Power Rangers Megaforce Episode 16 "Rico the Robot" Discussion!
The Megaforce Rangers encounter another Metal Alice construct! And this one... Wants to be human?! Can the Rangers help him discover humanity before Metal Alice uses him for destruction?!
IT'S MORPHIN' TIME! GOGO MEGAFORCE! GOGO DISCUSSION! |
So then! Looks like Vrak-Boy is one of the Princes of the Zangyack Empire, and old Malkor works for them. And apparently needs to defeat the rangers and conquer Earth before they arrive. I love it, I love everything about it, I want more of it. Also means that, yes, we'll see more Vrak in Super Mega. Which can only mean more American Exclusive footage!
Other than that this episode was a throw-away :lol |
A quote from the nostalgia critic comes to mind with this episode.
"How is it that in a cast this colorful the only one i'm feeling anything for is the lifeless robot!?" Seriously i like Rico. |
this episodes proves why i don't like gia
rico had more emotion than her, god she was such a jerk during this episode other than her, the episode was really good |
I did Not like this ep at all. Making friends with a killer Robot. The Pink Ranger all must got every one killed like 3 times. Just 3 more ep's to go. Then we can wait for super megaforce.

Rico survived? That was a nice little twist on the Goseiger episode.
Not an amazing episode by any means but I've seen far worse "rangers befriend monster" episodes. The most interesting aspect of this was Vrak though - I wonder what his position in the Empire is if he's been forced to work under Malkor while his brother is apparently spoiled and pampered. This could lead to some interesting dynamics in Super Megaforce. |

Argh, I missed the first half of this episode since I was distracted by football, and it seems that was the good half. >_<
Especially since I missed all the setup with Rico, so it made the desire to save him kinda weird. Still, an episode where the monster is instead saved is a nice change of pace. I doubt he'll ever show up again in the future though. |

This episode was like if Blade Runner was penned by Stephenie Meyer, so it was so bad, it was just bad, not even amusing. Although still, somehow, amazingly, not the worst episode of this show.
Emma was so fucking annoying this episode as well, what was all this about her aim? Is she suddenly an amazing marksman because she takes photos or something? That is retarded. Although not as retarded as the fact that she basically comes across as the PG-13 version of the Overly Attached Girlfriend meme. About the only nice thing I have to say is the giant stuff was pretty well integrated, but it was still pretty shitty there as well. |

Also, I think that Vrak is also going to be Warz gill. |

I have to admit - the writing in this episode was pretty bad. Let's explore really quick:
Emma: We can't hurt Rico, he's not evil! Emma: Rico is our friend, we can't hurt him! Emma: I can't use my lightening technique, what if I hurt Rico? Emma: Okay, we have to destroy him. Emma: No, we can't hurt Rico! The fact she went from insisting that Rico can't be hurt, to literally changing her mind with a single sentence of, "Okay, we have to stop him" ... what?! I didn't see Goseiger, but it would appear in Goseiger Rico blows up in the sky. But maybe that's just the source footage being cut and spliced so much it got confusing. I mean, they were cutting to Sentai footage of Rico standing there when they were playing with him in the park. Lazy. |

So I'm assuming the editing is as choppy as ever from people's reactions. I was re-watching early episodes and in one (the illness one) they had the Sentai footage battle, which ended with them blowing up the monster with the Mega Blaster, then switched to American footage for about 5 minutes, in which they left the area and Noah used Jake's axe to free humans and they all had a conversation of patting each other on the back and then it switched back to Sentai footage, where they were still standing right in front of the monster, which was still in process of exploding, holding the assembled Mega Blaster. It was pretty damn sloppy and I hoped they had improved. You didn't get that bad choppy editing pre-Neo Saban, so I don't expect it here. |
Alright, watching this since I missed it, so Gia is being stubborn, and she acted like she didnt give a shit when Rico mentioned Jake liked, her reaction was- "Whatever, I dont care"
So this was an okay episode. |
