DX Gokai Oh Gallery
27 Attachment(s)
If you haven't been following Tokunation's year long tribute to Power Rangers 20th Anniversary, then here's your chance to jump in on our coverage! This month our tribute turns to Power Rangers Megaforce & Super Megaforce and to celebrate we're bringing you galleries of the ENTIRE line of DX mecha from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger!
Today's gallery is of the Gokaigers main mecha, Gokai Oh! The central gimmick of this line was opening compartments which could house future mecha add-ons. These "Grand Powers" of previous sentai split into multiple components which could either fully fill the Gokai Oh's compartments or in some cases replace the limbs of it entirely. The dial on Gokai Oh's back hits triggers in each limb as it's turned and opens the compartments in sequence. An additional cannon accessory can also be mounted within the chest and can be activated by the spinning dial gimmick. If you'd like to, check out the differences between this figure and it's US counterpart the Legendary Megazord then check those images out as well. But that's not all! Good enough to eat even! I really wish they would've used their individual zords in Gokaiger. Looking at them here, they seem to be quite detailed. Something I missed in the show.
I need to repurchase this. So sad I sold mine :(
Ah Gokai-oh, he hasn't been around very long and yet he's already a classic. :D
A lot of people dislike how hollow this guy is without the upgrade mecha. But I really like it as a stand alone robot.
What an awesome Megazord to get one day.
I still kinda want one. Though I'm pretty determined to not collect mecha. The only one I'd consider is G-12.
Though this gallery does make me want SRC Gokai Oh even more. Been eyeing that figure for ages. Comes and goes from various shops for decent prices too. |
I'll probably look for the SRC version of this.
SRC Gokai Oh just wasn't my thing. The proportions were really odd on that one.

This design has grown on me, I'm thinking about getting the Minipla version. |

Yeah, but there are worse options. |
Looks real nice but Im not sure if I should go into DX Mecha collecting. :/

As beautiful as he looks I can really only afford the BOA release, but still an awesome Mech
I love gokai-oh, too bad they gutted him for the u.s. release.
I never really got into Gokaiger, but after seeing all the pictures of the BOA release I can't help but notice how stunning this version looks. BOA version doesn't necessarily look bad, but this one just looks more... complete. I love the shade of yellow plastic used in this, looks nice and rich. As one who also collects Transformers, you see quite a bit of bland yellow with all the Bumblebees being released nowadays.
GokaiOh still has one of my all time favorite designs. Kinda sad that I sold mine.
I wonder if there's a chance of Bandai repacking this for the states like Shinkenoh?
I mean I know we're getting a Japanese Goesei Great somewhere down the line right? |
i love gokai-oh, only problem with him was the holes in the limbs. kinda ruined it for me but im not sure why
If they end up bringing this over like Shinken-oh (which is looking like a slim chance because import Gosei Great is non-existent) I'll totally buy it.
For now, the Legendary Megazord will have to do. ;_; |
Didn't even read the title and I thought the Megazord looks pretty good. Then I realized it was GokaiOh and not the MMPR Pirate Megazord or whatever they're calling it.
I still need to pick this guy up again. Just gonna stick with the Korean version though since thats the cheapest route for this mold. |
recently got the us version, not a bad figure in all honesty
I will find a SRC version. And I will pit it against Crossbones Gundam. Because that fight needs to freaking happen.
I still don't get why they couldn't include the cannon on the BoA version.
An awesome giant Robo.
So what do you think it would have been like if GokaiOh was a Galaxy Mega-style toy? A Tramsforming Pirate Ship? |
This is a great looking figure, still going to pick up the Legendary Megazord, but if I could afford it I would get this.
I really like this mecha. even more then my childhood megazords (that escalated quickly.)
Did yours have issues with the opening gimmick not working all the time? Seemed to be a common issues with Gokai-Oh.

I love my gokaioh. I really enjoyed everything from the gokaiger line. Gojyujin especially.
really gokaioh with an opening issue thats odd had mines for a good while and nothing wrong with it atm.the american one its so so in my view
When I first heard about Gokaiger being semi pirate based, this is pretty much what I pictured. It was a nice surprise to get the opening gimmick and the other sentai teams involved.
It's a really nice mecha. Good aesthetics and pretty nice individual molds. Cool stuff.
Now...I don't collect this stuff, but even I have to admit that this dude would look pretty badass on my bookshelf.
Ahhh, good old Gokai-OH. You gotta love him. Even if he has some weird zords to him :lol
Ah, my favourite mecha of all time. Always a pleasure to have in my collection, and a solid combined form.
It's one of the more interesting looking Megazords from recent years. Would have been interesting to see what an entirely pirate themed one would look like, but this does have enough to get that across. Might just be me, but I remember thinking the yellow zord was a treasure chest the first time I saw the design. At the very least the cab of the truck certainly looks somewhat like one.
You know, when I first saw Gokai-oh I was a little disappointed that it wasn't five pirate ships combining but it really grew on me after a while.
The only strange part about is honestly the big rig and the race car. Like a submarine makes sense, and so does the jet when you remember that they're space pirates. But the rig and car stick out like a sour thumb in terms of the mecha theme.
