New Listings for Power Rangers Super Megaforce in Target Walmart &Toys'R'Us Computers
4 Attachment(s)
Let it be known that if you ever need to find something in a database relating to Power Rangers toys, then TokuNation.com member raz is the man you want to pay attention to. Only days after our two different interviews with Bandai of America at NYCC 2013, raz dug up a ton of information in the computers of both Target and Toys'R'Us.
Included in this news post are the images from the Target screens. We've also copied a number of his discoveries in the second post of this thread - including a number of items that relate to everything from Wild Force to Samurai toy-wise. Check it! Thanks to raz for being so devoted to getting the information! |

Prince Veker. That's an awefully good name for War Gills, better than Gills :lol

While it's nice to see so many figures in the works, I have to wonder how many of these will be available at retail. I'm also not a fan of the size/scale switch. Especially since some 4" figures are being made, but with little articulation.
If I see them at retail, there's a couple of figures I'll probably get. X Borg just for the name (even though I have no idea who/what that is), at least one of the MMPR figures (depending on whether or not I get the armored might white & green figures), the silver dude with the trident (even though my plans for a team of mix&match Rangers is killed by the size/scale change), and maybe the Lightspeed Rescue red Ranger (last PR show I watched before Megaforce). |

I hope this 4" - 5" news on the front page is a typo and that it is the 5" figures that will feature less articulation and fewer paint apps.
I only started buying Power Ranger toys again when I saw the Jungle Fury figures and the accompanying Legends figures. They didn't look like they were on steroids and the articulation was great. RPM figures were smaller and slightly less articulated, but still not absurdly muscly, so I bought those, too. Even though the MMPR figures had RPM-ish articulation and were 4", MU and DCIE were 4" scale, and these were the MMPR, so BoA won me over on the scale switch. I've been happy with the 4"-scaled PR figures since. If BoA shafts the 4" line for a 5" line again, I think I'm just done. Figuarts are about 5" and a million times better than any 5" retail figure BoA could come up with. Having really enjoyed the 4" figures though, I hope they continue the line as they are. BoA's 4" figures are already $9.99, so I don't know how they could release an equivalent 5" figure for $7.99... ? |
It could've been worded better, but the main figure toy line for Super Megaforce IS 5". This is where there are 36 planned figures. Keyword: planned.
This is Target's price. TRU has these 5" figures listed at $9.99. There are 5 planned 4" figures on the side, which likely have less articulation. |

I never noticed that X on their chests.

All five of the 4" figures can be seen in the NYCC display. They're Samurai red, Megaforce red, and Super Megaforce red, blue, and green. All of which look to have five swivel joints.
|
Yep, and Kmart and Walmart have them listed already: 38161, 38162, 38163, 38164, 38165. They're priced at whatever the other 4" figures right now are.

4" figures are 7.47 at walmart and 5" are 8.97.
Found more listings from walmart: 38051 Red training set 38052 Blue training set 38141 Red 6.5" 38142 Blue 6.5" 38143 Green 6.5" 38161 Red 4" 38162 Blue 4" 38163 Green 4" 38164 Megaforce Red 4" 38165 Samurai Red 4" 38191 SFX Red Ranger 38193 SFX Red Ranger |
Ugh...not a big fan of switch from 4" to 5". I really liked the 4" figures. But good to see so many past rangers on this list..although sadly, but not surprisingly, they are almost all Reds.

Changing basic figure scale on the team I've been waiting for in this scale...fuck you Bandai.
Meanwhile, we're getting blind packed Ranger Keys...well played Bandai, you still get some of my money in this line. My original intent was to buy pretty much everything, but now I have no interest in the basic figures (The main thing I've been buying for the last 4 years). While there's still listings for the 4" figures, they're now those shitty 5POA with a lot of missing paint (seriously, at least paint crotch!). Hopefully, the blind pack Ranger Keys and the 3-packs will cover what I want for the Morpher, because that is the main focus for me now. Again, fuck you Bandai. Okay, I'm done venting. :p |

Either way it's a better name than I could game come up with. I would have probably tried to incorporate "bucket" or "magnet." |
I haven't really taken the time to comment too much. I've been spending most of my time finding information...
I'll start with the keys. The fatness doesn't bother me much. The size comparison of them does concern me. I would've liked to see someone at NYCC hold one in their hand. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BP3YEbRCQAQUkyF.jpg:large They're smaller, but they're still cute. With the new app coming, I am curious on how easy it is to replicate the key edges with like, tape or something. People did it with the Gokaiger keys. With the new app coming, it seems like things are based off of the QR codes. Again, last year, we were able to find clips to a ton of cards because the app wasn't secure. Curious if they'll keep it secure again. With the QR codes on the back of the key, it won't be as simple anymore to scan it from a package like the cards. I don't have a regular Mobirate, but I do have a Legend Mobirate. This'll be the closest I'll get. The top part not folding out correctly is a downer, but I'm feeling that's a small price to pay for the potential features. I am still thinking it will come with the Gosei Morpher's sounds. The masks are about the same as always. There are 4 I found, 3 of them are Red/Blue/Green. If the 4th is Legendary Megazord, then regardless of whether they come with keys, I'll pick up that and the Red one. The size, weight and complexity of keys is making me think they might not come with the masks like the cards could. We all know how easily the cards came off masks. The hand gear is just...orange to me. But, why orange...er...red? Their gloves are white. Without keys, they are a pass to me. I'm curious if it comes with a feature like the Megaforce ones. Not a fan of how the "Mega Blaster"/Gokai Gun looks as a toy. The colors are just all messed up. I still may just be left with buying one anyway if I want it. I'd personally rather have the deluxe Mega Saber than a basic. This is again going by no keys coming with toys. It's hard to comment on the training sets until we see what comes with them. I am hoping multiple keys. All of the cycles look pretty exciting and they will be welcome additions to my zordbuilder collection. If it weren't for the key and zordbuilder functions on the red battlezord car, I'd consider not buying it. It just...looks like a Dollar General toy. Having the whole Gokai Machine series, I am excited to buy Mystic Dragon, Delta Runner 1, and Mini Zord to compare. The Deluxe Zord Vehicle line has Red Lion and it can almost be assumed Machalcon will be part of it in the Fall. If Walmart keeps adding these what must be Fall toys, I should find Machalcon in Walmart's system soon. Red Lion's design is noticeably off from Gao Lion but that's because the Legendary Megazord is designed differently, using the zordbuilder pegs on the outside. At first, the zordbuilder pegs stuck out to me on the Legendary Megazord, but I have grown to be fine with them. If they left it how Gokai-Oh is, the zordbuilder potential would drop. I'm just itching to see this combinations more up close to see how they look with the pegs on the front. Blue's zord's wings stick out more on the Legendary Megazord than they do on Gokai-Oh in my opinion. This brings me to the Mini Figure 6 pack. Notice how in all of the listings there is not a single mini figure six pack. That means either 1 or 2 things: They ditched the mini figures or mini figure could mean keys. Kmart refers to the keys as Mini Figures. Curious to find out more. The Exo Suits, I am still wondering about. I want to know if that's a 4" or 5" inside of it. It might be fun to mess around with different figures inside of it. I want to know how many people the suits are. They are $19.99! Those aren't cheap. That's more than the Zord Vehicles! Ranger Key blind packs aren't concerning me much. We might find codes to help us. I only found one item number for blind packs. Are they coming in series? I want to know how they will be distributed compared to the key multi packs and the ones that come with the toys. The 6.5" Figures have their weapons designated as they use them in the show, sword/gun for red, two swords for blue and two guns for green. Win. So far I found two Megazord figures, which the first I'm assuming is Legendary Megazord. I'm curious what the other one is for Spring. The 4" figures to me are damn ugly. I really wouldn't buy them. They look like something from Big Lots. They are the same price point as current 4" figures, but they look like less quality. With Armored Might figures, I am curious which pieces Super Megaforce Red is made of. Does he have a jacket-less mode? :P Another is MMPR Green. I've found item numbers for 5 of them, which is definitely curious. The 10" SFX figures, especially Super Megaforce Red look boss. I totally want one. I love my Megaforce Red and Robo Knight ones. I found two red ranger releases of these. One is Super Megaforce Red, what's the other? :O The 5" Figure scale change to me is an annoyance. I would've rather a change during Go-Buster. Walmart lists them as more expensive than 4". TRU has them currently at $9.99 but that can go up. Could we expect 12.99 for 5" figures from TRU? Scary. I'm just a little bothered that they won't go well with my Megaforce figures. Oh well, I'll live. The key packs seem a mystery but they aren't. I found listings for 14, NYCC showed 42, and there are 3 in a pack. Do the math. I'm wondering what will happen with the missing teams. Multi packs or blind packs for them? I'm hoping they are coming in the Fall or somewhere. I wanted a lot more female keys than male keys, but you get what you get. |
