What Motifs would you like to see in the future?

Space and medieval knights are at the top of my list.

Cowboys.

Cowboys with hats moulded into their helmets and spurs that can be used as weapons.

I will say this every year in every thread that comes up until it happens :lol

One moment. *Walks down into his out Fallout Vault, closes the big door, activates the PA system* Kzzt There we go. Okay. The next motif I'd love to see is.. Dinosaurs! MORE DINOSAURS!

Failing that.

A three tier animal Sentai. A team of three based on Sea, a team of three based on Sky, and a team of three based on Land. With a Sixth/Other team based on Fantasy. All going to the same goal. No Kaiju. Just hot Mech on Mech action.

Sentai for the last forty years has basically been recycling the some same five ideas, sometimes merging them to create something sorta original, but really a lot of the shows motifs are the same, so it'd be so cool for them to do something totally different.

The whole use of six shooters is rife for a collectors gimmick, as they could put in like six different bullets each with their own unique power. And then the Megazord could get a giant robot horse that it could ride!

While a proper space theme would be great, it gets a little problematic when I start thinking about it. I mean, even the most out of this world sentai have been all about Earth, and the kids, Earth problems. Pretty grounded really, and easy to get into because you have that window into the action.

To have a real space sentai, about space duh, would confuse those things, make it more difficult to have an anchor point. Not impossible to pull off, but knowing the higher ups they'd try and cram it all back down to Earth and we'd just get the sentai version of Fourze...

Unless of course that would be great ;)

If they did a sentai version of the first fifteen or so episodes of Fourze, I'd be one hundred percent game.

Hey, it was silly, but I kind of enjoyed it... not as much as the stuff that came after it though ;)

Medieval knights would be fan-flippin-tastic.

I actually thought the first quarter of Fourze was near perfect. As it actually made genuine use of its settings and themes, to create genuine drama and strong characterisation. It was only when Fourze decided it wanted a plot half way through its running time that the whole thing crumbled, for me.

Knights would make for a cool Sentai series though, but I dunno how you'd get around the whole armour thing, since that is kinda Kamen Rider's gig. Although a giant castle Megazord would be SWEET.

Eh, visors, chain mail ... It will be made to work! :D

I would love to see another car themed sentai. We really on only got one and carranger was not very serious one. (total forgot about turboranger)

Make a Sentai version of In Space/Lost Galaxy and it should work. :)

You're not wrong there. Mind you I can't remember In Space, and Lost Galaxy looked like Earth the majority of the time...

Still I just wish they didn't try and set everything strictly on or around Earth, so we could actually get our space motif. If decades of SciFi can managed really out there novels and short stories set in, I don't know, 30,000AD and never lose sight of the goal of examining the human condition, then I'm sure a little thing like Super Sentai can manage it, don't you?

If it's things we already had, another Ninja or Martial Arts Sentai would be great. I'm totally into that very asian stuff (not that I'd not like more Samurai, but Shinkenger hasn't been too long ago, so it's better to let some more years pass before we get that again).

Also, something very focused on technology like Go-Busters or Jetman would be cool too. We had so much Fantasy in Sentai over the last years while the early years were all technology, so why not try that again?

Have we had a proper serious Ninja Sentai? I know both Hurricanger and Kakuranger are both basically comedy shows, so I don't know whether a serious Ninja Sentai slipped through cracks? If not, I'd love a serious Ninja Sentai. Perhaps following a sentai team in the past, as a bunch of ninjas who guard their small town from enemies, from the shadows!

Did I say Dinosaurs yet?

Really? Again? We've had three Dino sentais and from the consensus none of them were really that good.

The toy sales from Kyoryuger would call BS on that :lol Kyoryuzin was one of the top selling toys in Japan, and far outshown Go-Buster.

I would like a medieval themed sentai too, but it's true it will be in KR territory (especially after Gaim where everybody got some armor).

Toy sales =/= good show. I know that is all bandai cares about, but I care about the quality of the show itself.

Actually I've heard more or less all good things about Abaranger. Too bad the subbers seem to not like it that much. :(

I'd honestly like to see a Insect themed sentai. Would love to see something like a praying mantis mech.

Oh really? It's a shame then!

It was alright for the first few episodes (5 I think?) then the good subber dropped it and the whole thing became completely unwatchable and flat out terribly translated.

Vegetables.

Trading card games, kind of like Goseiger just without the angel motif.

Oooo, yeah, that could be interesting. Just trying to fit that into Sentai in a way that doesn't make it seem like Kamen Rider would be half the fun!

Before anyone says Goseiger did it well again, I wouldn't call that a trading card game as such haha

A return of Ancient Cultural Creatures. Dairanger, Magiranger. Something like that.

Since Dai was skewed towards Chinese and Magi towards European, perhaps the next one could be South American creatures, like Quetzalcoatl, or...Anyone else :lol

Would be cool if the Rangers were the cards. Like rather than morphing, the hero plays the Red Ranger card to send him into battle. You could have individual characters with their own teams.

I'd be down for that. Maybe one from each country.

Why not? Sentai is already Red and the other ones, this way they can just do it literally and not pretend the show is about teams.

Well okay it isn't every team :lol but for every Go-Busters there is a Kyoryuger.

Isn't there an Avengers anime coming out doing that exact thing?

Musicians, I have always wanted a true Musical Sentai, give one of them a trumpet and we are set.

I dunno? But if there is, colour me excited.

I wonder how that would work, since aping Hibiki's style would seem like the lazy way of using instruments in battle.
