Back of the Box Super Megaforce Pictures from NYCC 2013
32 Attachment(s)
The Power Rangers Super Megaforce toys were revealed today and it only raised MORE questions about how these toys are going to work compared to their Bandai of Japan counterparts. With these back of the box pictures, we know!
- The "skateboard/hoverboard" toys will combine with the Legendary Megazord - The "motorcycle" toys will combine with the Legendary Megazoard - By collecting all five Super Megaforce keys, you can unlock the Super Megaforce theme song on the Legendary Morpher - There are NO female Ranger Keys shown on the back of any of the Super Megaforce packaging, only male Ranger Keys and colors (EDIT: Ninja Storm Blue is there, and the lighter shade makes us think it's Tori and not Blake) Check out the images in the thread! |
Good, It dose open up
|
Huh, so you can scan the keys. That's cool. What's the third play mode? Hitting the keys against eachother? lol
I'm really pumped for everything here. Does it look like the buttons on the morpher are functional? I can't tell... |
there is a female ranger key, I spy Hurricane blue XD
|
Okay, wow! The zordbuilder does not look that bad as I thought! They kept the middle lip down gimmick. I kinda like the giant flaps not being there actually. So now I must go collect Megaforce megazords as I plan on buying these now....

Would it be too much to ask for a better look at the combinations shown at the back of the Megazord box?

From the tiny image... I actually think the bigger claws on magi-Gokaioh make it look better. Was a problem I always had with the BoJ version. But yeah stuff looks pretty cool =]
|
It looks as though the chest MIGHT open to insert different bits. But the limbs, nope. They just get stuff plugged onto them.

I hope this is half as good as the goseiger megaforce zord. I mean if it's just lacking paint I can add my own, but if it's a piece of crap like overdrive then there's no salvaging it.
|
Haha, one of the pictures even says, "Chest opens!"
|
But can you find the keys separate? I don't want to have a bunvh of Ranger toys lying around, just want the main 6, zords and keys.
|
One of the pictures says:
"Insert Key", showing you a picture of where to insert it on the Megazord. And then: "Chest Opens", showing the chest fold down on the Megazord. Finishing with: "Store Key", showing an open key being placed in the chest compartment. |

Meh, at least that still opens. Although I guess this means there's no cannon inside? |
I have a feeling that we're gonna have a lot of doubles of keys. Gokai red comes with both the morpher and the megazord.
|
I just realized, wheres Furaimaru? Or is he possibly gonna be later Silvers Megazord?

We'll get Silver Ranger stuff at Toy Fair 2014.

I'm actually pretty impressed how far Bandai is going with the Super Megaforce toyline.
I am concerned that the two keys included with the Legendary Morpher are way too easy for kids to steal in the store. Especially in a unclassy Walmart where everything's a mess and 20% of the toys have been broken into. |
Based on these pics and Kickback's attention to detail I'm a lot for excited for these sets than I was a few hours ago. :)
|
The chest opening is better then what I assumed but that's still just 1/5th of the gimmick it should have. Looks like ShinkenGokaioh loses his arms as well as his legs too, which is sort of lame.
I'm interested if the Mobirates does make unique sounds outside of the "theme song". I might've been persuaded to pick one up if it did, to have one for PR to go along with the Sentai one, but it seems weird that they wouldn't mention the unique sounds on the box. They'd want to plug that gimmick hard if its there, I would've thought. I hope they do end up getting more girls out at one point too. I'm assuming there'll be 3-packs of the guys (plus Wind Blue) for the first couple of waves. |
I fear the key patterns may be generic. After looking at earlier key images they appear to have the same teeth as Gokai Red. Hopefully they were just prototypes but only time will tell!
|
I looked at these pics and i looked at my gokaioh and then back to legendary megazord and i have no desire to get it.
|
Know what, the Megazord does not look half bad. The cycles Ill have to wait to see more on, but man, the Mystic Force mode looks great!
|
Let's make a list!
Pro's - New mechs that can combine with Legendary Megazord - Keys have something to scan for use on an app - Plenty of previous season themes in motorcycles, etc., all of which combine on to the Legendary Megazord Con's - The gimmick of GokaiOh (turn key, things open up, etc.) seems to be lost to the Zordbuilder of "snap it on" - Keys look to all be non-unique, meaning each key is different only in the Power Ranger attached to it, but it doesn't do anything special/different in the Megazord or Morpher Let's keep it going. |
Another "Pro" being that this Legendary Megazord can combine with previous Mecha, thanks to Zordbuilder, giving many new combination possibilities and creating your own "Legendary Power."
Also, I think the lost "ability" to open up might actually be a boon. I've heard stories of Gokai-Oh just opening up whenever it felt like. Lastly, as another "Pro", aren't the keys spring loaded? EDIT: Aww, I was hoping for a bit of difference with the Red Battlezord Vehicle, but it's just a remold of the Patstriker. I'll still get it though, nice that they got some Zeo in there. |
If the keys are generic, then I wonder how that "Collect all 5 to unlock the theme song" gimmick works. If it's just a timer that plays the theme song on the fifth key turn then I'll be quite disappointed. After the Gosei Morpher I have higher expectations of BOA.

Mobirates couldn't turn the key either way, it was just to it's proper right, correct? I wonder if that has anything to do with it, since this one allows for either direction in a key turn, apparently. |
Pro:
-Simpler gimmick gives Bandai more flexibility -Simpler = cheaper for the consumer Cons: -Paint apps seem to suffer greatly -Lack of female Rangers at larger scales -Motorcycles incorporated into the zord forms...again. |

The Super Megaforce keys could be different from the rest, but if the mechanism were implemented to distinguish between the five Super Megaforce keys and the rest of the keys, then it certainly couldn't have been much more to distinguish between the rest, could it? I'm actually not as knowledgeable in this kind of stuff as I should be, so maybe my point is moot. |
I don't see why they'd just make the main 5 (6, I guess) unique.
I mean, the JP Keys have unique teeth for colour (as read by the weapons) and series (as read by the Mobirates), as well as unique quotes for all 6 Gokaiger. I don't think it'd be too much to ask for BOA to have it read at least ONE of those. Then again, this is BOA and, well, look at the keys already. They're terrible. |
I'll be disappointed if the keys don't have unique team sounds, especially since they have perfectly acceptable sounds from the Gosei morpher lying around.
|
This stuff looks amazing. Seriously. So happy to see it.
Damn, Rangerboard jacked a lot of our pics for their use. Their megathread is just a stream of tokunation pics. I don't like that. |
