Power Ranger Top 10 You Wish They'd Done Different
 

All these Top Tens had me thinking. In all the seasons of Power Rangers, what are your Top Ten things you wish they'd have done different. Casting choices, plot devices, absolutely anything. Let me start us off by giving mine.

10) Samurai - The obvious choice. I wish they would've deviated from the original script by just a little, instead of just translating the scripts and redoing shots frame by frame.
9) Dino Thunder - Trent. I wish he would've been evil throughout the series. He made a truely good asshole and it was ended just as it was getting good.
8) Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers - I kind of understand the need for it between MMPR and Zeo. But honestly.. I just didn't like them.
7) Forever Red - Not the whole thing. Just the cheapness. Reusing old suits from Big Bad Beetleborgs, Cole defeating freaking Serpentara by flying into the mouth! .. Inviting Eric. QUANTUM IS NOT A RED! >_<
6) Operation Overdrive - You took Boukenger and made that. ....
5) Megaforce - Vrak is perfection, Metal Alice was amazing, but then you try cramming a 48 episode series into 24 or so and give us .. This. Drake-Sama's last battle alone made this a WTF. (And no, RoboKnight isn't as great as Gosei Knight but.. He did get better.)
4) Ninja Storm - Cyber-Cam -_-
3) RPM - Not the shows fault. Disney gave up and wanted the franchise to die in some ill-concieved attempt to torpedo Saban when he got the series back. But coming on 5 am didn't help anyone.
2) Lightspeed Rescue - You know the Demons coming can't stand water so you build this huge multi-national multi-billion dollar base beneath the ocean. And no one stopped during construction to think "Hmn. Guys? Who decided we should have one access road to the mainland? They're just going to break in there and destroy us." "It's okay, Jerry! We won't tell them where it is!" "... Who hired you people?!"
1) Johnathon Tzachor - Haim. Fire this dofus. Just.. just fire him. Hire me, I'm cheap, I work for toys. Just fire him. For the good of humanity!

10) Samurai - have Bulk be the infamous Shinken Brown. A true, true shame they passed up on that.
9) SPD - Omega Ranger actually be a person
8) Mystic Force - Stray away from the "Nick" storyline that plagued the second half of the series
7) RPM - That they would have kept the original EP's story that Dillon was going to be the final form of Venjix, and the Rangers would have to stop their own to defeat Venjix once and for all
6) Megaforce - Change the theme song
5) Zeo - A proper finale
4) Turbo - Billy as the Phantom Ranger
3) Lost Galaxy - Do more with Karone than what they did
2) In Space - Included past Rangers in the big final battle (civilian forms)
1) Time Force - The original ending the writers wanted but was rejected (Jen stays in the past with Wes, proving you can create your own destiny)

I'm not good at top 10s. So I'll just give basic list in no particular order:

10: You couldn't use Captain Zahab's suit because of Gingaman Vs GoGoV being filmed during early LG production, fine. But once you could, screw Scorpius and his flying earwig and get the Pirate.
9: For that matter travel to The Lost Galaxy earlier on on the damn show!
8: Electonic Talking Circuit Toy. That is all.
7: Include the Cephalozord in the Mezodon Megazord set and theElephant Wild Zord in the Ultimus Set.
6: Add new English lyrics to the Sentai themes instead of recycling the MMPR theme ad nauseum. Yes it's a badass tune, but we want something new damnit!
5: Have Chip as the Red Mystic Ranger. As I've said before, he looks more like he popped out of Udonna than Nick ever did.
4: Try and negotiate with Nickelodeon to drop that stupid-as-hell 20 episode BS.
3: Give the Submarine Drivezord and the Ape Folding Zord both a hinge joint that makes a sideways elbow so that the final combined forms don't look so lopsided.
2: Have Toei void the "no-skip" rule a o that we can at least shuffle seasons.
1: HIRE AMIT BAUHMIK TO TAKE OVER TZACHOR'S POST!

I have just one, and it goes for Samurai and Megaforce. Stop this Super split the Sentai into two season crap! Especially with Megaforce and Super Megaforce. Make them their own damn shows!

That does bring up a very good question. Do the Zeo Powers still exist? They were never really destroyed.. they just became Turbo.

Yep. Tommy still has the Zeo Ranger 5 powers as of WF, and there was no mention of the powers during DT, so until we're told otherwise, the Zeo Powers (And zords, mind you) are still intact and just sitting around.

Seriously, someone should go to the old command center and dig up the Zeo Zord hangar. There's like, 12 zords just sitting around down there :lol

Why the villains haven't figured this out amazes me. Seriously, they could have a freaking powerful as shit army by now! :lol

That would make a good idea for Gosei to use when the Armada is attackin, why not go grab some more powerful zords? :lol

Gosei's Alpha (I forget his name)" Sir, we're being attacked by a large fleet of the enemy's ships. They outnumber us greatly! Whatever shall we do!?

Gosei: Hmmm....send in the Zeo zords. That'll get the job done.

Tensou, and they were ungodly overpowered weren't they?

1-MMPR S2, they're not using dinosaurs any more use the dairanger suits. and make new coins or just use the aura changers.
2-Alien Rangers, just make them the sole focus of season 3, have the other rangers incapacitated for the whole thing. also get rid of the voice, it was and still is dumb.
3-Turbo, why did they have to give up the zeo powers? no real reason is ever given (as far as i can remember).
4-Wild Force, give forever red a much more satisfying conclusion. even as a kid i never liked how serpentera was beat.
5-MMPR S3, ninjor's voice.
6-Ninja Storm, keep the thunder rangers out for a bit longer into the season, showing up in episode three was way to early.
7-SPD, make the omega ranger an actual person.
8-Lost Galaxy, why were the lights of orion on terra venture?
9-Various, why does the moon have such a hospitable environment, was it something rita did or has the moon always been like that? if it has, why did the astronauts need suits when they were there?
10-SPD, some sort of explanation as to why the blue senturion is there.

My one thing don't have MMPR be 3 seasons. It always bugged me.

I think one alone would probably be able to conquer the world.

Sorry, but Pyramidas is with Trey of Triforia. The 12th Zeo Zord in the hangar is the Warrior Wheel. :p

Anyway, my 10 changes. This isn't an order of least to greatest, these are just the order that they come to mind.
1. Drop Cyber Cam entirely from Ninja Storm.
2. Completely rewrite the 2nd half of Dino Thunder. It made a promising series turn into a completely terrible one the moment Trent became good. I know they wanted to mirror the Green with Evil saga, but at least they had footage of Dragonranger actually helping the others so it was clear he was good. But in DT? Oh, White Ranger is cloned and the Drago Zord is under his control, but Trent is still good, though. So...Dumb. Also, get rid of Haley. Seriously.
3. This isn't aimed at a series in specific, but don't include civilian powers if they don't show up past the first 5 episodes. It's kind of a big plot hole for why a character who can walk through walls can suddenly get cornered by a villain.
4. Make Mystic Force focus less on Nick. He was boring and having the series focus so much time on him made it a pain to sit through.
5. Operation Overdrive. Just...All of it.
6. This one is aimed less at a season, and more towards Saban, but break the deal with Nick. You're a fucking billionaire. I'm sure you can survive to find a network that won't have such backward ass decisions in airing and scheduling.
7. Remove the homages to MMPR from Megaforce. People like little shout outs here and there, but when people are having to defend the acting as "That's what it was like in MMPR, they're intentionally performing like this," it's gone too far.
8. Disney, please. You bought Marvel and you brought salvation to those comics. You bought Star Wars and after the prequel trilogy the only real direction to go is up. Disney, please take Power Rangers back. If you could take Star Wars away from it's creator, Lucas, surely you could do the same with PR and Saban. Disney, you're our light in the darkness! Rescue us!
9. Make the Alien Rangers the focus of MMPR S3 entirely. Just remove the voice filter and have Billy science up disguises so they don't have to have fishes on their heads and go nuts. The Kaku suits are so beautiful and the Zyu suits stop looking interesting after 3 straight years. Why do we only get the Kaku suits for 10 episodes?
10. Make Forever Red the 2 parter it deserved to be. Seriously.

I'm fine with pretty much everything that happened with Power Rangers, the ONE THING I'd do is do whatever it takes to get every last actor/actress who ever played a Power Ranger back for Super Megaforce. (Well, almost everyone, maybe not Samuell Benta after that stunt he pulled and just do with him what they did for Tommy in the SPD/Dino Thunder crossover episode)

1.) Have The Dragonzord be Re-built into another zord or used once or twice in Dino Thunder or at least explain its disappearance.
2.)Explain Crouger's snout disappearing when he Morphs(seriously what happens to it?)
3.)Explain the ditching of the Zeo Powers or bring them back as a near god tier power in Super Megaforce given that the powers get stronger over time.
4.) Eject Operation Overdrive from the cannon.
5.)Nix alpha 6 let it stay as alpha 5 or just make a new character.
6.) Make Super Megaforce its own series, come on Saban I want to see you work to explain Space Pirate Rangers.

Sadly I don't really have any more things I'd change on the top of my mind than those.

10) Mystic Force - Just replace Madison outright. Awful character, awful actress, awful everything
9) In Space - Drop the stuff of them in school. Kinda killed the whole "chase into space" desperation of it all.
8) Megaforce - Make a new final battle with the Warstar so it utilised what the rangers had rather than obviously be based off an early Goseiger episode
7) Wild Force - Make Forever Red a 2-part episode
6) Mystic Force - Don't let it become the Power Rangers equivalent of Kyoryuger (aka the Nick show)
5) Samurai - Use the Shogun mode more
4) Zeo/Turbo - Beetleborgs Crossover
3) Operation Overdrive - Not make the whole thing suck
2) Ninja Storm - Not make the whole thing suck
1) Zeo/Turbo - Have a proper transition

I'm not usually one to draw Sentai/Power Rangers comparisons, but I'm far far too loyal to Urara to tolerate Madison :p

After I start and finish Shinkenger I'll watch Magiranger and then we'll see!

Madison is just all of Urara's plot points with all the relevance taken away from them, plus an "I LOVE YOU NICK" added at the end for good measure :lol

Another thing I'd change is Lost Galaxy in it's entirety. The concepts make no sense, the title is a lie, and it's just piggybacking off In Space's success, and I hate that it does because they refused to remove the Earth themes while forcing the series to be a space show.

I've got ten changes, but in no particular order. Most, if not all of them, is basically what everyone else has already said:

1. Give us a proper explanation as to why the Zeo Rangers had to become the Turbo Rangers, when in the Wild Force episode "Forever Red" Tommy still had his Zeo powers working just fine. There was nothing wrong with the Zeo powers, why change the suits and the Zords anyway? I could understand if they ran out of usable footage from Ohranger, just have the Ohranger suits pilot the Turbo Zords and fight the Carranger monsters. You did that for Mighty Morphin' seasons 2 and 3 with the Zyurangers fighting Dairanger and Kakuranger monsters, so it wouldn't be too outrageous.
2. The stupid, stupid, stupid idea of having each Sentai being split into two seasons for Samurai and Megaforce. Saban, you own one of the best boy-toy franchises on Earth; tell Nickelodeon they can shove their 20-episode, Halloween and Christmas specials per season idea up their asses.
3. Give Samurai and Megaforce their own themes instead of rehashing the "Go Go Power Rangers" theme. Look, nostalgia's great, but some of us older fans would like to see something new happen in Power Rangers.
4. Have Samurai deviate from Shinkenger more instead of it being a carbon copy of the source Sentai. It's one thing to Americanize a show from Japan, but it's another thing entirely when you're just doing a shot-for-shot, straight translation into English remake.
5. Ignore the "no-skipping a Sentai" bullcrap. Had Samurai and Super Samurai been a one-year thing like every other season of Power Rangers, the Gokaiger adaptation would have happened in 2013, with the Goseiger adaptation airing the year before. Speaking of Goseiger and Gokaiger...
6. Don't combine Goseiger and Gokaiger together for one big season. I'm sorry, but I think this is just a dumb idea overall. Keep the two separate, have no Ranger Keys in Gosei's command center, and just have a different (and more competent) cast of actors for both seasons. Call the Goseiger season Power Rangers Earth Force and the Gokaiger season Power Rangers Pirate Legends.
7. Get Amit Bhaumik back, and make him the head writer for the show.
8. Fire Jonathan Tzachor.
9. Make the Omega Ranger an actual person and not a ball of energy.
10. No more homages to Mighty Morphin'. Again, nostalgia's great, but give us something new. At the very least, give a shout out to past seasons.

Do Ninja Storms season with the Hexagon idea.

Let's see, Top 10...

1) Get rid of the Masked Rider Stuff from MMPR3. I get why they did it, but it was so different to the actual show.
2)Explain what the hell happened to the Zeo Powers. Otherwise the fandom will keep coming up with crazy explanations for why the hell they aren't still around.
3)Jungle Fury's ending. I don't know why, because I love the rest of the series, but it bugs me how Jared just jimps, and then the main three do stuff, and we have animal headed masters... why?
4)In the same veign as Masked Rider, the TMMT crossover. Yes it happened, you can't deny it, but you wish it had never happened.
5)Megaforce- make it a full series, taking place after Samurai's one year run following RPM, not having a MMPR Recut with comic book graphics, followed by two years of Samurai. Basically, sort out the scheduling issues.
6)Make Lost Galaxy about the Lost Galaxy.
7)Give the original rangers a better send-off in Turbo. And Zordon and Alpha.
8)Cyber-Cam
9)Make Sam (SPD Omega, who had a name) an actual character. That means not a ball of light
10)He thing I would change the most: Operation Overdrives villains, Red Ranger, plot and civillian powers.

People may hate me, but I thought that episode was seriously bizarrely awesome. Sure, Ninja Turtles is a questionable series in TMNT's history, but how is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle/Power Rangers cross over not awesome in a "I can't believe it exists" way? If I knew about it as a kid, it would've blown my mind. It was just one episode of many and its very unique, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it.

The crossover's idea was nice, but the Next Mutation was just not good to begin with, which is why everyone dislikes the crossover :lol

1) MMPR Season 2 - Tommy is once again stripped of his powers and the original 5 are cursed ending up as inanimate stone statues. Tommy must then lead a new team of power rangers consisting of Rocky, Adam, Aisha, and Kat to rescue his friends and save Earth. This is where we use the Dairanger costumes and powers and finish the season off with the original 5 and the Dairanger season 2 teaming up to finish Lord Zedd.

2) MMPR Season 3 + MMAR - Have the Alien Rangers as five Aquitar teens who have seeked refuge in Earth with the help of Zordon and Ninjor. The season ends with them liberating their homeworld and saving Earth.

3) PRZ - I don't really mind Zeo, but say that the first two ideas above happened, I would like to have the team set up by a new cast of rangers set up as direct descendents of ancient civilizations because to be honest, I never knew that Yellow and Pink's mechs were Dogu and Moais until I saw Ohranger.

4) PRT - START OFF WITH TJ, JUSTIN, CARLOS, ASHLEY, CASSIE AND GIVE IT A HAPPY ENDING WHERE THEY DEFEAT THEIR BAD GUYS PROPERLY AND NOT LOSE THEIR POWERS. Just to make it a bit more car-related have the five be in the same metal shop class.

5) PRTF - Deviate from Timeranger more.

6) PRNS - Take out the Samurai out of Green Samurai Ranger(Shurikenger). Make it Green Cyclone Ranger or something.

7) PR SPD - GIVE OMEGA RANGER A CIVILIAN FORM INSTEAD OF A SPLIT SECOND APPEARANCE IN THE LAST EP. WE WANT A POWER RANGER NOT A CYBER ELF FROM MEGA MAN ZERO.

8) PR OO - Make it more James Bond Jr. and get rid of the whole Moltor + Flurious sibling rivalry mumbo jumbo.

9) PRS - I would have had Jayden set up as the caucasian kagemusha who was adopted by the Shiba clan, deviate a bit instead of COMPLETELY Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V ing Shinkenger stuff, and make Spike the Gold Ranger. Oh yes, BRING BACK SUSHI CHANGER.

10) PR MF - Don't use the Goseiger stuff at all and start it off with Gokaiger. They could have just said that the Goseiger counterparts were the previous Megaforce who honorably sacrificed themselves. I just HATE that we are getting Gokaiger as cheap power-ups for PR.

Moltor and Flurious were two of the best parts of whats already an awesome series
