DX Gokai Machine Gao Lion Gallery
 

Today we've got another treat for you from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. DX Gokai Machine Gao Lion is based on the same character from Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger. At least the toy is. In series context this literally IS the same Gao Lion from Gaoranger. Once the Gokaigers gained his approval he descended from Sky Island and became the latest Gokai Machine!

This figure while based on the character and original toy, is more of an homage to the over sized BIG DX Gao Lion. It's almost a match for the size of that release but more importantly it homages the massive Gao Centaurus mode that the original BIG Gao Lion could create. When used with Gokai Oh that form is known as Gao Gokai Oh.

When the Shinkenger keys were used while Gao Gokai Oh was formed, Gao Lion underwent a transformation to become a full set of armor components and Shinken Gokai Oh was formed! This reveals the massive Reka Daizantou that made up his torso and hips as well as the kanji symbols placed around his body. This specific placement of kanji of course hoamges Shinken Oh. So Gao Lion actually winds up being a double homage to both Gaoranger and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger!

Of course like the DX pat Striker it features an electronic gimmick. Demonstrated briefly in the below videos.

This is the one i want the most out of the Super megaforce stuff.

Always though this was one coolest machines since it combined to sentais

Ooh, finally, we get to see my favourite Gokai Machine! I considered just getting Gokai Oh and Gokai Lion to display in Shinken Gokai-oh form but didn't like the idea of leaving the legs out with no where to go. The one thing I was disappointed about was that you couldn't use all the parts for the final combination. Was a bummer. But I may still consider getting Shinken Gokai-oh someday, or even all of them if I can.

This is easily my favorite Gokai machine, Shinken GokaiOH looks fantastic, and i really can't wait to get the super megaforce version.

Pulling double duty like a boss, this is my favourite Gokai Machine. He's a big ol' kitty with a Samurai zest!

I dont know, I still love the american version better.

Going right along with alot of others, Shinken Gokai Oh was my favorite version. I will end up with the BOA one. 1 thing i was really hoping they would do in Gokaiger was a new megazord made up of the other grand powers, ie combining pat striker magi dragon, gao lion and the rest. Ah well.

While I'm never been big into Centaur modes, I love the other two, really cool figure.

I like the Samurai mode more then the Centaur mode.

About time you did the coolest Gokai Machine!

Same here. The BoA one has more... flair? uniqueness? Not-just-symbols-in-colored-squares-ness? I'm not sure how to describe it.

I have to get one of these now.

If anybody wants a comparison between Gao Gokai Oh and Gao Centaurus, this is the best I can do. Based on the immense size of Centaurus they won't both fit in my light box :o

Gao Lion really is one of the best Gokai Machines. He has an awesome lion mode and Shinken Gokaioh? Excellence for a Sentai robo. He does suffer from not being able to use the Gokaioh legs (a flaw he shares with Macholon) and Gao Gokaioh isn't one of the best modes out there.

Still he is what he is: a double whammie of history and playability.

This one is shaping up to be a must have toy.

Anything Gaoranger is awesome, and I have always that Shield Liger style mane... Pure awesome!

I love the shot of them together. Like one big happy lion family.

At the time this came out I thought it was simply brilliant - a great way to get out more homages but with only one release. The Gao GokaiOh really was uninsprired... but hey, Gau Centaurus was a thing, so it still makes sense. But then turning Gao Lion into Shinken GokaiOh was so smart, even if the Gao Lion chest mixed with the fire kanji is a little off-putting. I think it would have been cooler if more of the Gokai Machines followed this model (Machalcon notwithstanding) of being usable for multiple forms.

i wanna know why they used the lion for a samurai gokai power. yeah it turned out but still a really odd choice

Definitely the best gokai machine. although i like both modes, shinkengokaioh is my favorite.

Love shinken gokai-oh, but this is an instance where the super megaforce looks cooler and more like samurai armor to me.

This guy broke my rule of not buying auxiliaries. :lol It's Shinkenger and GaoLion, how can I not love it?

The lion is a really nice, hefty size and feels worth the money. The Gaoranger combination is simple, yet effective and the proportions are quite good (they aren't always, look at Wolzard's centaur mode). The Shinkenger one is what takes the cake though, a really impressive size (goes right to the top of my Detolf shelf) and comes with really cool weapons.

My only nitpick is how many leftovers there are once the combination is done, but this is a fault of the Gokaiger line as a whole, not just the GaoLion combinations.
