Watching Fourze now, but what else should I watch?
 

Kamen Rider Fourze is my first jump in to Japanese Kamen Rider (yes, I admit to watching and enjoying America's version Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight). But what other Kamen Rider series from the past should I watch that I'll enjoy?

Kamen Rider Kabuto is probably the most basic Rider series, excellent for beginners. And its even been dubbed into English!

Kamen Rider W features the best writing & characters I've seen in a Rider series to date.

OOOs is a personal favorite; its not as epic or as well-written as the last two but still had a lot of fun elements.

Kamen rider W and Decade

I've heard Decade is a clusterf*ck ... and that you won't enjoy it nearly as much if you haven't seen previous incarnations of Kamen Rider (kind of like Gokaiger) ... is that a truthful statement?

Its enjoyable enough without seeing the others but yeah, it does kinda go downhill as it goes on.

Pretty much, yeah. I wouldn't use it as a jumping-off point.

W and OOO are really approachable. I've gotten non-dork friends into them.
And I don't really know what to say about Decade. I started with that, and here I am now, so I don't think it gave me the worst impression of the series.

yeah decade was my starting point as well and i loved it

The advice I always give is as follows:

If you like something more light-hearted and slapstick, Den-O
If you like something more dramatic, Kabuto
If you want in-between, Double

Eventually you should also watch Agito which is my hands down favorite, but the cinematography is a little aged so you'll want to work up to it first.

Pretty much what Omegus said, those 3 are my top 3 rider shows (In order, W, Kabuto, Den-O) and you should give them all a watch in time.

I'm with Omegus. Den-O is great comedy. Honestly I'd say it's either my second favorite series or my number one. Honestly it's a tossup with W for me. And Decade is an easy 3rd place. Den-O just has some kind of crazy extra flare about it that makes it wildly enjoyable.

I LOVED Decade. It was my first Kamen Rider series (there is a Sentai crossover episode too).

Double was the best I've seen. Such a great show!

W has some of the best writing and characters in any tv show, not just toku. It's funny, action-packed, and doesn't fall into the trap of just being a monster-of-the-week show.

Decade is also good, but gets very confusing in places unless you've watched other series/read TV Tropes for the series.

I'm not even halfway through it, and it's shaping to be one of my favorite TV shows, period.

Black, Kuuga, Kabuto, Den-o, W(Double)

If you're already into tokusatsu, Decade isn't something to "start" with. It's good for people who can't tell the difference between a Shinkenger and a Samurai ranger, because it's mindless, action-filled nonsense, but it sucks to someone who's watched any other Kamen Rider show even once because it's mindless, action-filled nonsense.

I liked it, though, but I like everything, including Den-O and Faiz, at the same time.
