they're watered down from the Japanese versions but different markets/standards/whatever. I had no intention of buying the Megazord, but I'm VERY curious to see how those Zeo parts look on it. The vehicle mode is a little silly but there's definitely some cool potential there. |

I'd say I feel bad for the people who paid a billion dollars for the gold plated White/Green Morpher... but I don't.
I wonder if there are any SuperMegaForce Armored Might guys coming... they have their own goofy charm. Edit: Nm, didn't see the like 9th pic. Marvellous is jacked up, haha. |
Things that worry me - still no placard advertising a release date or retail partner for the Legacy Dragonzord. And still no prototype or working test shot.
We will have more pictures later on today of some of the newer stuff. The guys were ... well, pictures weren't available to be taken until the start of the show, so give our boots on the ground guys some love for gambling with risks :) |
hell yes to the gold morpher at TRU I hope I can get one, but omigod look at that horrendous Gokai Gun the sword looks fine but the gun is just unbelievably ugly

The packaging for the Legendary Megazord is pretty bland, but eh. I still want to get it for a placeholder until I get Gokaioh.
|
Not to start this again but.. Uh.. Anyword on Lord Zedd :lol

Fuck me. How the spear is held in the Mega Dragonzord is still just the plastic/rubber "S" shape. Damn.
|
Huge thanks to the guys/gals on the ground getting these pictures under the threat of giant monster invasion. :)
Keys: I like the look of them. Hopefully we get some from before MMPR Figures: They look way to beefy for my taste but that's what the american market likes. Wonder if we'll ever get any of the female rangers in the bigger figures. Role-Play: I don't like them but then again, I've never liked role=play toys. Mask Collection: I'm going to have to pick them up. The sillyness factor of them is limitless. Legacy Morpher: REALLY glad I didn't spring for one earlier. Green Ranger Stuff: Super excited for the dagger and the Dragonzord but also very, very worried as we have not seen anything of the actual toys. Just boxes. Will wait and see. Jumbo Megazord: Freak awesome! 2' tall and it transforms into the dino tank. It will be mine...oh yes. Megazord: I'm not surprised in the least that the chest gimmick has been removed from the figures. Bandai is most likely saving a ton of $$$ per figure by taking that feature out. Sadly what we are left with are ugly, black pegs. And that's a shame because it takes away from what would be a really good looking figure otherwise. Also, the weapon zords don't look that great. They appear to be of very poor quality but I will wait to truly judge them until I get my hands on them. One thing I can say I like is the idea that their will be a bunch of extra weapon zords that were not in Gokaiger. That has me a bit excited. We shall see. Overall a decent showing but the above are my knee-jerk reactions to the pics. Final judgement will wait until I get a chance to review them. |

But I don't think it's unfair for people to expect BOA to step their game up at some point either. There's a small portion of that here that definitely looks improved, but much of what we see is more of the same. The Legacy stuff is aimed at collectors, as are the Japanese imports of Shinken Oh and Gosei Great. Personally I'd like to see them move more in that direction, especially since it's obvious that those products sell very well. And sure, you really can make their DX releases look somewhat like the toys and on screen mecha they're meant to represent. But they can never transform properly as they should, which can be a huge disappointment to people. They just don't hold up as compared to the originals. But look at the target demographic in Japan for Sentai vs here. Roughly the same age groups with massive differences in toy quality. |
Really quick I want to touch on the gun/blaster, and while it does look terrible I can see why they did it like that. to cut cost and there is no way they were going to get away with how it originally looked.
|
You know what I take as a good sign? None of them become a Spider. *Eyes Lantern Zord*
|
Wondering what's going on with the little zords in front of the Megazord. It looks like they're using keys as weapons. It'd be cool if they somehow integrated the keys into Zordbuilder, but this just looks like an isolated case. Also, added key functionality on the lion. That's radical.

One thing I'm not surprised but very glad to see, Super Megaforce Masks. I'm definitely picking up Green. I hated the mega mode samurai green mask. It looked stupid. But now we get a normal green. And one of my favorites at that. It may not fit me, but I'll still probably wear it for kicks. |

I see a lot of zord builder possibilities. :D
|
I called a mass release for the Green/White Ranger morpher, sold already. Still getting Legacy Dragonzord to go with 2010 Megazord, and interested in Legendary Megazord too.
|
Do they STILL not have prototypes for the Legacy Dragonzord & Dragon Dagger?
Part of me wonders if Bandai's trolling us and those two will never actually be released. |

Speculation that the Toys'R'Us exclusive Green and White Ranger Legacy Morpher will not have 24K plated gold on it, just vacuum gold instead. What do you guys think?

If you already have the SDCC version, will you get the TRU version?
I might have to. My display case could use a Green Ranger morpher and a White Ranger morpher for my set-up. Then again, it would also mean I have to go buy 4 more Legacy Morphers for the other Rangers :( |

Gahh!!! My mind is imploding right now with all these awesome toys. I will truly go bankrupt after 2014... guess i better prepare for this doomsday
|
The Red Zeo add-on vehicle is VERY interesting.
|
The morbirate/Morpher actually looks pretty good... I just hope the Gokai Celluar isn't majorly watered down like Gosei/Robo Knights morpher was.
Can't wait to go key hunting for this line though! :D |
