We've teased. We've played with your emotions. And now we play with your ear drums and your sanity. Introducing the very first podcast from your administrators here at TokuNation.com... Talkin' Toku at the Nation Episode 001 has been released. Join three of your four administrators (Kickback, Den-O, Sentai Tamashii) for some hearty discussion of the recently revealed Ressha Sentai Tokkyuger! Once we've gotten "Train-bow" out of our system, we touch up a little bit on our favorite series in years, Kamen Rider Gaim. Then we discuss the relaunch and what users can expect (oops...), discuss the Toku Toy Box Give Away contest, and bid farewell till next time. Here's the details. Host: Chris (Kickback - @rankal) Co-Hosts: Jordan (Den-O - @DenO_Tokunation), Tom (Sentai Tamashii - @SoulinkChu) Length: 01:01:41 (One hour, one minute, forty-one seconds) Size: 56.4 MB File Type: .MP3 Intro Music: "Unraveling" by Sevendust Outro Music: "Cosmic Mind Instrumental" by The Astronauts (something went horribly wrong when I imported the sound file but I loved it so much I kept it!) iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/...on/id777151607 Or just search "Tokunation" on iTunes. Libsyn Link: http://tokunation.libsyn.com/ Direct Download Link: http://traffic.libsyn.com/tokunation...Nation-001.mp3 If you'd like to send an E-mail for a user question to be read on show, go ahead and post it in this thread. We'll have an E-mail for you to send too if you'd rather not have it in the public. Please note: We had some recording issues that caused a slight echo that we tried our best to edit out but in some cases could not - it involved muting a lot of "quiet" parts for some of our hosts/co-hosts. I am pleased to say that this issue has been corrected and will not be a problem in future episodes. But please be kind, this was our first recording that we've gone through the entire edit process with. Please be kind as we work out the bugs in future episodes :) Thanks!! |
was hoping you guys would start something like this, cant wait to listen!
|
As I said before, you did a great job on this guys! :D
|
Let it be known that I accept the Trainbow and welcome it's fruity goodness!
|
Know the Brony, Taste the Borny.
|
Nice, something to occupy my ears when I'm driving home. Thanks for the aural distraction.
|
This was great! I can't wait for more. Awesome way to kick off the new update. One question though: Can anyone provide a link for the funny TokkyuOh picture they were talking about?

Can't wait to listen!

I'm only doing this because it was requested and it's our relaunch AND it's our first episode.
This is the funny picture in question. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1386706077 |

Oh, good heavens! :lol |
Thank you sir. *snickers*
|
That was quite entertaining.
|
"Are we getting into Brony stuff?" "STEER BACK, STEER BACK!"
"You just turn the ass end around and there's a hole there." Aaaaaaaaaaand you've earned an iTunes subscriber. |
Don't have time to check it out right now, but I will later on.
|
Have you guys ever had a toke air on your birthday? I have, Kyoryuger aired on my birthday.
|
I think you kids need to get me on this show.

Serious question though: How is the rest of the Super Block doing in Japan ratings wise? Saint Seiya Omega, Doki Doki Precure and, um, the thrid one who's name I don't know. I know that the first season of Omega was universally hated by fans but the second season is doing ok. No idea about how Precure and the other show are doing. |
Aww, I would've loved an April Fools gallery of the Thomas Combiner. :(
|
I have to go to work but the first 20 mintues Ive heard you guys are doing great! "Tokyo... TokkyOh" :lol

That was awesome! Great job you guys. I cant wait for the next one now!
(Insert shameless plug for being on the show here) |
We hope to have the next episode out by this weekend (but alas, no promises, gotta love REAL LIFE and all that!)
|
Listened on the drive home, enjoyed it quite a bit.

Talking about Gaim, I think that we are going to discover that there are three worlds and the forrest sits between them. The worlds represent the three roots of the Yggdrasil (world tree). The battle we see that the very beginning of the series took place in a second mirror world where just about everything has fallen apart and is in a constant state of war (one of the roots). The forrest is the actual Yggdrasil connecting different worlds (or realities) and the Mai we see is one of several völva (a shamanic seeress). She has seen everything that has come before. The inves are the native creatures of the Yggdrasil that gain power from eating its fruit.
As for the true villain, I'm going to be that Cid (or Sid?) is actually working for him/her. It would not surprise me to see an Kamen Rider Odin as the big bad since that's who's in most of the stories about the Yggdrasill. Of course it's all speculation at this point. It's also just as likely that this forum will be taken over by bronys. |
I really like ir. Hope you guys can do more because toku podcasts are scarce besides RRR
|
Really fun podcast guys, I'm all aboard the Train-bow. :lol

For the first few episodes, I wouldn't expect us to deviate too much from the Henshin Heroes, not until we feel like we have a solid footing on the ground (still kind of flying by the seat of our pants). We're going to be bringing in a rotation of a 4th host eventually, and based on time constraints for myself, Den-O, and ST, we may have subs running in on certain episodes. Still way too early to tell right now. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We were very nervous how reaction would be, as this is a "first podcast" for all of us - exception being the one or two episodes I was in on WTF@TFW2005. |

Gave the podcast a listen yesterday (mwahahaha mod perks) and really enjoyed it. The camaraderie and format worked well. An episode with the technical kinks worked out is going to be great. |

That's good to hear that you are looking into the weird corners of Toku everyone else is always on Rangers and Riders and never anything else. It's nice to know that's on the table. If you are looking for hosts, I'm well versed in Tokusatsu, I'm hard on Keita Amemeya's (GARO creator) work. But if you want to get into local heroes I know a little about that. Sea Jetter Kaito, created by the father of Kamen Rider, Sataro Ishinomori is a nice place to start. |
It's really awesome to hear everybody's been enjoying the podcast. We really had a lot of fun working on it and want to continue to do so!

Enjoyed the episode. Hope you guys can do more.
|
Oh you guys had to mention the possibility of the clips breaking and now I'm sad. :(
|
-Great first episode. Looking forward to episode 2.
-Tokkyu in the context of trains can be translated to Express as in Express Train. -I think a mailbag segment where the hosts answer questions on this site's forum via mailbag thread would be nice to have |
