Oh god how I loved the ending to go-busters.
After starting the show and loosing track of it after mission 20 and staring to watch kyoryuger I decided to track the rest of go-busters down.
I just sat through the last 30 missions. The messiah storyarc culminating the best giant robot fight I could imagine, and the plot twists from ep 48-50 were amazing. I Am so sorry I ever doubted you go-busters.
You may have had some rough edges but MAN was it worth the pay off.
From mission #1 to mission #50, it was a rollicking ride.

Thanks go-busters. I would have no other Sentai as my No1.

Go-Busters is lovely from start to end, I just adore it. It has it's flaws but overall it did so many things right.

Best mech fights ever.

Gokai vs GB is good, it didn't quite click with me, but objectively speaking it's good. Returns is completely hilarious but it's an AU movie, not a true epilogue.

That sucks about it not being an epolouge. Fingers crossed for a Kyoryuger corssover.
Also I teared up all throughout mission 49 and 50.

Yeah it's something of a letdown, but it's compeltely and utterly hilarious, quite fun if a little pointless.

Go-Busters wasn't quite the best sentai ever, but I still love it. It had one of the best V-Cinemas, after all.

Man I loved Go-Busters. Great characters, solid mecha designs in the Ace, Beet, and Li-Oh, Enter is probably one of the best sentai villains ever, and Jin & J just make the show for me. Those 2 are fantastic and Jin's death made me shed manly tears of manliness.

I was not a fan of this series, but I only watched, like, 3 episodes before quitting. I could probably weather the entire series via marathon if I tried, but I was just bored when I tried watching it as it aired.

However, after Kyoryuger and the possibility of [Not up for spoiler marking, but everything surrounding Torin and Kyoryusilver], I might just be less critical than I was initially should I try to watch it again.

It's not my no1 Sentai, but it's top tier for sure. And had the best villain ever.

I could never make it beyond the midway through the first episode. I'll be honest :lol

I dunno why the first half is considered the bad half, as the first half is all I've seen and I adore it. And if the second half is meant to be better, I can't wait.

I like it the least of the series I've watched, but that amounts to 4 shows. And one of them is Geki. And the other two are level pegged (Goseiger and Gokaiger). So yeah...

It was a pretty fun ride, and I really like the mecha. Just the overall plot fell really short for me and just became a big 'meh'. I also don't really get the love for Enter, apart from his badass final form, I didn't find him that interesting.

EDIT: oh and for the record, Gokaiger and Goseiger weren't that great story wise either =p

Since I've almost finished the second season of GARO, I might pick Go-Busters back up and finish it.

Gorisaki Banana... Enough said.

I'm not that picky with the overall writing of a series anyway. As long as it's at least half as well-written as Shinkenger I'm fine with it.
Goseiger and Go-Busters were overall a bit better than Gokaiger, but Gokaiger had all the re-writing for the cameos, so you can't blame the writers for losing overview here.
And Goseiger and Go-Busters both have a somewhat weak start and a very good second half. Though Goseiger has the better finale :P

Aaanyway, Go-Busters is great in it's own way, even though it's far from excellent.

Well, if it's any consolation, of the Sentai that I've finished, I consider Gokai to be the worst...

And yet you have GokaiRed Rarity. :D

As I said in the Pony thread, I like Rarity more than I dislike Gokaiger :p

Fair enough. Watch what you say, Gokaiger is one of my favourite Sentai! :p

It probably would've been better if they didn't make Marvelous the same character as Tsukasa.
They were practically identical, except Marvelous was a bit toned down. :I

No, no! Marvelous was not Tsukasa. Marvelous seemed cheerful most of the time, and Tsukasa was content to sulk throughout the majority of his scenes.

No, it's fine. I'm used to people ignoring Go-Busters and talking about how Gokaiger is so much better. :I

I'll need to give Go-busters another try. It's become like a cult favourite around here. :D

Mainly in the sense that he'll act careless and aloof towards the people he helps, but will do the right thing in the end.
That and my most recent exposure to him was the exact same story they use for Decade.
"The Anniversary series character who can transform into past characters have turned evil! Oh wait, it was a bait and switch that reveals they were secretly good during the final 3rd of the movie and had a plan that they couldn't tell anyone else because it was super secret guys!" (Which may be why I see Marvelous as closer to Tsukasa, since he's not allowed to smile in the movies)
I'm pretty damn skippy they used that same bait and switch plot for every appearance Decade has made outside of his actual series and Let's Go...

If it's any consolation, I talk about how terrible Gokaiger was.

I honestly don't think I could choose between Go-Busters, Gokaiger, Gekiranger, Gaoranger, Boukenger, or Dekaranger. My 6 favorite shows with no clear winner.

And before anyone goes off on how I could possibly like them equally, each of those shows has different traits, qualities, characters, and plot executions. For me it's hard to compare them to one another. So I like each of them for different things, things that don't necessarily make them higher or lower than the others in my eyes.

While I understand that Go-Busters tried to break free of the trappings of Super Sentai to a certain extent and I will commend them on that merit overall it was a bland series for me. Jin and J as well as Enter were the real stars, although Blue Buster has good points about him as well.

Yellow I think was hurt by how she was written on the show and Red... oh sweet Georgia ice tea Red was so boring to me!

So in the end I'll give it a 2 out of 4.

Go-Busters is by far not one of my favorite sentai but I really enjoyed it while it aired. The Mecha fights are by far the best I saw in sentai an Jins story was really cool.

The only gripes I had with the show were Yoko, Escape and the forced rivalry between enter and hiromu. Also I wasnt a big fan of the really really lame pose downs. Glad that the one in Kyoryuger is much more energetic.

So is Go-busters worth picking up from where I left? (Shortly after Beet and Stag Busters' introduction) How are the toys?

I'd say so, J and Jin are a great duo, and the episodes after their introduction is a step up from the previous ones.
Plus due to having two major arcs, it doesn't drag as much as other shows.

I can't talk much about the toys, but Minipla Ace is very fun.

It only get better from there. Once you hit 36 shit hits the fan.
Also the toys are very blocky and non poseable but the minipla are a blast due to the ports all over those suckers!

Blocky and non-poseable are fine. They just have to transform in a fun way, and most importantly, be solid!
