Worst Kamen Rider?
I know alot of this is going to be Decade (For good reason) but still. What would you all say was the worst done Kamen Riders?
Personally I'd think Black RX. Seems like they wanted to do a sequel to Black so badly that they forgot that they actually had to write it and then panicked. But then I'd also vote Wizard. Haruto was emotionless (Yes he said he never smiled in the show because of seriousness or watever, but I think that was the writer's covering for the actors inability to emote like a human being) and the show was just.. bland at times. Except for Phoenix, Medusa, and Gremlin. And then Decade. Decade had great ideas that never delivered. They never really made good on the Rider War, never really gave it a decent ending, and wrote the characters in a way that was just... Onore-Decado. |
Of what I've seen: Kabuto.
|
I'd also have to vote for Wizard. The series is dull and lifeless; afraid to take any real chances.
|
Its gonna be said, but I havent seen enough pre-Decade riders or any Showa to say, but Decade. It didnt try to have an ending, if Tsuakasa had amnesia, why didnt he get it back? Who the hell is Narutaki? Will Kaito ever quit wanting to steal treasures? Why did all the worlds have to be SO differnt?
Theres my Decade rant... Take it away Matrix! :lol I would say Wizard, but Ive kind of given up on it. Ill finish it one day. |

Wizard's failings with me stemmed to the characters. The defense for Haruto is so nonsensical I'm surprised anyone can say it with a straight face.
"Nothing is wrong with Haruto. The problem is with the viewers who are used to over the top heroes so a subtle one is something we can't comprehend." Such a bullshit excuse to defend a character who can't break his monotone even when he's about to let a man die to save an already dead girl and an actor who can't even make ordering a donut sound believable. |
While Decade is a mess, I simply don't want to rewatch Kiva like ever again, so I'll probably go with that.
You'll always be my first Kiva, but you sucked. |
Wizard. Wizard himself was boring in and out of costume, the villains were laughably idiotic despite being painted as looming threats. (Medusa was especially a checklist of how NOT to make a threatening villain)
Runner up is Kabuto, but at least it had cool suits. |

My first was Fourze. And I loved every damn second of it.

Kiva worked for me at the time I watched it, but it truly is a trainwreck. Wasn't Decade one of the first you watched? |

The next series was Decade. And you all know my opinions on that. :lol I don't give a series bonus points for introducing me to a franchise. ...Unless it's Godzilla Vs. Megalon... |
Are we talking series or character? Because I want to say ZX's special was the least favorite thing I've watched of Kamen Rider and that was mediocre, it wasn't bad, I was expecting more and still worth a watch. The Manga tells the story much better. I started with OOO and I've loved every series I've watched so far.

My point exactly, a lot of people defend a certain show, movie, etc. for being the one to introduce them to a franchise, but personally I find that to be irrelevant. Seems like the two of us went thorugh two bad shows as our firsts. (Kiva and Decade for me.) |
Decade was my first...and the only redeeming points are the Rider War and W...Wizard I have to say is the worst because I have ZERO interest in finishing it. I loved the design, but no drive to finish the story...

Wataru. Useless little bitch who ran and cried in his bathtub every time he got dragged out of his room. And then he tried to abort himself.
Nothing is wrong with Haruto. The problem is with the viewers who are used to over the top heroes so a subtle one is something they can't comprehend. |
Dragon Knight.
|
I guess Kabuto. I watched a fair amount and then just stopped. Tendou is like the biggest asshole ever to his "friend" Kagami. I guess Decade is close as well but I do enjoy the suit design more than Kabuto's so he has that going for him at least

I haven't finished Wizard yet so I can't talk about hating it.
Haven't seen Decade but it only had 31 episodes. Its like asking a kid born 2 months premature why he isn't as good at basketball as his cousins. There's some leeway that you need to give. Kuuga is my answer, but if I find a worse one I'll tell you. You have this interesting setup of the origins of the Kuuga powers and the infighting of the Grongi but what do they do? Focus on random side characters and not the villains or the main characters. All story potential is swept under the rug in favor of two parter focus on kindergarten kids , or a female character we never saw before talking about her fears with her child, or a girl who's really good at the flute. The only times the story went from terrible to decent was the episodes where Yuuske got the upgrades and some of the endgame Gurongi that could change forms. Even the upgrade stories didn't have the hero being beaten down and rising up to beat the bad guy with his new power trope. Yuuske only got the rising forms by accident after getting hit and needing a shock to the heart. Hell, the Amazing Mighty arc was just him saying, "I'll just get another shock to the heart then" no trials or tribulations, no overcoming an enemy from the new found inner strength the hero has. In the last episode, 49, all the characters stand around and its boring epilouge stuff, as if the writers are trying to say, "Yelp, that was a good series, so let's look back." |
Shin. I don't really have a good reason, I just hate his Fatality finishers.
|
Of the shows that I have watched in its entirely, it's Wizard. So much wasted potentials.
Otherwise it's Decade, cuz I couldn't stay interested long enough to finish the series. |
of the ones I have seen I don't know. I had things I liked about them all. decade could have been done better even though I like its concept. decade is a rider that needed more episodes and better writing to make it better. I am surprised no one has mentioned the rider who had Ferbus as a companion.

So besides Tendou, who I kind of liked the way he was, why do people not like Kabuto?

It's a very disjointed story. It's overly complex and throws twists that the audience weren't privy to and the story didn't hint at. Following it can be a headache and if you weren't a fan of Tendou, that means the main character is also grating to watch. I like Tendou and Kabuto, but I can see why others hate it. |

I will say that when they tried to add stuff, it felt forced and forgot other stuff. One thing I remembered was weird was the Hopper brothers, they came and went like noones business :lol |
I'm on the Decade bandwagon. It was hard to follow, hard to understand motivations half the time, the changing around of all the worlds (i.e. Wataru as a kid) made no sense to me, and his 'transforming riders into weapons' thing always kinda disturbed me.
Biggest letdown though goes to OOO. It developed a lot of great characters and ideas, but at the end just seemed to squander a lot of them. It's hard to explain exactly, but I don't feel that a lot of the ideas were really used to their fullest. I just came away with this feeling that "it could have been more". I haven't seen past halfway through Fourze so I can't comment on anything since then, though I can't take the suits of Gaim seriously enough to say I'll ever watch it. Not even Deneb being the belt can save it for me and he's my favorite character in Kamen Rider. |

Def Decade. From the story to the suit designs,I just didn't like it at all.His final form was the worst thing I've ever seen in suit designs.I get why it's cards, but it looks like a kid splashed him with glue then just through a bunch of rider cards at him.

And no wonder why the plot basically revolved around her but she was gone for, like, 10 episodes :lol |

De de de de de de decade!!
It got everything wrong be it the treatment of the multiverse, the sudden inclusion of EVERY Kamen Rider series, to its lack of an ending even in its endings. |
I love Decade Complete, but I have weird tastes. Also I absolutely love Kabuto one of my favorite series.
