Gaoranger DX Gaolleries 7 of 15 Gao Rhinos & Gaomadillo
 

Gao! Tokunation continues a celebration of Power Rangers Wild Force this month with this gallery of the DX Gao Rhinos & Gaomadillo set from Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger!

This odd couple appeared when Gao Bison was injured and unable to form the legs of Gao King. In his stead Gao Rhinos becomes a new waist and legs while Gaomadillos becomes the right foot, as well as a soccer ball themed striking weapon! When combined with Gao Lion, Eagle, Shark and Tiger, Gao king Striker is formed!

If used with Gao Gorilla, Bear, and Polar, Gao Muscle Striker is formed! To create this form a small transforming grey disc is included to replace Gao Eagle in the combination. This waist adapter allows Gao Gorilla to combine with Rhinos and leave Eagle for the main Gao King combo. the disc can similarly be used with Rhinos spring loaded horn as a soccer ball like weapon.

I always loved the look of these little guys ^_^.

This is the one that sort of gives the Megazord leg articulation, right?

It's pretty cool how the rhino unfolds and completely changes shape like that. Even the dillo rather impressively folds into a ball.

These are my favorite leg-parts for Wild Force Megazord. The Rhino is beautiful, and the Armadillo is just an awesome little soccer ball :lol

These are the only two animals I'm not overly fond of. They look great, but the soccer ball finisher was a little too much for me when combined with the CGI stadium :lol

That waist adapter was another piece missing from the American release, until they stuffed it in with a weird boxset called "Ultimus Megazord."

Kongazord Striker looks weird without it.

Great Gaolliries as usual. These were two of my favourite Wildzords. It makes me want to get them all again.

i only ever saw isis megazord once and seeing this makes me sad i couldnt get it

I didn't like it just because it made no sense with Zeo's overall theme.

Well, Red Battlezord is based on a boxer so there's a weird sports theme going on with the auxiliary stuff. Its just more subtle there.

Nothing says subtle like a giant ass tire :lolol

For my money, Gaoranger/Wild Force is far and away the best DX Sentai line. Too much fun.

You can fudge it by leaving Gao Eagle where it normally goes in Gao Gorilla to fill the gap, at least.

I love this set. After I get rid of my Gao Icarus, I'm gonna have to rebuy these guys on their own.

These two are right behind Gao Gorilla as my personal favorite individual Power Animal(s).

And I actually don't mind how it looks without Gao Eagle. Sure you can use him in there but it isn't an official combo, which is what I focus on with these galleries. Looking at it another way you can have Gao King and Muscle Striker displayed simultaneously thanks to Rhinos and that grey disc. In show they could have had two mecha on screen together even, but it takes 5 Gaorangers to pilot one of the Gao King style combos.

Den-O, I'm going to throw out a crazy fan theory:
What if the default combos could work with basic A.I.-like functions? They wouldn't be very smart, but it would let the GaoRangers pilot say, GaoMuscle Striker Longhorn while GaoKing and GaoHunter back them up.

I never understood why if the animals are sentient, they can't become a Megazord as backup themselves?

especially since the wildzords are as intelligent if not more so than the galactabeasts and we saw them flat out refuse to fight despite being piloted

I think that's because there's only one Soul Bird, one heart for any given Gao combination at a time.

If the Rhino never came with the waist piece, how did it become the legs? Or was it so it connected with one but it still could with the other? I don't understand.

The waist piece only goes with the Gao Muscle Striker combo. It can combine with Gaoking without it and use Eagle instead.

The waist piece technically it isn't even needed. It fills in a the gap where the Eagle goes usually and adds stability.

Soul Bird was pointless to actual combination. So the other animals should have been able to form Megazords and just not be as super effective.

But really at that point you've gotta wonder why the animals never helped out regardless of if they could combine.

Yup.

The combination pegs are attached to a metal rollcage on the Go-rhillar, and the Eagle (or disk) goes in there just for aesthetics.
