Let's Watch Wednesdays Week 10 Kamen Rider Blade 28-30
 

Oh man, these episodes. :lol

And so we bring Shima's story to a close. At least for now. I really liked him, but for the context of story, he had to go. It is also nice to see them do something with Nozomi instead of just having her whine "Mutsuki" all of the time. Finally, the true identity of Hajime is at last revealed and I have to say I love the foreshadowing that was done way back in the seventh episode. It really shows that the writers actually knew what they wanted to do with his character right from the get go.

Now pardon me while I keep the next segment brief because I absolutely hate these episodes. They just feel out of place and did not fit with the themes and atmosphere of the show. Sure, getting to see Garren's Jack form is cool, but it's not like he uses it more than once more. Oh, but look, its the dude from AbaRanger/GaoRanger/ShouGeki/Battle Royale. That is pretty awesome as I really like that dude. He always plays the most random characters ever.

With that said, I am done discussing these lackisodes, but at least we are now heading into the second main arc of the series.

The end of Shima's arc was kinda necessary. But Mutski is still having the spider mess with him.

I actually kinda liked the Hajime's lookalike two parter. We find out Hajime's real identity infused with some needed humor before the shit hits the fan. I liked how Blade dealt with the look alike storyarc in that Ryo was the person nobody around him wanted him to be and preferred Hajime instead. Ryo couldn't do dick to fight the undead so he had to man up and prove himeslef to his girlfriend and both of their families. Serpent undead was a hell of a lot better viallain then Orchid undead because she had a plan of finding hajime and it worked and not using her feminine qualities only to get in close to the kill.

Kamen Rider Garren Jack was awesome but his three card combo consisted of him flying back and doing a boring ass shot. No fancy move like leaning forward in midair like when Blade did Jack Lightning Slash.

The next set of episodes is the King storyline and then Blade King so I can't wait.

Garren Jack-Form is here too :D These three episodes felt a bit more laid back and loved it.

Let's Watch Turkey Day Edition for me :lol. My thoughts:

28: While I'm sad to see Shima go, he had to go the sake of the narrative. Since he intentionally let himself be sealed, hopefully there is some Batman Gambit for him to help Mutsuki to fight off the control of the Ace. And I did like after erasing Nozomi's memory of that Undead attacking, he used her thoughts to try and break through to Mutsuki.

29 and 30: I felt like I was watching ShouGeki at times. Probably because the Iroha boss/Ryou's dad plays that random old man in that show :lol. I found it amusing that the Medusa Undead would just random go into evil laughter mode. Even in the middle of a busy crosswalker. You'd think the random pedestrians of Japan would react more to that. The whole switch places things definitely had some amusement factor to it. As did the serious business of Taiyaki and Takoyaki. And hey, Garren got his Jack Form.

On generals notes, we learn Hajime's true identity of Joker. Seems even the other Undeads are afraid of what he is. And he gave Garren his Queen card in what looks like hopes to escalate things. Then we have Missing Ace snippets at the end of these episodes. I guess I know what we are watching next week?

Honestly, it's Japan. Most people are probably used to it by now and just think, "Oh look, she must be a monster in disguise, good for her."

It probably also helps that they're written by Shougeki Gouraigan's writer, Toshiki Inoue.

For context, did Inoue write all of Blade or just these particular episodes?

He wrote six episodes: 17/18, 29/30, and 43/44. He also wrote the movie, as per usual.

Noooo, I liked shima, even if he had to go for the plot to work. though he did pull of the Tibetan monk vibe really well, all to the very end, where he just got in front of Leangles rider kick I really hope that he can make Mutsuki come to his senses so he can use the remote card to bring Shima back.

As for the Haijime twin story, sucked so much, I don't know if being able to make a snack food in japan is something to be proud of but it would be like a corn dog vendor having it out with a taco cart/ At least we found out that Chalice is some kind of god, and will probably be the end villain if not Leangle.

And yes we got a second jack from, Just kind of wish the jack form made them look a little more different than just adding wings and a stabby bit to the end of their weapons. Either way, looking forward to the next, hopefully not snack cake related, episodes.

Depsite his short appearance Shima had a great impact on the show, he's a great character, and very memorable.

Probably not, as it's an alternate ending to the show it may be one of the last LWW for Blade.

So the debut of Leangle and yaki episodes so far. He actually did a good job working with the Blade writer(s), unlike Movie War Core.

Wow, this man is definitely a mixed bag even in his own episodes. The Leangel episodes are fantastic, 29 and 30 suck, 43 and 44 are good episodes despite being filler, and the movie sucks ass.

I just don't understand this guy. How can someone have just as many good things as he has bad things? It should be unbalanced.

29 & 30 are god awful. Every series seems to have that like 2-episode arc right in the middle usually around 30 that's pointless. Really slapstick or silly or unimportant to the overall story. Kabuto is by far the worst example with it's horrible Iron Chef wannabee 2-parter.

Am I the only one who loved 29/30? I thought they were really fun in a blatantly ridiculous kind of way.

Also, the girl playing notHajime's girlfriend is really pretty.

Glad I'm not the only one who hated the Iron Chef crap in Kabuto. But yeah, it always seems to be around 30 when it happens. W had the movie director Dopant. Wizard had something (which I cannot even remember now), Kiva had the Ixa travels back in time episodes, etc.

Oh yeah, the evil Iron Chef episodes. I founds those amusing since I always enjoy an Iron Chefian cooking duel

Loved, no. Enjoyed, yes.

I didn't hate them because of the cooking duel, I hated them because of how out of place they were with the tone of the show. That is the reason I hate these Ryo/Hajime episodes. They just feel out of place with the rest of the show.

Questions raised:
Where can I get raw audio of that one tune that plays any time there's something emotional onscreen? That one that sounds like piano and has an electric guitar riff in it?

And if Hajime is Joker, and he has the Tornado Hawk card, did Blade predict W YEARS before W happened? :lol

And why do I think pulling a Samurai on Blade wouldn't be that bad?

It's even funnier when you remember the password they used early on the show: Double Joker. :p

I believe so yes. the only beneficial thing that came out of it was haijime's actor getting to show his scope, even if that scope is him as a dumbass.

What does "Onduru ruragittan disukaa!?" mean?

It's a joke from Japan circa 2004. It has to do with the way Kenzaki enunciates his lines, especially when shouting.

I can actually understand that joke now after watching Blade.

Seeing Hajime's actor play such a different character was refreshing and hilarious. :lol Nice to see Garren's jack form even though those forms are just okay to me. Plus we finally get to know that Chalice's #53/Joker. Also, is it wrong that I really want a Taiyaki Master Ultimate Form SHF?

You should see him pin the first season of Sky High. He gets killed and then has to decide what he wants to do with his after life and his character is completely different from what I was just to with Hajime.

when will we be able to see King-form in action?

Pretty damn soon. Possibly as early as next week - I forget the exact episode number.

28- Oh man this was good, better than the last few.

29- So this is the weird episodes? Yay...

30- Jack Form Garren is cool! And whats up with the Junichi guy that was in Decade? Huh

He returned on Decade as Glaive, but the Blade and Decade versions of him are completely different characters.

These are the last episodes that use Round Zero as the opening, right?

Yep. The new opening kicks in on episode 31.

And it is damn good.

It awesome, but not as good as Brave.

I'll miss Round Zero. Such a damn good song.

I like Kakusei, so I hope Elements is good. I will miss Round Zero though.

Better opening! Oh it is a bit slower, (I just can't keep up with fast ones.) and more interesting and less, "BLADE!"

Episode 9. God damn it. I'm enjoying this, and I'm off for two weeks soon, so I expect I'll be catching up then.
