In Hand Images of Power Rangers Super Megaforce Legendary Morpher and Ranger Keys
 

With special thanks and permission from our friend and member Linear Ranger (follow him on Twitter @LinearRanger), we're sharing the images he has taken of the recently released Power Rangers Super Megaforce Legendary Morpher!

This item is the US adaption of the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger Mobirate, the transformation device that changes our heroes in to past iterations of themselves. Some known sounds and other facts:

• When using the "Super Megaforce Red Ranger" key, the morpher says "Super Megaforce Red"
• When using the "Super Megaforce Red Ranger" key a second time, the morpher says "Summon Sky Ship!"
• When using the "Mighty Morphin Red Ranger" key, the morpher says "Mighty Morphin Red"
• When using the "Mighty Morphin Red Ranger" key a second time, the morpher makes the classic communicator beeping sound
• The "Super Megaforce Red Ranger" key that comes with the Legendary Megazord is translucent red, giving it a slight look of "metallic"
• The keypad, save for the number "1", is all the same button
• The morpher does have Gokaiger Mobirate sounds
• Yes, the phone closes (see the images)

I did the same but I think Ill be buying this once more sounds get shown.

I'd be lying if I said I was happy with how both turned out. The Legendary Morpher looks nice but the typical Bandai of America keypad really kills it. The megazord seems like cut-back central, but since I collect zords that'll be what I end up getting from this way.

Is it really that hard for BoA to make a decent toy?!? come on!!!

Well, not really. But they would have to charge more for the toys. (see every Legacy product as an example). They make cutbacks so the toys can be affordable for every day consumers. Looks like I am going to have to do A LOT of silver sharpie work on the Megazord. I might pass on the morpher all together at least until the keys start coming out.

Pity about the keypad but I'm still gonna pick it up, unique team sounds was what I wanted.

Did they confirm whether or not it was reusing the Gosei morpher sound effects?

I'm actually really impressed that the morpher recognizes individual color in addition to team name. Don't think I'll be going in on this, since I have a near complete JP key collection, but these seem cool.

This is a decent toy though... Actually it's an amazing one if you get the keys. This is still a hell of a lot better than most of the morphers we've ever gotten for crying out loud.

The morpher looks pretty nice. But I'll honestly pass on it. Only items in the line I want are the Gokaigers and the megazord.

Target and places here will probally sell this for the same inflated price point as the Gosei Morpher. Which was around 33.99 or so. So what I'm going to do is wait, spend the extra mony, and just buy the BoJ release.

Cause damn. I want it, but damn.

The morpher itself is a let down in different ways,but the keys....The keys are smaller but is it me or do they have more detail?

I already own both version of the Mobirates so I don't see a need to get this. I am more interested to see how the American Gokai Cellular will turn out though.

They have the same detail it's just the BoA release is shinier for some reason in the pic.

Oh, dear, that closed mode looks terrible. I'm surprised about the keypad. That was a fun feature that I hadn't even considered would be cut. I wonder how it has "more sounds then the BOJ" like they claim when it sounds like it has just as many sounds for the keys (2 each) and less sounds due to the keypad, I mean the Mobirates had lots (about 50?) secret sounds effects from different keypad combinations. Will be interesting to see if there's some secrets to it, because its a big disappointment right now.

The Mobirates is my favourite morpher ever and I love it and, unlike the Gosei Morpher V Tensouder, it looks like the BOJ is still far not top, but I may get a Legendary Morpher just to try out.

It would appear that it does contain the same sound phrases that the Gosei Morpher has, as it is the same voice saying "RED MIGHTY MORPHIN" and such.

Really? I'd assumed they'd at least record some new voice over for those sounds.

Turned out better than I thought it would. I don't really need it since I have a Mobirates but I like the variety of sounds in it.

I will have both. So I can unlock the power in TWO LANGUAGES.

If the sounds are recycled, then pass. All kinds of pass. It's tiny, ugly, and I wasn't super mega fond of the sounds in the Gosei Morpher anyway. I wish the keys weren't so different. I'll probably skip those too.

BoJ is taking so much of my money, it would be unwise to give any to to BoA because then I'd probably go into debt.

Edit: Wow the key bits look cheap. I didn't notice that pic before. Also, recycled voice seems to be apparent.

Sigh.. I put off buying Ranger keys for Japanese mobirates because I thought the US version would be the same size as the Japanese. Looks like I may have to get rest of the ranger keys from Imports.

Really disappointed that they recycled the sounds. Looks like this is a pass for me.

What did ya guys expect? It makes sense that the sounds are recycled, it's still the same show and it's definitely cost effective. This is nothing more than what was promised, a cheaper alternative to the same season the US has.

Not on the inside.The sticker on the inside of the American keys has more to it.They kind of made it look like a computer chip,where as the original just has the logo.

The guy in the video didn't turn the key again for "BEEP BEEP BO BEEP BOOP BEEP" :(

Since Boukenger, we should never really expect the BoA version to be compatible with the BoJ version.

I opened mine up to test the key switches... There are only 5 sound activating switches. If I recall the Mobirate had 6 switches that needs to be pressed to activate certain sounds. I'm currently testing the switches to see what sounds they produce. Here's my list so far.


The list reads from the center of the morpher to back.
O = Open/Unpressed switch
X = Pressed Switch
Anything listed after a forward slash "/" is the secondary sound.
So far any past teams secondary sound is the Communicator Beep
Anything in quotations "example " I can't quite understand or don't get the reference at the moment.

Examinus - is there any chance you can do the five Super Megaforce call outs in a row and see what it unlocks? They said "the theme song", and I'm just curious what that's like.

There's a Merry Christmas sound? :eyebrow .. Sentai has become confused.

EDIT: You guys don't think we're getting that Red/Green Gokaiger that Gai made do you?

The Mobirates aslo had a "Merry Christmas" sound along with most major Japanese holidays.

On the Mobirates, though, they were made by putting the date of the holiday into the keypad (so Christmas is 1225, for example). But if the keypad doesn't work, does that mean there'll be special holiday keys? Sounds kinda cool.

I tried pressing the buttons in the order they are on the back of the box.
Pink - Green - Red - Blue - Yellow but I didn't get anything special.

If you keep the Super Mega Force Red key in position it does say "Super Mega Force Legendary Megazord"

Also - the "Communicator Beep" and "Time Force" have the same code.
