thanks to a Picture on Dan Toku Rants Face book Page Power rangers web site as a image show casing Aka Red with an PR logo in Stead of the Super sentai 35 Logo he had in Gokaiger.

Remeber Dan toku Rant is part of power force so this image might be avalible only with power force member but take it with a grain of salt.

Interesting how they would choose to put him into the PR canon now. They left him out of Operation Overdrive (thank god) so I thought for sure they would leave him as a Sentai exclusive character. Should be interesting to see what they do with him though... could turn out be Gosei, if they choose not to kill him off like I initially predicted.

Maybe Adam could go Aka. Johnny Yong Bosch has stated he'd wat to see Adam go it in a blaze of glory, why not the blaze of becoming the living embodiment of the Power Rangers?

But don't worry, thankfully there's no chance it'd be. There's no way JDF could calm his ego if he was a new ranger. He'd be yakking about it to anywhere that'd listen about how awesome he/his character is.

That actually reminds me of last the Trivial Pursuit I played last night. We all found it hilarious that one of the qustions was "According to Jason David Frank, which ranger was demanded to return by children and parents alike".

Please don't ruin Aka Red by allowing JDF to play him. Even the thought makes me cringe. Honestly the logo they've slapped on his chest is lame enough :(

Lotta JDF hate.

Because, you know, being passionate about what you do, even if you're not humble about it, is so bad. He's likes being a power ranger. He likes that people like him. He doesn't hurt anyone, he doesn't ruin anything.

I would take a jillion JDFs who at least gives a shit about fans and the show, than Saban, the millionare who can't be bothered to assemble a half-decent anniversary cast, who just does it for money and is incapable of caring less.

I take it I'm the only one who likes it then?

The only thing I don't like is how it doesn't look like part of the costume. Aside from not looking like's it's attached, it looks like a patch instead of a more sophisticated adornement. Like a merit badge.

The design and idea, I'm cool with.

It's interesting to say the least, I'm curious as to why they wanted to use him now though.

We do have some members here who have worked conventions where he's been a guest, when he's not "on" or "live" and experienced some of his off-camera behavior and antics. While I personally like JDF and love the fact he's so open and so supporting of his fans, those who have first-hand experience of his more ... shocking ... behavior traits "off-camera" are totally justified in their dislike.

For all the "I love you guys!" and "I do all this for you!"s that are thrown out on Facebook, Instagram, and at conventions, all it takes is for someone to have that one negative experience where they go to say hi outside of the "on" time and get treated like total crap to ruin their entire image of him.

Also - looks like the image was fake. Dan is quite the jester!

You're focusing on the "good" side of his ego and ignoring the "bad" side, such as all the times he publicly insults or berates his former co-workers.

Some of his fans who cross the line into worshipper status or when he did re-appear in Dino Thunder and Forever Red the other characters gave Tommy titles like "The greatest ranger ever known" and generally worshipped him don't help make him an easier pill to swallow, either.

Bah. I was looking forward to this.

It could have been interesting, and would have been a fun way to "end" the 20 year legacy of Zordon and I guess Gosei, and given Saban a chance to truly "reboot" the series with the GoBusters adaption and not have to worry about any ties to the past -but at this point, I'd hope Saban would realize that Power Rangers is old enough that if you throw enough genuine nostalgia (ie: not rehashing the first episode of MMPR and calling it good) that you'll have fans and collectors from two to three generations interested.
