That one season you didn't want to end.
If there is a thread already like this in existence, feel free to terminate this version. But as I couldn't find one, I decided to make one myself.
What is that one Sentai season you watch and LOVED that you wished would never end? Be it your first season ever that introduced you to Super Sentai that you have a fond attachment to, or just a sentai you started watching that blew you away, I wanted to know what you guys and gals might pick. For me, I think it might be a "introductory season" attachment, but I personally loved MagiRanger and would often watch almost five or six episodes in one sitting during the summer when my first laptop was broken. By the time it reached the end of the show, I just didn't want to see it all end. It was just a great show with a good blend of comedy and heart to it. It still hurts when I listen to the instrumental "softer" version of the show's theme...it also hurts to watch Mystic Force because I can't stop comparing it to MagiRanger and calling it out for being crap compared to it, but that's another story. :lol Anyway, what about you lot, what's the season that you loved so much you wished it never ended? |
The season I never want to end is the seaso happening right now. I love Kyoryuger, and far as I'm concerned they can keep it going for another three seasons.
Certainly more interesting to me than tasting the Trainbow :lol |
i never wanted akibaranger to end, even though by the time i watched it it had already ended.
also go-busters, forgot to mention that. |
Gokaiger. That kind of awesomeness should continue forever.
|
Without a doubt, Goseiger.
|
None. NO matter how great a series is, all great things need an ending.
|
Dekaranger is honestly the only one I felt could just go on and on. All the other ones I loved had such great endings that I'm happy with what we got.

Gokaiger
|
Gokaiger comes closest. I wouldn't have said no to continuing longer and making Legacy episodes (and maybe mecha) for every series. That said, I'd still want it to end. One of the appeals to Japanese media to me is that almost everything gets an ending. I hate when a show has been on for years and then just stops or ends on a cliffhanger.

I loved loved loved the cast of Gokaiger. They had a cynical, slacker, punk rock attitude but were still good-hearted, genuine heroes. I could watch that cast forever, and for me the cast is what defines a sentai show more than anything. A similarly great cast, one that approaches the idea of sentai with the exact opposite sentiment of the Gokaigers, are the Kyoryugers. They unabashedly embrace the idea of sentai and all its silly tropes with a near-zealous brio, but are equally charming and fun to watch. In fact, more than anything I'd love a team up series between Gokaiger and Kyoryuger. Their diametrically opposed attitudes toward being a sentai would generate some interesting conflicts. But that said, no story can go on indefinitely, and generally I prefer the way Japan handles a story by making it utterly finite. |
Tensou Sentai Goseiger. Not the whole series. I would just love one more movie as Epic has Goseiger v Shinkenger, with Brajira making a triumphant return.
|
Gekiranger was already perfect. Making it go on would give it the same issue so many series suffer today. It would tarnish perfection by becoming a farce of what it once was.
So, if there was one series that I wish would've continued, it'd have to be Kakuranger. I haven't seen past episode 10 or something, but screw it. I love it so much that, if I were the Toei exec, I would've cleared it for a season 2 at that point :p |

But yeah, I'd pick Dekaranger, too. That show was great and it could honestly still be running today as some kind of weird tokusatsu/police procedural hybrid. Also, I want more Umeko. |

Kyoryuger, I don't care if it hasn't ended yet, I don't want it to end.
|
GoKaiger...but I don't want to Kyoryuger to end either.

You speaketh the truth about Gokaiger and Kyoryuger. Gokaiger's only fault is some of the filler episodes which can be quite atrocious. But the cast is excellent and I was sad to see it end. Kyoryuger is also a show that I wish can continue on. In fact I'd even be ok if there's one episode where there is no fighting, just all the Kyoryugers having a picnic or BBQ together with Candilera and Luckirou and having fun. |

Gokaiger. It was the first Sentai I ever watched all the way through, including all the movies and the specials. I'd kill to see it make a return in some way, maybe make "lost episodes" that had tributes to previous Sentais they didn't have time to do.

+1,000,000,000,000,000 - Infinity I wish they would have kept that one going on. They could've had it running alongside the other series. http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...ty-d5evrji.gif |
I'm super curious why everyone is wanting Gokaiger.

I admit, I don't really like Super Sentai in the first place, but... Gokaiger was decent all up until Gai showed up, and then my interest fluttered away. |

For most of us, it is the one Sentai season that we watched, LOVED, and wished would never end. Quote:

This is coming from the perspective of someone who disliked Gokaiger, so I'm curious what about the series would make it worth continuing beyond it's conclusion (Which was already a good finale). As the phrase goes, all good things must come to an end. I can cite points where people who watched and loved Simpsons now wish it would end. I watched and completely adored Gekiranger, but I knew that I had to let it free. And Gimmicks end. Ranger Keys and Ranger Batteries will soon fall to the wayside of the next big collector's gimmick. |

If you didn't like Gokaiger then you wouldn't understand the "Why." |

"Why?" "Because I loved it" That's what the conversation boiled down to. You answered fuck all. |

Now for me? The one show I didn't want to end? Gaoranger :( I always felt there was more to tell. |

I might get some hate for this but my opinion I wished Shinkenger never ended like if it went on explaining more of the past Shibas and what not.
Runner up is GOOOOOOOKAIIGEEEEERRRR. Gokaiger had a nice gimmick(which the American keys have done nicely since I can't stop flipping them) and the suits, me has we're all nice. Now if it continued I would of liked to see more Megazords and see more of Aka red. To be honest Dino Samba hasn't caught my interest lately, like the show slowed down quite a bit, and I think I'm a bit behind, by like two weeks. |

I just thought the cast and characters were awesome. Even if the villains (other than Basco) were weak. And I'd like to see more of them, partly because they sometimes got the short shrift as the series focused so many of the episodes on past sentai teams instead of the leads. |
Gaoranger.
