Those synopsis just get weirder and weirder.
I'm so excited for this show, simply because it's nice to look forward to each week. Also, the Christmas game. :lol |
Caught the live stream raw earlier, very very awesome needless to say :D
|
Loved this episode. And I haven't even seen the subbed yet. Loved the Bravo/Baron battle. Can't wait to see the translation.
|
We all gotta note though- Bravo's reaction to seeing Zangetsu in action was hilarious :lol.
|
Aww man, can't wait for this ep now!
EDIT: WOW, that may be the best episode yet. Even without subs, it was clear what was happening. And boy did stuff happen. |

"Remember we can't lose any Sengoku Drivers" :lol Kurokage's ninja chant was hilarious as well. Between that and Bravo's shimmy I just lost it.
Like I said after watching the livestream, this episode throws plot upon plot at you wrapped in a fireball of awesome fights. Kouta blowing his cover yet immediately being told important plot details, Bravo falling head over heels for Zangetsu, Hasse and his total badassery while fighting Takatora, the generally epic Suika fight. This episode really had it all. Oh, and DAT preview for next week. Can't wait for Energy Riders to start appearing! |
Episode 11 aka Zangetsu beats the shit out of everyone. Bravo was super hilarious this ep. I think I may..have woken some people downstairs up with my laughter during the scene where he looked all starry eyed at Zangetsu.
Gotta admire Kurokage's determination. But...with his belt destroyed, what happens to him, is he not a rider anymore? They dropped a lot mor ehints about Yggdrassil's plans, but nothing concrete. Judging from Sengok's look of glee watching the invess, I feel like Zangetsu' the only one really into the whole "Yggdrassil will save mankind thing". And I reallly wanna know what Sid's lockseed does now. And man that preview! When's the next ep, in two more weeks?! Bah... |
This was a season finale, hands down. The narration at the end of the episode almost made it feel like the end of the series.
Absolutely brilliant writing and story-telling. This is quickly becoming my favorite tokusatsu series of all time. Every single aspect keeps me wanting more, waiting on every scene, and timing my weeks among "only xx days till the next Gaim is out". I have given this series a 5 every single episode. The Arms Change figures are selling out and being resold at ridiculous prices, to the point Bandai can't match demand. If there's perfection in something I want to see tokusatsu related, this show is it. Anyone who doesn't give this show a chance is missing out on quite possibly the greatest thing of all time. So much love for this show. |
I hate when shows go on break for holiday T_T
Solid episode with a fantastic lead-in to the next major arc of the season. God damn. Wondering if Kurokage is going to be offed or possibly end up as our mystery third energy rider, or just another Yggdrasil experiment (hence the clones or whatever they are). And Bravo further cements himself as my favorite/second favorite rider of all time (right up there with Zolda). He was amazing this episode. From the gestures to him swooning over Zangetsu to kicking some ass. |

And can't wait for the "Energy Rider Introduction" arc to begin! |
Well I must say this is so far the best episode. I like of how the scientist tell Kouta the entire rider thing. I like it of how Kurokage's belt gets ripped, but next week with my theory.
When Kurokages belt got cut my theory made more sense. When a riders belt gets cut empty Sengoku Drivers are placed and you would be come Kurokage. But all in all I now EXTREMELY want AC figures simply because of Suika arms and "the troops." |
Wow, like wow. Every bit was amazing. Fantastic fight scenes, and Zangetsu is simply frightening.
Plot is moving, Kouta knows about Yggdrasil now. Kurokage is out of the picture. Baron is falling lower and lower in the rankings he holds so dear. Micchy displays more calculative ingenuity and even some ruthlessness in blatantly stealing all those Lock Seeds. And my favourite bit, Kouta continues to be heroic, saving even those who treated him like a guinea pig. |
Bravo suddenly reminds me of XW1n5t0nX. :lol
A fantastic episode. Then again, that is to be expected. |
That was the best ep ever. Just about my only complaint is that either the writers or the subbers REALLY need to look up the word "synonym." Everybody refered to the Riders as "guinea pigs" regardless of their mannerisms or speech patterns, which was odd. Figured a "test subjects" would pop up once.
But seriously, if that's the only thing I can find wrong, that's amazing. This show is amazing. I love how we got a buttload of exposition, but not ALL the exposition. Kouta found out basically what the audience knows, but wasn't exposed to all the details and why's and how's. |
I thought the first half of the episode honestly kinda sucked. Baron and Bravo's fight was meaningless, but not in a good way. And rather than feeling like it just stepped out of the pages of a comic, it felt like a Let's Play of some Japanese fighting game.
The two Rider's largely stood on the spot and bashed each other with generic attacks until they dropped a generically animated special move, usually followed by the losing player hitting all the shoulder buttons to access their rage mo-I mean the Rider actives their Arms Change for a second wind when on the edge of defeat. You could argue that this generic by the numbers plotting of the fighting is true of all tokusatsu and I agree, but Baron and Bravo felt like they were really going through the motions. Thankfully then, the second half of the episode picked up some slack. Gridon and Kurokage's fights have more energy, and personality and are probably some of the few comic relief characters I actually appreciate. Kouta is one of the best protagonists ever, and despite fighting a horde of foot soldiers, his fight was actually way more thrilling than that opening fight as he chained his powers together and used his head. But the true centrepiece of the episode was the brothers colliding. In such a complex web of characters Zangetsu feels a little generic and clichéd but man that battle was glorious. Overall not the best episode of the show, but it was certainly as fun as I've come to expect Gaim to be. |

....Whoops, spoke too soon. |
So this is almost everyone's favourite series now already? Awesome :D
As everyone's said already this was an amazing episode. It's gotten Kouta up to speed with everything that's happened so far, had some amazing fight scenes (I still love you Zangetsu) and everything is set for the real action to start. Cannot wait for the next episode! |
The greatest thing this show has done is be predictable up until now.
What do I mean by this? Well, in any other rider show, we would only have this many riders and this much plot exposure more than halfway into the series, not 11 episodes in. Because everything I thought would take the full show to develope is happening now, like Yggdrasil advancing it's technology, Kouta learning the truth about the Invess games, I thougth they'd be would be mid-season reveals. Now that everything I predicted has happened now, I totally have no idea where the show will go from now outside of a few ideas. This show is so well-paced, so streamlined, so excellently staged I feel like, well, like Kickback said. I feel like this is a seaosn finale, and we've just hit full speed! |
Oh my JUICY!
That was amazing! The fights, Kouta gettin pissed at Syd and Yggdrasil. All those lockseeds! This was possibly the best episode yet! |

That was a great episode. The fights were fun and non-stop but we still got a ton of plot advancement. I loved how Bravo reacted to Zangetsu and hope that comes up again. Curious what's going to happen with Kurokage now that his belt's broken.
|
It'll be interesting to see what the fallout of this show is after two decades of tokusatsu elitists claiming that for a series to be fifty episodes, filler is a necessary evil.
|
Interesting thought, Kurokage's lockseed has the "Rib Bone" patern when opened, just like previous kamen rider henchmen type character (Shocker Combatant, Masquerade Dopant etc)

Play time's over....

It still isn't better than OOO for me yet but it's topped Wizard, which was my second favourite Rider series.
|
At this point, it's surpassed Fourze for me, and you guys know how much I loved Fourze. The only thing that Fourze has on Gaim right now is that the characters were much more fleshed out. We still don't have much characterization of Kurokage and Gridon - everything we've focused on has been Kouta, Kaito, Micchy, Mai, and to an extent, Zangetsu. Special nod Pierre Oren Alfonzo who did get an entire two episodes dedicated to him more or less.

I liked how Zangetsu uses the shield both offensively and defensively. Loved watching him throw the thing like Captain America.
The episode for next year looks like it's gonna be an explosive one so I can't wait for that. |
