What toku to be adapted in english?
If a toku was to be adapted in english whether in America or Canada, which toku(s) would you want the most to be?
And how would you plot it along with the characters and themes? Since VR Troopers was adapted from some Metal Hero series' & Beetleborgs.... how about........ ex. - Chou Seishin Series: Gransazers, Justirisers & Sazer X - Madan Senki Ryukendo - Tomica Hero: Rescue Force & Rescue Fire - Ultraman: Tiga, Nexus - GARO - as a drama series for young adults. Like (The Vampire Diaries, Grimm, Once Upon a Time & Teen Wolf) |

I've seen Garo, but I just an adapted GARO for an audience of teenagers & adults (young & old)! But NO nudity!
And what of the Chou Seishin series? |

On a side note, I would like to see Rescue Force. |

What I would enjoy is IFC or Sundance Channel (Who don't edit things for content) getting a hold of Garo and showing the whole series. Garo, or even Kamen Rider. Start that from the beginning and dub every episode from every series. |

You can't really bring Garo over like any other kind of tokusatsu. The armor scenes in the average episode are too short to create much workable footage. It would end up like all those scenes in Masked Rider where you can clearly see Tetsuo Kurata or ZO. Honestly, if Garo ever came to the US I'd want it to be subbed, not dubbed. I like your IFC or Sundance idea, because I know those stations would probably do that. |

Remember when Toonami brought over Tenchi and actively advertised it as an action series?
I wonder if they'd bring over Garo with that kind of bait and switch. |
They will have to rewrite GARO completely in their own language for localization.
Chop suey clip show won't work because it is a show heavily based on supplementaries. Unless they are going to translate and release all the books it will be hopeless to introduce the world as a whole. Standalone series is meaningless. Rescue Heroes on the other hand may work because it is more on the product driven template show. Chouseishin series will be on the cult toku section. Not everybody can take it after watching all the Toei format shows. |
I say if it was the team behind smallville or the Spartacus TV show. Spartacus team would work due to how the made the show for late night tv and some mild nutity I think it could work just the right team needs it

I'd like to see Ultraman adapted.

It should be given another shot.
Oh, and bring Armor Hero over :lol |

Eh? It wasn't good per say, but it was that terrible 70's dubbing that we laugh at now especially since the Speed Racer team was behind it. So it's at least fun to mock for its obvious crappiness at least. |
My mistake. I forgot how they bastardized Crayon Shinchan over at AS.
But still, I prefer watching MMPR on Realplayer than censored GARO. |

The books are SUPPLEMENTARY, not integral. |

Can Saban adapt the Chouseishin series differently from VR Troopers & Beetleborgs?

If it is going to be the rest of the series then I will say no. Garo stories were written based on the bit and pieces of information taken from the supplementaries. Without those there will be thousands of "why" coming from the viewers. Unless there are additional information given on screen to cover up all the holes nobody will understand why things are being thrown in without warning or explaination. |
There's a mild problem with the Garo discussion.
>Adaptation >Not translation If Garo was brought over, things would change. Stories altered, characters added and removed. |

The original Ultraman received an English dub in the sixties (as were several unreleased episodes of Ultra Q by the same group). Ultraseven has been dubbed into English twice, once for the Hawaiian market and later for the more well-known 90s TNT Ultra 7 series. Ultraman: Towards the Future wasn't really an adaptation as it was a series specifically made for the Western market, but it's worth noting, as was Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero despite never actually airing in the US. The last Ultraman adaptation was Tiga, which first aired as a terrible 4Kids dub and then received a fully-subbed release on DVD. Tsuburaya has never wanted Ultraman to receive the Power Rangers style of adaptation. They were okay with it for Gridman and Syber Squad was actually more successful than the original, but they have always wanted Ultraman characters to receive greater care than that, thus the creation of Great/Powered and the filming methods introduced in Ultra Galaxy that were supposed to aid in supplementing new actors around the existing footage (sadly, no one bit). The garbage Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters series was actually supposed to be an adaptation of the Ultraman-tied series Andro Melos, but Tsuburaya pulled out when they found what they were in for, and the zero-budget looking series is the result. |
Keitai Sousakan 7 could work
