Ranger Key Blind Pack and 5" Figure news
 

Target has brought us clarification on the 5" Figure and Ranger Key distribution questioning.

This is for the 38200 assortment. This is the main figure toy line.

Looks like the 5" scale is for the main figures.

TRU has 36 item numbers for this assortment. Target has 25 only. We can't confirm or deny anything except for possibly the first five that I found:

This is assortment 38120, which I saw weeks ago, but couldn't identify as anything more than "Mini Figure - Blind Pack." Target has now changed their description to the above. Looks like Ranger keys are coming as blind packs.

I can only find one of these at item number #38121. These are not in TRU systems, but are in K-Mart systems.

This, we already knew, however before it was just "Multipack." They changed it to the above. It is assortment 38250, which I found 14 item numbers/UPC's for at TRU, and only 4 at Target.

TRU Price is $7.99 and TRU item # is 043674.

And they changed this to clarify what it was:

Assortment 38105, item number 38106. This is not in TRU systems.

Blind Packs it is, then. Makes sense since all of those male Ranger Keys on the back of the Legacy Megazord were all under the same assortment number.

There are blind packs and multi packs.

The assortment on the back of the morpher was 38250 for all those keys the back showed. Those are the multi packs. TRU shows a possible 14 multi packs next year, but unconfirmed if all will release and which ones they will be.

Wait, so the 14 multi-packs are all represented by the same assortment number? Is that common for different toys of the same price point?

Assortment refers to that, an assortment of toys that are all similar in a certain way, such as key multi packs or figures of a certain type or scale. Then each one under that assortment is assigned an item number. The key multi packs are under assortment 38250. The 14 key packs TRU has in its system are item numbers 38251 through 38264.

The figures for Super Megaforce in the main figure line are 5" and under the assortment 38200. Every figure under that assortment has item numbers assigned after 38200 most of the time, such as 38201, 38202, 38203, etc. It's how they identify groups of items and specific items.

I just updated the first post. I found a ton of red ranger listings.

Those are a lot of Reds! So if they are 5", why have 4" the last 4 years? I thought that was the new standard for stuff?

And we are going back to 5"...
I prefer 4" but what's done is done.

I found a 4" Figure 38160 assortment with 5 figures, but I can't identify what they are. I'm assuming 2 of them are that Megaforce and Samurai Red.

Probably the budget, less articulated ones.

Wow, I may be picking up a lot more Super Megaforce stuff than I originally anticipated...

The problem is, we don't know how many of them will actually release. The Megaforce line still hasn't seen the individual Ultra Mode figures, MM White, Alpha/Zordon, or LG Red come out. I also found listings at wal-mart for a "Super Ranger V2" in each Megaforce color but those never saw the light of day.

The idea of 20 red rangers is possible, since all of them wouldn't show up on accident, but we have to wait to see if all of them will actually release.

They were doing great with the 4" line and I thought it was really cool how all of the figures from the past 2 years went together well (even if I wasn't getting any myself). Now that's just completely ruined again.

I'm usually not someone who cares about scale, but this move from 4" figure to 5" figures kinda sucks. As stupid as this may sound, my plan was to form a Ranger team using members from different shows/seasons. I've already got a Megaforce pink Ranger figure. This kind of screws that up. Doesn't sound like a lot, but I imagine the 5" figures will look too big compared to a 4" figure.

Off topic...that Samurai Yellow is awesome looking.

The Mega Mode Yellow? Yes, yes she is.
That said the sword is too big for her, and her back has a really weird curvature.

Ah. I'd deal with it just for the pure awesomeness of how she looks as a whole.

Wow... it's even worse than I had imagined it in my head. Megaforce pink would look like a little kid in-comparison... Well there go those plans...

Long as the extra inch means extra articulation. Otherwise you're just making four inch figures an inch taller for the sake of bilking fans out of money.

It doesn't we already saw the pics and they have the same articulation as the 4" ones.
That's the same level of articulatio the rpm guys had, so it's not a big surprise. But the girls lost the arm swivels... I'll miss those. T_T

No team in particular, just a grouping of Rangers in different styled suits. I was going to get the silver guy from this next season, and while I still might, theres no way he'll work with the figure I already have.

Were any of the new 4" figures on-display at NYCC? I'm wondering how limited they'll be articulation wise. Paint I can add, but adding articulation is a bit outside my wheelhouse.

Edit: Found 2 of them in the display, or at least what I think is them. They look to have maybe five swivel joints. Almost as though Bandai hired Mattel to design them. There were only two red Rangers, so I have no idea who else will be made.

Edit2: Actually, now that I look at the pictures closer, all five of the 4" figures are on display. They're Samurai red, Megaforce red, and Super Megaforce red, blue, and green.
