SRC Daizyujin Confirmed for release by Bluefin!
 

For the past week, Bluefin Tamashii, the North American Distributer of S.H. Figuarts, Super Robot Chogokins, Soul Of Chogokins, etc., has been hinting at possibly bringing over the Super Robot Chogokin Daizyujin to the states. They have hinted on thir twitter account, their facebook account, and even to people at attendance of A-kon 23, but now, the space witch is out of the dumpster, Daizyujin is coming to America!

Bluefin Tamashii just announced that Super Robot Chogokin Daizyujin will be coming out Oct 2012 for $60.99.

For those of us here in the western world, Daizyujin is no other than the original Megazord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!

This is great news. Already got mine pre-ordered from amiami but this is just good news for the property and will hopefully get a point across to saban.

The price is a bit steep but worth it. What I noticed was the facebook post said "small to medium retail chains" will carry this. TRU maybe?

More than likely local comic shops like the one I work at. Comic stores all use the same distributor (Diamond) and they get imports like this through Bluefin. If they can get it to TRU that will be awesome but as is I can safely say Ill snag one at work :)

You know what would be awesome about that? Having a RyuuseiOh and posing him next to my Serpenterra toy from the 90s. :) The scale would finally be perfect.

This thing truly is beautiful. I'm so glad I was able to snag a pre-order for one. I mean, I don't like these figures so much so some reason, but this one I just couldn't say no to.

What's surprising though is that Saban allowed a distributor to bring it over. It's one thing that they're bringing over Red Hawk because Jetman's rights aren't with Saban, but this is smack dab in the middle of what Saban has the rights to.

I heard someone somewhere saying the Shinken Red and Gold Figuarts didn't do well here (I'm sure being TRU exclusive didn't help much) so maybe Saban has a deal going here knowing that people want it, but this makes for less of an investment for its release.

Well they did mention comic shops separately. That's probably how I'll get mine unless it goes up on Amazon or comes out in time to buy it directly at Bluefin's booth at NYCC.

I think if SH Shinken Red/Gold didn't do well at TRU, it's because most parents perusing the aisles probably didn't know why those figures cost so much more than the regular Bandai America PR Samurai figures. We collectors know, but parents don't. So if they're child just wants a Samurai Red figure and isn't old enough to appreciate how much better the Figuarts are, then for a parent, a Samurai Red for under $10 is going to seem like a much more worthwhile purchase. Hell in their eyes, they're probably thinking, "wait this Figuarts guy costs more than the Samurai Megazord...".

In my area the Figuarts sold well initially, there aren't many left if any at all, but they did seem to replenish often during the holidays.

I hope it comes to Toysrus. We lost the good comic shops in Phoenix and I have not really looked for a replacement.
