SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Renewal Full Comparison & Release Details
 

The latest issue of Hyper Hobby gives us a closer look at the upcoming re-release of Figuarts Kabuto in the new body style, including a comparison between the old & new designs to demonstrate all improvements.

Renewal Kabuto will be released in March 2014 and the current estimated price tag is 5000 Yen.

That's a stiff price tag, and one that could potentially have me reevaluating my compulsion to the line if it becomes a trend.

Still, I'll definitely pick this guy up. Haven't got a Kabuto yet and this seems like as good a time as any.

Definitely will pick him up whenever he comes down and price. He'd go great with my Souchaku Kabuto since that's in hyper mode.

I still really, really like the changes here - it looks fantastic! - and I want this figure quite a lot...

But damn that price tag stings so much every time I see it. It's a real strong deterrent.

So that means that even if Bluefin gets him in stock…he'll be about 70-80$ by the time local vendors get him in stock…fantastic.

It looks nice and all, but how are they justifying that price tag? Especially compared to some other recent S.H. Figuarts releases, the price doesn't make any sense.

If the left one is the new one,then I'm sold.I like the thicker,more stout version.The thinner one is too thin in my opinion.The thicker one feels more human to me,not like a lanky alien or something.

It looks better, I guess, though I'm very used to seeing the slimmer figure, so the new one looks odd to me.

My question is, why the crap are they remaking old figures when we STILL don't have any of Kiva's regular forms? Or Saga?

There are aspects I like of both. I really like the new head sculpt and general improved details of the new but I like the old one's slim frame.

Yeah, I definitely like the new one better, but if they aren't going to give us all of the other Kabuto riders in the new style, it isn't worth getting. I'd rather have all of my riders from one series look consistent.

The new one just makes the other one look like a total derp.

I don't really keep up with Kamen Rider figuarts, but I'm assuming that the one on the left is the new version?

The one of the left is the new one, and the one on the right is the old one.

Red. When you're less tired you'll probably be able to easily tell which is new. It's quite the glaring improvement.

I dont know why but compared to the new version the old one looks like the old souchaku henshin Kabuto :lol

Yeah, I was just about to say, it's crazy that this guy takes an SH Figuart and wipes the floor with it. I guess the extra 2000 yen shows.

Whew. $50 before shipping. Man. Ive got a Con to go to in March, and MammothRanger to pay for... Ill be waiting this one out.

It's 5250 Yen (a previous magazine scan said as much), and it more than likely comes with Masked Form parts, or a lot of effects pieces.

Ryuki, Knight, and Odin are all cheaper (and Odin was just released for a better comparison really) and have an entire Contract Beast.

Blade has a ton of effects pieces and is a good deal cheaper.

There's absolutely no way the price isn't justified.

It's worth it t me at that price even if it doesn't have effect parts or Masked form armor. It's a superb figure that's leagues above the original release as it is. But i'll happily take more stuff.

If it has effect pieces, I might be able to justify the price, but if not, then definitely not. $35, yes. $50, too high without something to back it up, especially if they aren't going to do the others.

the 5250yen price is if you live in Japan. its 5000yen +5% sales tax

for example Tamashii nations lists SHMA Predator for 6090yen but its real retail price BEFORE store discounts is 5800yen.

so yeah it is 5000yen as most internet sites won't charge the sales tax.

If it has Masked parts, I would be all over it, but if it doesn't, I can wait for it to be cheaper. Since I've already almost got every Kabuto Figuart, I'm not in a hurry to replace one of them unless it has accessories I need.

If AmiAmi, etc. choose to not charge sales tax, that's their prerogative. The retail price, as will be listed on the Tamashii Nations page as you yourself said, and listed in not one, but TWO advertisements for the product, is 5250.

Either way, it's poor reporting to claim that it's one price, when it is clearly listed as another, and not explain why you are claiming it is a different price.

damn....now the rest of that line will look weird standing next to the new Kabuto. Kick-hooper, Za Bee, Gattack and etc. :( Oh well...
