Happy Birthday Gojira!!! (Godzilla)
1 Attachment(s)
59 years ago today, the birth of one of the most recognized icon in Tokusatsu was born.
Since 1954, Toho Co.. Ltd. has produced over 28 films, he also appeared in video games, novels, TV series and now leads the Tamashii Nation's S.H. MonsterArts line for Bandai. A force to be reckoned with, Godzilla has roared his way to a legendary status in the world of pop culture. Let's take a moment and wish Godzilla a well deserved happy birthday, and with another film to bear his namesake is on the horizon, let's recall your first Godzilla experience. |
Happy birthday oh mighty king of BA monsters. As for my first Godzilla? I'm not 100% sure but my earliest memory's is of the Hannah baraba cartoon. My first movie I think was ether rodan or Godzilla 2000, i can't remember witch i saw first.
edit: I think today after work I will go watch the first 1954 film. Other would do the same. |
Godzilla shares the same birthday as my wife. Coincidence? I think not...
My first experience was watching a marathon on TV as a very young child. Godzilla vs Megalon was my favorite. I fell in love with Jet Jaguar as well. I will always prefer showa superhero Godzilla for that reason. |

Yay! Happy Birthday big G!
Up to this day the original one is one of my favorite movies. :D |
Happy Birthday Godzilla!!!!!!!! Too bad i don't remember my first memories.
|
Happy Birthday! :D
My first memory of a Godzilla movie is Godzilla Vs. Mecha Godzilla (Or Terror of Mecha Godzilla), but other early memories include Vs. Megalon, Mothra Vs. Godzilla, and Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster. I love Godzilla. Even the painfully cheesy movies like Vs. Megalon and Son of Godzilla :lol |

My first experience would be... I honestly can't remember. Seriously, Godzilla is like Spongebob! You don't remember when you first met him, all you know is that it was when you were very young. Godzilla, (like a lot of iconic fictional characters) has more or less always been there and as far as I can tell always will. Happy birthday Godzilla, the one true king! :D

Happy birthday to the one monster king! Long live Godzilla!
My first memory is one I can't actually recall myself, but it was the gateway to a lifetime of adoration for the Big G. The way my parents tell the story, I was about two years old and wandering around the living room while they were channel-surfing. At some point, they flipped the TV to an unknown Godzilla movie. The sight of the giant monster stopped me in my tracks and I was immediately riveted. You know those moments that change your life forever? That was absolutely my first. Quote:

I was lucky enough to see "Godzilla 2000" in theaters. I know its far from a classic but that design is what I always think of when it comes to the King of The Monsters.
and Gareth Edwards, wherever you are, PLEASE don't screw up the new film.... |
I know life wouldn't be the same without the big guy.My favorite movie character of all time.Happy Birthday Godzilla!

I actually felt many of the human scenes to be out of place. The fights were nice, but they ultimately didn't have much to do with anything (Though, them taking out Ebirah was cool). If you want a stand alone Godzilla movie to check out and you grow too impatient to wait fro the upcoming movie, can't go wrong with the original Gojira. |

The human scenes of Final Wars aren't so special, and the Ebira one happens rather early on anyways. Gojira is simply great. |
Happy 59th Gojira/Godzilla!!!! WOO!!!!!

But I will agree that the Ebira scene was super awesome. |
Happy Birthday ya big lizard. :)

One of my fondest memories is attending a birthday party where a Godzilla film was playing. We tore it to pieces, and I ended up making prank calls where I pretended that water from the fridge had essentially inebriated me. Good times.

Happy B-day big G!

My first experience with Godzilla came from when we used to live in Orlando. The let you rent movies for a week, and all it cost you was a dollar, so we went in there once a week and were allowed to choose one movie each. (This is also how I first discovered Doctor Who and the awesome that is Tom Baker). And one of the movies I chose was Godzilla. If I'm not mistaken it was Godzilla vs Monster Zero. King Ghidorah. And I fell in love with that big green bundle of hostility.

Happy Birthday GODZILLA!!!
I've loved you since I was little - having to go library rent (crappy, defective, smelly) VHS tapes. Then, moving up when Blockbuster started having DVD's. Now I have them and love it. :) Thanks for all you've done and will hope to do - GODZILLA FOREVER!!! |
Is it bad that I know about Godzilla more from Destroy All Monsters Melee(and Unleashed) than the movies?
