still not sold on Tokkyu Oh(not till I see more) but I do think the rangers look good in toy form and I do want to see how their gimmick works on the show

Ah,so the numbers switch when they want to use different members weapons.Just seems like their focusing on Kamen Rider and not Sentai.Some of the parts on the Mecha look unpainted.(the cars for example,and even the weapons for the figs).I hope I'm wrong and that theyre just early prototypes.

I don't even get the point of this gimmick, it just makes the weapons less special. It's much cooler to associate a Ranger with their own specific weapon, so they have a speciality and defined role on the team, than to simply let everyone use anything.

It's the Transfer Transformation gimmick, Norikei Henshin. One hero can load the Resha of another into their Changer in order to use their personalized weapon and abilities. The numbers rotate on the figure to facilitate any ranger using any others abilities. In show their numbers will stay the same while the suit changes.

I have to agree. In a way, it gives the ranger a bit of character.

I'm not a fan of any of these. Not digging the weapon swapping and the mecha still hasn't warmed up to me.

No matter what the "enthusiasts" say, Sentai isn't a particularly strong storytelling medium so making members of the team 'the guy with the sword' 'the guy with the axe' 'the guy with the gun' is a cheap way to create characterisation without the need for actually creating it. And it works in context because most sentai is all about the action, so we can quickly associate who is who and what they are about, and that is fine.

So unless this is gonna put in deep focus on the characters and the plot, and reign in the action like Kamen Rider does (to an extent), I can see this show ending up almost as hollow and vapid as Megaforce.

So what's the point of this? How does it benefit them in battle to change powers? If two rangers trade, then you still have two rangers with the same two powers. The purpose of this needs to be explained more.

Don't worry. Much like the Beast Battery gimmick, it will fall to the wayside by 5 episodes and never be relevant outside of the very special occasion.

In a situation where you need brute force you can have 5 yellows all with powerful hammers. Or if you need to barrage a monster with firepower then you use 5 blues with their personalized blasters. It may not be entirely practical but I see no reason it wouldn't benefit them in certain situations.

Are you still on that? That thing was used 3 times in the entire series. Sentai has done FAR FAR WORSE!!!!

Hell, we had the Buddyroids for 50 episodes.

Anyway, are they planning to add any detailing to the trains? They look so bland.

I think the figures look decent, but not quite to the level of the Rider gimmick lines yet.

Mecha looks nice. The auxiliary mecha are pretty cool too, but they don't seem to be doing much in combined form yet (which is pretty similar to Kyoryuger, all things considering).

If the writers are creative I see no reason how it can't be cool. Any gimmick can look cool if done right.

I seriously don't get your hate for Go-Busters, but I can't fathom your love for Dairanger either, so I guess I'm like the anti Dr Kain. I'm just as much of a poopooer but I love all that you hate!

It just kills the intrigue, though.
Rather than setting up the monster so that Yellow can have the finishing blow, Red can just shrug, become Yellow, and do it himself.
And considering how Red-centric recent Sentai have been, I'm afraid of Red now having the ability to literally be a one man Sentai.

My hate for Go-Busters just comes from the fact that I found the show so god damn boring to watch. Like Dynaman boring.

The other piece comes that I found the buddyroids to be absolutely useless and annoying.

As for fifteen episodes in, they used the thing in one episode, its premier episode.

If we're optimistic, this could force the writers to give proper characterization to each Ranger to make them more identifiable. Instead of relying on their weapons, abilities or powers, they would need to be distinguished by strong personalities. That is, if we're optimistic. :lol

I actually like kinda like the mecha (not so much for the price BBTS has it listed for) but the number changing bit on the figures seems a bit silly to me.

I'm kind of intrigued over Dynaman, now. A team about dynamite and explosions is boring?

I love Go-Busters, but it's quite different to a lot of sentai that I've seen, which is probably why I appreciate it (as I'm not a big sentai fan) and other sentai fans weren't so hot on it.

The Buddyroids do kinda suck given their hype at times, but I did think that they worked well as characters and I enjoyed their dynamic with the team. Although J was legit awesome.

I use farts to embody the shitty batteries, like that tickle one or the one that makes things flaccid.

I'll keep my hopes up, but I'm not gonna raise them that much :lol

Better not. Getting hopes up is the death of all Toku shows. :lol
