The "What should I buy?" thread
I thought this would be a fun thread to get advice on what to buy. To start off, I have come across a toy store that sells a number of Toku merchandise, mostly the latest ones from Fourze and Go-busters.
Now due to limited funds I can only get either a Fourze Driver or a Gobuster Ace. I've also considered getting the Go-busters camera and sword combo. Which should I get or what should I consider? |
I think of the things you named, Ace has the least playability since the others are role play toys. I have the Go-Busters Camera/Sword. I probably paid a lot more than I should have for them, but they're quite fun. I did consider selling them at some point, but a new episode convinced me otherwise.
The Fourze Driver looks like a ton of fun. Having spent most of my remaining money on the OOO Driver and medals, I wouldn't even think about getting one, but it's also the most expensive(especially if you want all the switches) Personally, I'd probably pick the Fourze Driver if I were trying to decide. |

Fourze driver on HLJ ^_^

I say get the Fourze Driver, I have the Fourze Driver and I really dig it especially considering you get way more noises and features then the camera and sword. The switch gimmick is really fun and neat as well.
|
Considering that Fourze is ending soon, I really think you should get the Fourze Driver while you still can. We still got a ways to go before GoBuster sees it's end, so you'll have another chance at getting that GoBuster Ace.
|
Fourze driver is more likely to become rarer sooner, so I'd jump on that.
|
Thanks to your advice, I got a Fourze driver. Cost me an arm and leg, but still about the same if I purchased online.
Dang these belts make me look fat but boy are they beautiful. |
My problem with the role play toys, is that after the initial excitement of getting them, I really don't play with them at all. I've got a bunch of Gaia Memories and Double Role Play toys that I haven't touched in a few months. It makes me sad, since I worked so hard to get them, but I don't have time to play with them really, and as noise makers I can't bring them to work, like I can with figures.

Not meaning to hi-jack the thread. But i have 4 S.H.Figuarts coming out this month in Meteor , AkibaRed , DekaRed & Juzou . Obviously Meteor is my top choice but i could either get the 2 reds or my first bad guy. Thoughts please
|
for myself, I want Juuzo more. Well, I have AkibaRed on pre-order, but that's only cuz he was cheap. If I had started Shinkenger earlier than I did, I would have pre-ordered Juuzo. Once he's out I'll be hunting for him on Mandarake.

Ok, I'm looking at the two S.H. Figuarts Ankh figures and can't decide on one or the other. The Greeeds are what I'm going to try to collect next so any help on which ones to get first would also be appreciated.

Granted, I don't have Complete Ankh yet, but Ankh Lost is great. I suppose I might change my tune once Complete arrives, but really I expect to enjoy both of them. But Complete is probably objectively the better one.
From what I've noticed on Mandarake, Uva is consistently the more expensive one, Gamel and Kazari are about the same, Mezool too, but I've started to see her for a little cheaper than the others. |
Uva seems to always be at the 5000+ range whereas Kazari and Gamel generally go for 4000. Mezool I've seen as low as 3000 on several occasions. Still need that damn Complete Ankh :(
|
My Complete Ankh arrived two days ago. :3
And he's gorgeous. He has some problems standing thanks to his ginormous and heavy wings, but seriously the wings are one of the main drawing point of the figure. Lost Ankh, while an interesting character, was literally incomplete and that look just threw me off. But Complete Ankh is nearly perfect. I'd highly recommend him. |
I need help, do I want S.H.Figuarts Heat Metal or Luna Trigger? Can't decide, both isn't an option =p so Toku Nation, decide for me?

I really dig the Stealth FMCS set, it's pretty awesome, and the other sets are really cheap on Mandarake, if you wanted to get the entire line.

Hi, everyone. Time to bring this thread back to life with a Fourze question:
I have Basestates, Firestates, and Elekstates on FMCS. I love them for the playability, both in terms of ease and flexibility. Plus, I can lend them to my kids (ages 7 and 2) with minimal worry. I also have Basestates on SHF. Now Figuarts are beautiful, but I only have two others (Gaim Orange Arms and Den-O Climax Form), because it takes me quite some time to earn the money and conviction to buy them. Part of what pushed me to buy Basestates was how the seller sold it to me for US$65 while he threw in Module Set 01, the Stand and Effects Set, and Machine Massigler. Now while I love the amount of detail and accessories included, I must confess that the tiny Astro Switches (like Gaim's tiny Lock Seeds) make me a bit nervous. Like I said, I have kids, and I don't let them touch the Figuarts even if they beg. (Sorry, kids!) Recently, I've been thinking of buying the other Fourze FMCS that I'm still missing. Most certainly Magnetstates, Cosmicstates, and the SP set, though I'm on the fence about Rocketstates. (Meteor's a different case altogether--if I'm getting him, it will be SHF, not FMCS.) Normally, this wouldn't be a dilemma, except that the pricing now seems really expensive, probably because it's been half a decade since these toys were released. FMCS: Rocketstates - US$32 Magnetstates - US$39 Cosmicstates - US$45 SP Set - US$75 To complicate matters further, the SHF Cosmicstates is around US$41. That figure's beautiful too, though it's making me want to complete all the forms (Elek and Fire at US$30 each, though Magnet is unfortunately unavailable). Should I still buy the FMCS? They would get more use out of me and the kids, only because they're meant to be played with, unlike SHF... |
