Toqger Toy Thread: ALL ABOARD!
New Super Sentai series means new merchandise!
Tokkyu-Oh, the main Mecha, should be released the last week in February and is estimated at 5000-ish yen http://i.imgur.com/nnk2I11.jpg Two Auxiliary Mecha have been confirmed so far, Tank & Car Carrier Resshas, to be released in March. the DX TokkyuChanger will be central to the first wave of releases in February, costing 3900 Yen. http://i.imgur.com/FRDWhsZ.jpg the Tokkyuger's belt & sidearm, the TokkyuBlaster & TokkyuBuckle respectively. They can also form new weapons (a sword & shield) for TokkyuOh. http://i.imgur.com/BCWRNpW.jpg and the Tokkyuger's main weapon is the "Renketsu Bazooka," also set for February and priced at 5500 Yen. Five weapons (Rail Slasher, Form Trigger, Shingo Hammer, Tunnel Axe, Tekkyou Claw) combine to form the Bazooka. Future releases TBD but I'd say things are on track for decent profit conducting this year. |
I wanna at least get the Tokkyu Changer,Tokkyu Blaster and Tokkyu Buckle. The Mecha and the rest of the weapons I dont really care for.
|
About the only thing this makes me wish, is that I bought the WizarSwordGun.
|
The mecha hits me sideways atm. Ill still get the minipla though, that looks to be very good from what I have seen. The car carrier is cool. It would be great if the cars involved were the engines from go-onger

I'll will be giving the whole of Tokkyuger a pass. My mind might change as more aux mecha are introduced, but with most series that I don't have a good initial reaction to, I'll probably just go with the MiniPla. I DO hope TokkyuOh gets a black and gold repaint. A unified color scheme would look a lot better than solid, primary colors. EDIT: Or as I should've said. "Yeah... I think this is my stop." And get off the hype train. |
Tempted to go DX for these guys, just need to see some more pics to fully sell me.
As far as the minipla goes, as long as they have elbows they'll already be considerably better than most of the Kyoryuger line. |
Am I wrong or did they just remold the weapons from Go-Onger and hope no one notices?

This is about the toys. If you'd like to talk about the show you can do so here.

that mech is... underwhelming ._.
|
This thread got stickied, but the Gaim thread didn't? Whaaaa
Also yeah, I REALLY wish I could get behind these toys, but they just don't look good. The Megazord, ehhh... |
The real question is, whats the movie toy going to be?

This. Or this will be their modes of transportation before summoning the Resshas :lol |
The only way they can earn my trust with the mech now... is if it combines with Den-Liner! >_<

Why does Tokkyu-Oh look like that KO Thomas the tank engine combiner?. I don't not like I thought it was odd. All the other auxillary trains becoming weapon attachments for Tokkyu-oh is pretty cool aswell so I think I will keep an eye on this line to see what they get later on.
|
Aside from the minipla, which I still want to see pictures of, I wont be gettin much any of this. Im not as big of a train person as others and until I see the show, I wont care for the changer and such.
So now to start loadin up on Kyoryuger! :lol |
While I am normaly not a train person myself I wanna buy something just to support Toei/Bandai in doing more non animal themed sentais :lol
|
I've said in the other thread, but I actually like the mecha a lot. It feels different, and while the results may not be as good as they could be, I give PLEX/Bandai props for trying a new transformation. While I liked Kyoryujin, it didn't look fun to me, but this guy looks like I could fiddle with him all day.
I think the main issues are two: -As part of a strategy of appealing to train collectors, the individual train mecha are kept very realistic, mostly intact and free from robot parts. I admire this as the individual trains are all very nice looking, as are the auxiliary ones. I honestly have not seen Super Sentai mecha resemble real-world vehicles to such a degree in a very long time. However, this gave the toy designers less room to experiment with transformation. -The rainbow motif. I think this is the biggest culprit: Quote:
My only issue now is, where the heck does he store that sword? You better not make it a separate accessory a la ShinkenOh, that's such a turn-off! :lol |

So I'm the only one that wants some Den-Liner in this?

One thing, I heard that the mecha themselves are the collectible gimmick this year, and they are used in the henshin brace thing. While it sounds great, wouldn't the trains be massive on your arm?
|
Quote:
I kinda wanna do that for my set. But Ill see when I fond out about the ratios sizes and proces of boxes :lol |
Quote:
Heck, I'm willing to bet this could contend for the biggest/heaviest wrist changer ever. |

|
Yeah the Changer looks to be one massive thing...so I probably gonna love it :lol
|
But I though the changer was only using parts of the rangers trains, not the whole thing, so like one section goes on the changer, so Im hoping its not much bigger than the Gaburi Changer.
|
Its the front part of the Train that gets loaded in but still the toy is going to be pretty big. Not long but big.

Wait guys, if the Trains themselves are the gimmick this year, the hell are we gonna do for Gashapons and imagine how big the dang Candy toys are gonna be :lol
