Let's Watch Wednesdays Week 5 Kamen Rider Blade 13-15
 

Can't wait for next week! the tension is killing me!!!
On another note, I enjoyed these episodes. Finally that Peacock bastard is dead! Also, I love how Tachibana was able to be strong without that seaweed at the end.

While I'm glad that Tachibana finally grew a pair on his own, it's a shame what happened for him to reach that point.
Oh well, Hajime returns, much to Kotaro's annoyance and mental breakdown :p

This was a great 1st quarter of the show so far. Especially with Tachibana overcoming his struggles and Haijime accepting Kenzaki a little more. Although, if it takes one loved one to die to beat a Jack like Not-Neo over there, what's gonna happen when the others show up? Can't wait for Leangle next episode.

Yeah, Leangle's coming up, but you first-time viewers are in for an even bigger treat.

And thus brings an end to the first story arc of the series and what a great finale it was. It is too bad Sayako had to die, as she could have been a great character, but at the same time, her death is what helps motivate Garren's actions throughout the rest of the series, so it was well worth it. Although, I'm not exactly sure how wind power managed to kill her but whatever.

I also love the animations they are doing now for the three card combos, especially when it first appeared during Blade's battle with the Lion Undead.

Then there is just Mutsuki's obliviousness to what is going on around him. He is kidnapped, gets bashed around from the rider belt, wakes up in some tunnel with a whole bunch of other dudes, but what does he care most about? Being late for a date. WTF?!

Outside of that, there really isn't a whole lot to say about these three episodes as despite their hour long time frame, so much happened, and yet, so little happened. I mean, Sayako died, the Leangle belt was created, and Garren defeated Isaka. That is pretty much the main take away here.

Of course, there is Hajime's return to Amane and Haruka, Kotaro's disdain for Hajime, and the Dragonfly Undead, but that is a story for next week. :-p Overall, another batch of excellent episodes and the plot grows thicker as we move into the next story arc., the birth of Leangle.

The peacock is dead, and the death of Tachibana's girlfriend has apparently cured him of his fear. Depressing.

My current list of things in Toku that confuse me: Science and Power Rangers, Religion and Super Sentai, and so far in my exploration of Kamen Rider through Blade, Law Enforcement and Kamen Rider.

And am I the only one that doesn't absolutely hate Amane? Or Child Analogue Characters?

I don't necessarily but that child is rude and her mother needs to control that kid. Telling off Mutuski for no fucking good reason pretty much made me hate Amane for the rest of the episode.

I don't hate Amane. For a child character, she is no where near as annoying as she could be, but she is just a spoiled little bitch who needs to be spanked.

Amane is indeed, rude, spoiled and can be quite annoying, but I don't hate her, because all of those negative traits are intentional, her behavior is never applauded and we are supposed to disagree with her in various occasions.

Just like Hajime shows his best side when he's with Amane, the opposite is true. Both of them are flawed people but they are willing and trying to improve, and that's the thing with Amane, her realtionships with the other characters aren't really explored much so her behavior towards Kotaro, Mutsuki and her mother comes across as worse than it should be.
We can assume though that her rejection of them comes from the loss of her father, but it's not exactly clear.


There's also the fact that she phisically resembles my nieces, so while at points I want her to get lost, at others I just want to hug her an tell her she's cute...

Don't watch the movie then. If you watch that, you would wish that someone had strangled her as a child.

I love Missing Ace, really liked Amane in there, feels like antural progression.

I think this episode should have been called "Evil Knows No Birthdays".

Also nice to see Kenzaki not doing the screaming for once. Leave it to Kotarou. And Tachibana. Poor Sayoko.

And I have finally figured out which person is which. Because they say their names so many times, I have no choice but to remember.

The show really felt like it kicked into gear this week. My thoughts:

-Sayoko's death was saddening, but it was needed to get Tachibana off the seaweed and man up to face his fears. Seeing him take down Isaka was great.

-Kenzaki is definitely showing why he's a great Rider. Being more adept at battle as he gains more cards, helping out Hajime even thought he's an Undead, and he definitely has good head on his shoulders. Having Hajime stay with Amane and her mother is definitely a good idea if they are targeted again.

-The Dragonfly Undead(I'm guessing he's Dragonfly because he shot dragonflies? With some of the Undead it's hard to tell what they are before they are sealed) is targeting Hajime. It'll be interesting to see how this plays outs.

-The three combos getting animations is a neat touch. Gives them a feel of a real finisher. Though I inwardly winced at Garren's because it would mean buying two of his Figuarts+bike to recreate that in toy forn :lol.

-I'm lliking all the build up for Leangle. I've never really looked into Blade, and my only experience with him was in Decade(if you can really count that...) where the series just treated "Oh, this other dude is here too" compared to Blade, Garren, and Chalice. Can't wait to see him debut next week.

When do you think someone will notice the bodies on the roof? ;)

Algo, I hate the movie. The first 10 minutes is cool, but after that, it just spits on all of the character development everyone had in the series. I don't care if it is an alternate universe, it still performed character assassinations. The only reason to watch the movie outside of the first 10 minutes is because Blade has a wonderful score to it that does carry into the movie.

Completely understandable, I quite like it, the changes at the start of the movie had to affect the characters, and as you said it's AU.

But this is not the place for this conversation.

I may joke a lot, but I agree that these three episodes represent some very well done writing and character development. Particularly in how Kenzaki is showing his more humane and compassionate side. Even Hajime has become more human than he understands. And I'm sorry to see Sayoko get killed. She was more useful than Wizard's Koyomi on a good day.

The three card combos are pretty sweet, but I liked that it mimics a lot of the prior rider finishers.

I'm totally watching the next three this weekend before Wednesday. Cannot wait.

So much development in these episodes, pumped up for next week we we will finally get all four riders together. Let's hope the first three riders will work together some more and see sum awesome combos. I have a feeling that Leangle won't play nice for a bit, but part of this show is a battle royal were it can be anyone vs anyone, but all the riders so far do seem like good people at the end of the day.

Good set of episodes. Liking the three card 'tricks' for want of a better word, for the finishers, the animation's kinda cool, but a little unnecessary I think.

Love that Tachibana's back, and got his revenge on Isaka, but Sayoko! Well, from fear to anger/grief I guess. The character building so far in this show has been excellent.

So, I guess the Dragonfly Undead is a new commander from the way he actually communicated with Hajime? Looking forward to finding out exactly why he's targeting Hajime, and also how exactly he knows about Amane and Haruka come to that.

So I'm guessing Chief was being mind-controlled by Isaka, so will everyone who was under his control just come to their senses now? Guess we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out. What will become of the Leangle buckle with Isaka out of the picture, and just who will become Leangle? Basketball dude, or was that all just a red herring?

So yeah, lot's of questions raised in these episodes, along with the closure to some of the sub-plots, but its the unanswered questions that just keep me hungry for more! (as long as they actually get answered at some point that is, this isn't Decade) Bring on next Wednesday!

Just watch the opening credits. Leangle has been in them since episode 1. :D

FINALLY Garren does something cool! He is getting good. Plus the fourth Rider is fixing to show up, cant wait!
