Thanks to ToyWiz through Amazon.com and Fury Diamond and his Samurai Cast Blog, we have our first images of the upcoming Super Megaforce Deluxe Super Mega Blaster. As expected, the gun receives an orange plug at the end to comply with toy safety regulations (so you don't get shot as you play outside with it).

Ahem. Speaking for a few, they know the difference.

What dumbass id goin to point that around acting like its a real gun? If they are under 12 its funny and you can tell the difference, if they are above the age of 12, the should know the reasons not to wave a gun around like its real.

Exactly, if someone is gonna act like a toy is a gun, itll be a nerf gun or something that resembles a gun.

Obviously I'm no expert on US safety laws, but its just the way its been for years now). I'm pretty sure no one would mistake classics Megatron for a real gun, but it didn't stop him looking like a florescent vomit explosion.

why is this a surprise to anyone? i mean we have been getting guns with orange tips for years. i could care less about paint apps because it's not that important, if it shoots and turns the key im happy, talk about being anal about everything, you are lucky we are getting toys at all.

The orange is required for all non-lethal weapons to show that they aren't actual firearms. No matter how ridiculous they look, they all have to have that.

Now, my biggest complaint is the removal of the trigger guard. So much for doing my best Clint Eastwood impressions...

Easy pass. Looks god aweful.

Unfortunately, judging by the pictures, the key doesn't even turn. It just plugs into the slot. Looks like you can't jam the button on the sword and gun together to make the slots pop up like in the show.

Ok, looking at it more closely, I've reconsidered. Nope.

The orange doesn't bother me, the rest does. And PR is a popular enough franchise that there will always be toys no matter how good/bad. Kids play with their imagination, so even something that's close will suffice. Adults like screen accurate display items or props for cosplay. Retail products are usually a better option than scratch built customs.

After an awosme showing with the mega saber, this looks like an imdent pass other than the ranger key. I am ver dissaponit. Everthing else looks so great, why did this get the shaft after all the awsome stuff that came from this line.
