I keep seeing a GaoKnight (and it's the same one, roughly $100, good price for the SP Power Animal, complete shark and Japanese version) on ebay, and since it has the three Power Animals I'm missing to complete GaoKing, should I try and take the plunge or hold out?

Also, does someone have a pic of all the Power Animals aside from GaoGod's components together?

Gaoknight is an excellent set. The full set was a TRU Japan exlcusive which included all the main components of Gao King except Gao Lion. But it also included a black Gao Elephant intended for the Black Gao King set. To make a proper Gao Knight you need the standard blue Gao Elephant. Alternatively Gao Kong (red ape) was released individually as an "SP" figure. That way if you already have the other parts from a Gao King set and don't want to double up you don't have to.

Found another one with the elephant for about $50~$60 more.

If it's the one I think you're looking at, I don't know if that's the official Japanese version. Possibly a mainland Asia release.

I don't see the Bandai "seal" on the front of the box, and I don't see it listed in the Super Sentai Toy History 35 book. Like Den-O said, I thought GaoKnight was only ever released in Japan as a TRU exclusive.

Its was. The only official Bandai Japan release Gao Knight set was the TRU exclusive. Anything else is a mainland asia release as a part of the Korean Power Rangers line. Which removes most if not all the diecast from the Power Animals. I cant recommend the Korean releases personally for that reason. Get the TRU set or the individual SP Gao Kong to go with the parts you already have.

I'm fine with the lack of Die-Cast. I have the Korean GaoRhinos and GaoMadillo.

Plus, GaoKnight has to be one of the weirdest of the GaoMechs. I almost wish we had gotten GaoTriple (or, as I call it, the Tripartite Megazord due to each animal forming a backpack) instead.

But then again I REALLY want to see someone, whether it's FansProject or Bandai as a reward, do GaoTriple, GaoGuardian and GaoMercury.

Gaodevil all the way. Its the one unused concept Id love to see the most. Oh and Gaomammoth. Its own gigantic mototrized battle platform and robo. Oh what could have been....

The Korean Gaoranger stuff isn't bad, but be wary that it's not really the same plastic quality as other Bandai of Japan material. I got a GaoIcarus, and the plastic is lighter and feels cheaper. It's maybe a step above the Bandai of America stuff today but nowhere near the usual Bandai of Japan material.

I'll admit I never got a Japanese Gaoranger toy to compare it to, so I can't say if the Japanese ones had this light plastic too.

When Bandai's done with the legacy stuff, I vote we go *remind* them that Power Rangers wasn't just MMPR. I'd rather have those than a Legacy Dragonzord. By a tiny bit.

As awesome as that would be, the unused Gao designs could only ever happen if a third party of some sort picked them up. And then they'd be big over detailed over articulated monsters instead of the humble transforming bricks that I like my sentai toys to be :(

I would seriously kill though to have them in any form. I just want to be able to complete all 100 Power Animals.

Can still hope for BoA Zord Builder Classic Megazords :lol

Your probably got it confused with GaoKing Double Knuckle, which is Gao King with the bears.

So 25 Power Animals plus Soul Bird were officially made as toys. Four others were seen in the final episode only with no toys:

All other power animals had concepts but not all of them had designs drawn up. The Sentai 1975-2001 Visual Book has the entire 100 animal list as well as the propsed to design for roughly 10 more of the listed Power Animals. They would have been amazing :(

The official main form combos based on actual toys are:

*Gao Muscle + (Striker, Cross Horn Striker, Striker Spear, Shark & Tiger)

*Gao Cracker (an alternate name for Gao Muscle Shark & Tiger but officially recognized separate combo)

*Gao Hunter Evil + (Spear, Double Knuckle)
*Gao Hunter Justice (when in Justice mode it never uses other arm attachments. The other arms were only used by Gao Hunter Evil)

*Gao Icarus + (Antoher Arm Another Feet)

*Gao God

*Gao Centaurus

*Gao Knight

God, Centaurus, and Knight have never been shown to swap limbs so there are no known alternate combos there. But the toys are 100% capable of free mix and match possibilities. There are several unused formations from behind the scenes show only in the artbook. Most would have required a couple news figures, some were entirely new.

Since the mod hijacked my thread, I'm going to point out my username and avatar are both based on what one of the unproduced power animals did. The boar. It towed a cart full of artillery and replaces either GaoTiger, GaoBear, GaoWolf, or GaoDeer when combined.

I wish we had seen GaoGuardian (Peacock, Toppy(Walrus), Wallaby and Turtle or Tortoise) and GaoTriple (Bat, Manta, Boar)

Gao Guardian, Triple, Devil, and the independently transforming Mammoth are all dreams I'd love to see come true.

I just want to be naming various colors for when you do the GaoRanger wrap-up. A hobby of mine is naming where/what/the color of the unused power animals. Don't ask me why or how, but even though those designs are black and white I see them in color.

I can imagine some of them in color. But I believe there's some text somewhere that actually says what color a majority of them were supposed to be. I know I've seen a list before which specified colors for a lot of them.

All that list contains are scans and info from the the same book that Longhorn and I are talking about. I actually have that book and it's very cool to see how those designs would have played out. Would have loved to have seen them happen. And Henshin Grid made up those colors so they aren't accurate either.

I know. I posted it so people don't have to read the whole thread to find out some that we didn't day. And I did say the colours were guessed.
