David Yost and Walter Jones to Attend Denver Comic Con June 13-15, 2014
1 Attachment(s)
If you haven't heard of Denver Comic Con then it's time you got yourself familiarized! The first show happened in 2012 and was met with great praise for being well-organized and a fun experience. Then in 2013, they were met with record number increases, so much that they had to turn people away from entering the show, as it was entirely sold out (we're talking an increase from a few thousand to TENS of THOUSANDS with people getting in line for tickets at 1am)!
And now in 2014 they are finally dabbling in the genre of tokusatsu, announcing David Yost (the Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger) and Walter Jones (the original Mighty Morphin Black Ranger) as special guests. Both Yost and Jones are still relatively new to the convention circuits, only recently in the last year or so getting in to conventions. Denver Comic Con will be held June 13th, 14th, and 15th at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver, Colorado. Tickets go on sale Cyber Monday (Monday, December 2nd). Click here for more information on Denver Comic Con! I will be at the show - will you? |
I suddenly wish I lived in Colorado :lol

NICE! I've heard good things about the Denver Comic Con.
|
I'm pretty stoked - I haven't been able to attend the show because my associates at work have been going and I had to stay behind to cover their stuff. It will be fun this year to be able to enjoy the entire show from start to finish.

Sounds cool! But Ill be seeing both of them in March anyway :p

INteresting. If it weren't for the fact that Denver COmic Con makes you PAY for autographs, I might be interested in this.

IE: For a convention to have a guest come out and do FREE autographs, they usually have to pay an extra free to the guest for them to agree to do it, and even then it's only for a certain amount of time. So say I'm a guest at a convention. I am paid a flat fee for my appearance, as well as my hotel and flight covered. The convention asks if I plan to charge autographs, I say yes, tell them what I charge, and if the convention thinks it's too high they'll ask to lower it, and I will then ask for a larger sum in the "flat fee" for the appearance to cover the difference. |

I will definitely be there since I plan to volunteer this year.

If anyone would like to get some pre-sale tickets, please let me know. I have a code that I can use from now till Monday that guarantees your tickets before the general public can purchase them on Monday.

It's ridiculous how much people will charge too. Stan Lee was originally supposed to be there last year and he was going to be charging $150 for autographs. He bailed at the last minute and they got William Shatner who was charging that same price. Charging for autographs is just greedy and shows you don't have respect for your fans. I paid for the convention, that should be more than enough. |
Tempting, but I'll wait until they swing by Lexington in March. The show is like half an hour from my house.
Got to meet Mr. Yost at this year's show, that was an interesting experience. |

David Yost by the way is a hell of a nice guy. Met him a LexCon this past year and he was really great. |
This is all really interesting, and it occurs really close to my birthday, which is cool.
However, funds are what they are. Unlike those who go to conventions and come back with duffel bags full of merch, any money I make would go towards getting there, hotel fees, food, and getting back. Adding that autographs also cost money, and yeah :S One of the many drawbacks of being broke as shit. |
