So as you may or may not know, myself, Den-O, Shin Densetsu, and Sentai Tamashii, with the help of Tony Bacala, have been hard at work behind the scenes for over a month now getting the site ready for our big 2.0 relaunch. As we've gotten closer, I've begun teasing with my signature.

The sig is actually our new logo, contorted and twisted and put through a ton of filters just because. But you can KIND of get a gist of it.

Until we relaunch, I figure I'll answer any questions I can that you may have about the relaunch - what new features there will be, what changes can be expected, etc.

So ask away! If I can't answer it (because of TOP SECRET DETAILS), then I will state as such.

Will your avatar be the official mascot like TFW's?

With the relaunch, will there be a way to prevent spammers now?

Will we lose the side bar thing that shows the latest top 5 posts? I normally use it to keep up with stuff.

I remember that teaser you had on Twitter and I dont think it had it.

Do we get popcorn gif?

Will we still have the "Newest Poll" Sidebar?

Will the PM Message limit increase to 100 like TFW?

I assume that bug testing went well?

Will there be new limits on signatures and avatars with the reboot?

Someone won the mascot contest over a year ago, started to draw something up, and I never heard back. The mascot that won did have the "T" visor on a helmet, but it incorporated something from Sentai/Power Rangers, Kamen Rider, and Godzilla on it.

I will have to dig up the old files. But no actual "mascot" planned as I type this, though it can always change.

Most spammers are simply bots - programs running through web browsers. We put in and change security measures so that no bots "learn" how to register on our site perfectly every time. We also have a registry that's updated frequently that autobans accounts.

For what it's worth, it's caught 55,125 spambots on its own as of today. If 1 or 2 slip through the cracks, we can handle that.

The teaser image was just a slice of the actual site! The sidebar at the time wasn't ready for showing and was still in development - thus, I cut it out. Yes, the side bar will be back in action, and even better.

The only thing is we won't be able to showcase the polls on the side bar anymore, as that is a unique feature to vBulletin Portal, which is what we use now.

I can increase the PM message limit at anytime. I didn't know it set at 100. That's pretty low. I will get that bumped up ASAP.

We have some different things to bug test, but for the most part we're good to go. Just fine-tuning right now.

We will most likely increase both - they were set very small when we launched as our server allocation wasn't very high.

Will any currently open threads be lost when the new site is opened up?

When will my royal tributes & taxes from the mass users be due each month?

No. The site/board will probably go down for an hour or so while we switch things over. The site and board will have a new skin and a slightly different color scheme. And the new logo, obviously.

We don't have one now but I really hope we do after the relaunch. Best Idea Ever.

So just put a button that is almost like the buttons we use for the bold and italics? Just highlight whatever needs a spoiler tag and poof! Done.

Will the new layout be similar to TFW's current layout or will it be unlike anything we've ever seen before on any other forum ever?

Will there be any new sections added to the forum?

Any chance of a format more mobile-friendly? Some of the links are kind of finnicky on a smartphone (I'm looking at you, tiny-ass "go to first unread post" flag).

Since Kickback is advertising Tokunation 2.0 as the Zeo to Tokunatons MMPR, does that mean this site will be invaded by malicious, yet comical intruders and blown up before being rebuilt :lol?

Can we get a spoiler text system that works with iPads?

Yea cause it annoys me to hit reply just to read the spoiler where as on my fire I can just tap on it.

I can run it by Tony B. The forum is also hindered by the fact we use vBulletin 3.0 ... because 4.0 and 5.0 do not function in a way that helps our site, but instead handicaps it. I will have further info on this later after the holiday.

It will look similar to www.toyark.com but be totally tailored to our site's current look. I dare say that the new TokuNation.com looks better than ToyArk.com ... and the mods, who have seen some images of the new site, are welcome to chime in on if they agree or not :)

The overall forum will remain the same. But the front page, now that it is NOT running through vBulletin, will be ENTIRELY mobile friendly. I've been testing it on my iPhone and my tablet and it runs smoothly and loads super fast.

I thought about making a special video right before the new site goes up but I don't think I have the time with working a full time retail management job that sells groceries before the largest grocery-holiday of the season :)

I've been looking at different smilies and it's on my list of things to do over Thanksgiving and my upcoming weekend off. If you guys have any thing you REALLY want added, post 'em here (with links, or just the images) so I can get them put together in a mass-file to send off to get added.
