As more info becomes available about the 2014 sentai, Resha Sentai ToQger, post your thoughts rampant rumors and confrimed info here

Currently we know or estimate the show to be train themed in some fashion based on it's title. Resha roughly translating to "vehement car", tokyu meaning "limited express train".

I'll start with a bit of speculation:
They'll have locomotives from around the world, with some being the classy passenger locomotives and others industrial workhorses.
The Power Rangers Version will have a hard time working with Trains as the main zords.

The first set of rumors from a few weeks back was that they were a set of rescue teams.

Their rescue vehicles stayed in trains and there were 3 teams from memory it was Water, Air and Ground rescue. 3 members in each.

The more recent rumors from around 2 days ago were

- a female yellow again
- the first robot is the combined version of 5 smaller robots
- I used google translate and it kept referring to their transformation equipment as wallpaper? *Shrugs*
- gimmick may involve coins and cards
- They are some sort of police force not rescue force

damn you google translate!

This is relevant to my interests.

Police trains eh? I can dig it. The coins totally make sense too. Though that keychain image may simply be blacked out mini figures or something I could totally see them being train tokens.

the Press conference will most likely be on the 6th of December (Japan time) with a small event on the 5th for toy retailers to come to bandai to look at the new toys and designs. (This is where we got that comment about the bandai executive calling Go-busters too dark and that's why the toys didn't sell)


I haven't seen any rumors about staff but I don't think Kobayashi will be back as Jojo Part 3 is starting soon and I think she is writing the adaption

Rescue theme? Cards? Next thing we know JAM Project will do the opening.

I'm worried as Toei is still setting the every other year is a good Sentai trend. And since Kyoryu is good, I fear next year's is going to be bad. I really hope to be wrong though, but every time I say that, I am not. I also hope that if trains is the theme, they do it right. However, right now, I want something as serious as GoGoV or just a new parody like CarRanger. One or the other, not a mixed bag.

You know there's a picture in this PLEX How to Draw book I have that shows how a single train can become an impressive robot with multiple cars. I really need to scan it. Because I'm also hoping that each Sentai gets his/her own complete robot. Like Kakuranger/Shogun Megazord. Or more like the Rescue Turbos that had vehicle and robot. We haven't had one of those for a while.

I'm just happy for Kyoryuger to be over, so I can get back into the current sentai again. As for the rumours bouncing around... I already loved Rescue Force and that show had an impressive budget for an 'other' series, so this has a lot to live up to.

I wonder what Toei has in Store this time. Will they go with something more dark in serious after the colorful Kyoryugers or will they keep up their current style?

I just want Whistle Henshin if it really is train themed.

I hope these Rangers aren't Cross Country as they'd always be late, or just never turn up at all. (I have no idea who will get this joke being most of you are American).

My hope is we get a fun transformation. Something like JRX/Rail Racer from Transformers Car Robots/Robots in Disguise. Something interesting.

That's a little complex for Sentai.

Though I'm curious about the scans of the Train mecha ideas.

The concept of trains stems from the name, not any confirmed pictures, I thought.

There's a design in the mecha book that's a train not related to any series.

THAT concept.

Okay. But it has nothing to do with this series.

It would give us some idea of what any possible train mecha could look like.

As cool as the Supertrain Megazord is, I want to see something more like the Kyoryuger and Go-Onger combinations for this.

And rumors about the mecha gimmick for this season? For the last five years we've had batteries, multiple modes, treasure chests, seavered heads, and kanji.

Hopefully whistles.

Shinkenger's gimmick was technically the Hiden Discs.. and multiple modes. And if we want to continue the collectible gimmick listing, prior to that was Engine Souls.

I don't care what the gimmick is as long as I can't directly point to it being the reason the toys are 2-step transformation arms/legs/torso combinations.

I'll also accept each part turning into an individual robot mode ala VRV Robo, though.

Good point as I completely forget about the discs. And before the engine souls came the Hurricanger discs. Man, gotta catch them all. Here's hoping this season's gimmick doesn't get in the way of the toys being fun.

Almost time the new team to makes their debut, are you all ready? Here's what we know so far!

They'll be numbered not named by their colors. (Tokkyuger 1, Tokkyuger 2)
They'll use Electronic Tickets to Henshin.
The show is aimed at Train Lovers and Children alike, so we can expect many different kinds of trains.

I'll double and get this party started.

My guess is that each individual Sentai will get their own Train, and those trains will become individual robots. It's been a long time since that happened. I think the last time was Carranger. And with trains, you have the space inside for a Limb mode and a Robot mode.
It's something I wish the Dinos did in Kyoryuger.

All I want is a bullet train that turns into a gun, and a steam engine that turns into a lasso/whip.
