Let's Watch Wednesdays Week 11 Kamen Rider Blade 31-33
 

Oh crap its that time again! Glad I got caught up Sunday! Now to wait until tomorrow for these thanks to work. :lol

And we being a new saga in the world of Blade with a brand new opening song (good, but no where near as good as the first one), a King Undead, and a whole lot of Joker hate. With the way everyone acts, you would think Joker molested these dudes when they were younger. Oh yeah, and we also got KyoryuGreen's father after he went crazy for some Undead loving. :-p BTW, why must every computer program in Japan that is supposed to reveal something unexpected to the characters so complicated on the computer screen? What happened to just having a file explaining what would happen instead of some encryptic video?

Seriously though, these episodes have really started to raise the stakes as there really aren't many non-high rank Undeads left, so now the big boys are coming out to play. On top of that, I just love the Artificial Undead's reveal and I am not sure why, but I always get a Psycho Mantis feel from these dudes. I really liked the time powers this Undead had, but I have to say that watching the little shields appear over the King whenever Kenzaki went to hit him was pretty damn awesome. Makes me think of a video game boss.

It is nice to learn the truth being Hajime and that the Human Undead has a huge influence on him in the same manner as Leangle does on Mutsuki. Speaking of Mutsuki, he looks freaking bad ass dressed like a gangster. Plus, just moving those cards around like he did was pretty bad ass. Speaking of bad ass, how about that fight between Garren and Blade? WOW!! Although, you would think Garren would have cracked a bone or something falling from that high up. My only complaint is how Kenzaki just let three guys that wanted to rape Nozomi get away to rape another day so he could fully focus on the King. Other than that and another freaking cliff hanger, these episodes rocked!! I cannot wait for next week.

Oh man this was a doozy of a LWW. We have all of Hajime cards(pun intended) laid out of the table. He's the Joker Undead, and the reason why he keeps the using the Spirit Card is that he doesn't want to return to that state. Then we have this Category King trying to push Hajime so that he will return being Joker just for shits and giggles. And to top things off on the Hajime/Joker front, we learn that if the Joker Undead is the last one standing all life gets wiped out. This sets up some interestings intereactions at Kenzaki wants to defend Hajime, Tachibana wants to seal him to save humanity, and Mutsuki wants him out of the was to preserve order. The really ratcheted up things with this stuff alone.

I'll cover my thoughts on the other non-Hajime/Joker events a bit later.

Just curious, where are you guys watching the Kamen Rider episodes? I always see the "Let's Watch" threads, but there's never a link to the shows. I know there's a Sentai page on Facebook with tons of stuff from GoRanger through Kyoryuger, but I've never seen one for Kamen Rider.

It depends, but I am watching my REgion 2 DVDs for this show.

I love how these three focused on Joker and a little on Kenzaki. That Trial... thing is kind of creepy though seeing how it can absorb the card after being beaten then getting back up. Kind of stupid that Kenzaki tried to seal it A SECOND TIME EVEN AFTER IT FAILED THE FIRST TIME!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see King-form next episode! So shiny.

So, now my thoughts on the other events in these episodes. We have the return of Hirose's dad(did we know he was missing/presumsed dead? I forget) and he pretty much hands Tachibana all of BOARD's data on a silver platter. Between that, telling him to get Kenzaki away from the Rider system, and Trial D/cracking the code on Undead immorality makes me wonder what he is up to. I really like Mutsuki's return to action after a brief hiatus. Even though it looks like Shima lost the power struggle to the Ace, I like Mutsuki better now that he isn't just being pulled around on strings by Leangle and has embraced the darkness. And then we have the appearance of a new King Undead. I have to say I liked the appearing shields to block and physical assualts made on him, and he used the time stopping Undead pretty well while it was with him. The new opening is pretty cool. Not as good as Round Zero, but has some better variety in footage. Finally, the Missing Ace stuff at the end of 32 gives us sneak peaks of suits that appear in the future like Blade King Form and Joker Undead. I always find it amusing how Tokusatsu never tries to hide spoilers like that.

Speaking Blade King Form, it's going to debut next week and I'm pumped for it.

It's not just Toku though, it is everything Japanese. They named the DBZ episodes "Freeza Halved by a Single Stroke!! Another Super Saiyan" and "My Dad is Vegeta... Admissions of the Mysterious Youth," telling you exactly what was going to happen in them.

They do this all of the time. Japan does not believe in no spoilers.

I think Macross is the only show that had its opening withheld from the first episode when it originally premiered to keep the Valkyrie's hidden from the public, but that was back in 82.

From last week's eps, I didn't understand much when we first learned that Hajime is Joker. This week's episode, I think we learned a lot more about Hajime being Joker. I like how Kenzaki tries to protect Hajime from Tachibana and man-made Undead.

I need to get into this show.

Things are really beginning to heat up in blade. Kenzaki is being attacked by virtually everyone, the douchiest cellphone villain ever is actually hard to kill, and jack form is apparently able to arbitrarily get stronger for no reason. And hopefully that fusion card Kenzaki gave to Haijime means chalice is getting something akin to a king form just to balance things out between the riders.

Also this may not be a popular thought, but thank got Mutsuki got absorbed by the Ace, I was getting tired of his sub plot, and his girlfriend. The way she said his name is a tad annoying to the American ear.

Really enjoy watching kenzaki trying to protect hajime from tachibana

31- Alright episode, Mitsuki is getting controlled so bad. I feel sorry for him :lol Oh and Blade is getting his ass kicked I like :lol

The situation with Joker is getting super interesting. The fact that Trial D only exists to hunt Kenzaki and can't be sealed is scary as hell; I wonder why Kenzaki having the Rider System is dangerous. Really liked that Kenzaki was the garbage man in the background during the Missing Ace segment at the end of episode 31. :lol Lastly, Elements is growing on me. Wasn't sure about it at first, but I might end up liking it more than Round Zero. Also, next week is King Form. :O

Alright, Lenzaki apperantly is to trustworthy while Tachibana is scared that the world is gonna end.

33- Cool little episode, they finally figured out Hajime cant contain himself long as he cant use the Spirit card. King next time? I liked Jack better.

That new show opening leaves me scratching my head. I didn't really like the first opening at the beginning of the series, but I quickly grew to love it thanks to the song and the reveals throughout the course of the series just by changing the camera angles. Now this new opening is so... plain. And a little over-dramatic. Everyone's so sad or angry! Is this show taking a darker turn? Overall, I'm surprised the new opening has so much less going on compared to the first version.

Really enjoying this series. I've only seen W, OOO, Fourze, and Wizard, so this is my first earlier Kamen Rider. The differences between those series and this one in terms of plot and story arc and number of Riders is interesting! Makes me want to check out other older series.

Am I the only person whose been bored out of his mind for most of this show? :lol

I'll admit there are some good episodes like todays upcoming 3 episode arc, but for the most part this show does nothing to capture my attention. The characters are all such 1 dimensional stereotypes at times that it's painful.

Nope, I also have been, reason I havent been caring much to keep up, I have yet to see what makes Blade amazing. It is starting to get good now, but dang the previous 30 episodes are total Eh.

Seeing as how this is to date the greatest Kamen Rider series out there, I do not know how you can be bored. There is a lot of action throughout the show with intricate and connecting subplots in the entire thing.

And you are talking about the characters being one dimensional stereotypes as if that is not every Kamen Rider series. Kamen Rider has always had the single minded hero, the teacher, the student, and the loner. Even Sentai has it. They just happen to have a booby hero to mix it up a bit.

Okay, I'm really liking Elements. Also, I have the same deck Mutsuki was using. I know t's a common deck, but it made me smile. :D

King is a dick

Tachibana-san!!!!! Why do you always side with the bad guys? Didn't you learn the last time with Peacock Undead killing your girlfriend? Seriously, Tachibana likes to believe in a cause and get caught up in it, causing pain and suffering around him. And holy fuck, Trial D talks in a really creepy tone.

I'm interested to see what Hajime is gonna do with that Wolf Undead card, he's gonna change into it but I don't know if it's gonna be for actual combat or to jest keep him from reverting back.

Really Mutski, you embraced the darkness? Cool story bro. But seriously, Mutski dealing with the will of the spider should have been the main plot of the middle arc of the show. Only now we are getting around to it?

So Hajime is Joker and the scene where he became the Dragonfly Undead forshadowed it? Maybe it's because I don't play Blackjack, but what is the point of the Joker and why is it apparently Wild?

Also, WHAT IS THAT TRACK THAT PLAYED WHEN AMANE WAS PLAYING NURSEMAID TO HAJIME AND HE SNAPPED AT HER? It's been playing in this show since the start and I want raw audio of that tune.

Joker can be used as any other card (Ace, King, 7, whatever), and as such is known as a Wild Card.

Epic Blade Catchup Marathon part 2/6!

I really like the new opening, not as much as Blade Brave, but still awesome. I'm really liking Category King, it's really cool how he's just trying to screw everything up. And Blade x Garren is back for round 2! Can't wait to see how this goes :)
