Well we have the Dragonzord and Thundersaurus Megazord in the thing too. If the Dragonzord is still chilling in Angel Grove Harbor and Time Force probably knows everything about Dino Thunder because Future (and didn't bother to kill Lothor, Mesagog, Grumm, etc. because of Time Paradoxes or something) they probably took the Q-Rex schematics and modded it to resemble other T-Rex Zords because....

I think this is pretty cool, actually. I can see why they're going the route they're going - everytime the zord was summoned in Gokaiger, it came from the Time Force HQ (complete with the zord that hits things back in to time). But that would mean the Quantum Ranger is ... in the future?

Well, they could have picked a worse name I guess. Interesting that they're even bothering to keep it's origins though.

What? Their just gonna call it Q-Rex? I mean yes Gojyujin was partially inspired by Time Fire's V-Rex but also by AbarenOh & Dragon Caesar. Are they just not going to address the other homages in Super Megaforce?

I was pleasantly surprised with it and actually okay. It's certainly a good way to explain a lot about its appearances in the show. I was a little iffy on the implication that it's literally the Q-Rex, not a rebuilt one or anything...

Then y'all had to ruin it by mentioning the other homages Gojyujin had. And how it completely ignores them. Now I won't be able to ignore that.

But we must remember it's not Gokaiger. They can and seemingly are going to completely change the origin entirely and not even have the scene with MMPR Green and DT White. Could totally just be with the Quantum Ranger and *poof* it works for this story.

I like the name. Though I'll wait for the hopefully inevitable retrofire-styled figure.

Hmmm, I guess calling it the Q-Rex makes sense, but I really can't see Sagan passing up the chance to tie it in with the Green Ranger.

This is what I'm scared about.

We know that Dan Southworth didn't do any footage in New Zealand. He might do ADR (I never thought that they could contact previous actors for ADR work) but that still seems unlikely.

The name was probably given to work with the footage. Anytime GoZyuJin was called forth, it was sent from the Time Force HQ. With the big push of Green Ranger MMPR merchandise this year (Legacy Dragon Dagger, Legacy Dragonzord), it seems silly to try and say the "T-Rex mode is inspired by the Dragonzord", and the White Dino Thunder Ranger wasn't anyone special in the PR franchise, so to name it the "Q-Rex Megazord" is actually a neat change of events, and gives more opportunity to play up the Green Ranger later on (which we know they do in Legendary Battle).

But in the ep where the Silver Ranger explains where he comes from, I can see it being a simple "Oh that? I got it from the Legendary Quantum Ranger, from Power Rangers Time Force".

Only thing I take from that. "We wont see Eric." But I do hope they actually have Sulver know and explain where and how he got it.

Quantum Ranger homage? I'm cool with it.

While you saw Gozyu Drill flying over the future city and entering a portal, the Providas Base and the the Providas Mecha was never actually seen in Gokaiger.

I'm meh on this decision. Seems bizarre to nix the Ultimate Powers, but with 20 episodes there was never really any hope of the Ultimate Powers being a major part of Super Megaforce. I guess in some ways it makes a bit of sense to make Q-Rex be the most prominent of them.

Tommy is in the damn finale not Eric, and they... The Dragonzord Damn It! ... Saban you never fail to disappoint me. For once, I wish you would.

At least it isn't Dragonzord 2.0. Now that I think of it, they should call it the Q-Dragozord. That way it sort of combines the 3 rangers' zords names.

I never understood the homages before in Gokaiger.

Time Fire - A space ship drill
Dragon Ranger - a T-Rex mode
Abarekiller - a Megazord

Now, I get the Abarekiller homage more, simply because the robot design is very similar to what you saw in Abaranger. However, Dragon Ranger had a Dragon, not a T-Rex (I get the whole "dinosaur" homage, I do, but still). So it doesn't surprise me that Saban decided to nix the other two homages in this Megazord and stick straight with the Q-Rex (who had a T-Rex mode AND a Megazord mode) and just add a "drill mode" to it.

Gojyudrill
Timerangers built Gojyujin and it's literally housed at Providas Base in the future when not being used. The Drill modes' homage to Timeranger is more in spirit than anything as a time travelling mecha built by them. However this mode also references minor design cues of the V-Rex. The ranger key used to activate this mode was given to Gokai Silver by Time Fire.

Gojyurex
An homage to Zyuranger it's clear this mode is meant to evoke feelings of Dragon Caesar. It definitely captures the feel and menacing look of Caesar in show. It's obvious that's where the design cues for this come from. Maybe hints of V-Rex but it's explicitly stated to be a Zyuranger Grand Power. The ranger key used to activate this mode was given to Gokai Silver by Dragon Ranger.

Gojyujin
An homage to Abaranger this mode definitely comes off looking like a brother to Abarenoh. It's meant to evoke AbarenOh not necessarily Abare Killer himself, he's just the representative of that sentai. The ranger key used to activate this mode and infact the Gokai Silver powers & Cellular were given to Silver by Abare Killer.

Ramei Tank?

GoJyuJin's Dino mode also had those baby-makin' hips with tribal-ish designs and big ole toes like Dragon Ceaser too.

I understand why they're calling it Q-Rex, because it launches into battle the same way as most the Time Force mechs. But Quantasaurus never launched from the future. Did it? And it's an obvious homage to Dragonzord. I just don't understand why they didn't call it Neo-Dragonzord or Q-Dragonzord or something like that.

Still. Looking forward to seeing the actual ZordBuilder toy. It was a parts builder to start with, so it should translate easy enough. Which is why I hope it's the first Megabloks from Megaforce that can become all the modes and not just Robot. It wouldn't be that hard.

I cant wait to see how this turns out. I honestly think it will be weird to call it Q Rex when they use more than Time Force keys in it.

I think this is a neat decision. I don't get why people are bothered by the removal of the Dragonzord homage, as I always thought of Gojyu Rex as more of a homage to the Tyrannosaurus in Zyuranger than Dragon Caesar. If they are gonna deal with Ultimate Powers (which I doubt), it means that MMPR can have something more significant than just being a form of a zord.

I'm with you here, it never made me think of Dragon Caesar either. As a Zyuranger homage it made me think of Tyrannoranger far more than Dragon (activation key aside).

As for the name? I'm cool with, a Quantum Ranger homage is never a bad thing.

It did at first and from then on launched from the past into the present.

Honestly I understand why they did it. Assumedly all non-mecha Ultimate Powers will not receive episodes because of the 20 episodes limit, so I can get why they'd choose the make Gozyujin also an old mecha rather then an outlier, because it makes less sense if all the other powers are mecha.

He needs to be smacked really, really hard for multiple reasons.

Anyways to be on topic, I love that it's being named after the Q-Rex and it makes a lot of sense.

They could've done the same thing though by saying that the Time Force rebuilt Dragonzord, Q-Rex, and White Dragon into a single Megazord.

Well the Quantum Ranger's powers are from the future. He doesn't necessarily need to be present to be involved with the Zord. Especially when they can contact the future and vice-versa whenever.


I remember seeing it once...


When Time Force started, they used the Q-Rex to test the time gate. It went through and was lost in time along with the controller box. Normal people would have used a probe or something LOL!

After a quick check, the Providas Base was seen at a distance in Episode 18 and Episode 40 as GojyuDrill flew over the city and entered/exited a time portal, but the Providas Mecha was never seen in Gokaiger. Every other episode showed GojyuDrill emerging from a portal into the present without showing the future.

Is it, though?

Because before now I NEVER thought the blue dino from Gokaiger looked like the Dragon Zord in any capacity. What similarities exist are too generic, and the largest, iconic aspect of the design like the head crest and gold sheild parts on the arms are not present.

Actually, it makes sense. Sending a tiny probe doesn't mean you'll be able to send anything else. Considering the time travel was being developed for large ships and Megazords, it only makes sense to test it with something resembling it will actually be transporting.

Just because it may work at small scale, doesn't mean it'll work at large scale.

That seems needlessly over-complicated.

They don't need to homage everything in everything. having it just be a new Q-rex is cooler than some convolted multi-homage that doesn't even come across.

Gozyu Rex is a homage to the spirit of Zyuranger mecha (although Tyrannozaurus and Dragon Caesar especially). Gozyu Rex is not specifically based on any Zyuranger mecha, the fact that Dragonranger gave him the Ultimate Power (alongside the other three dead sixth rangers) and that it has a drill tail are happy coincidences more then anything. It is not in any way meant to actually be Dragon Caesar, unlike Gaolion, Magidragon, Patstriker and Fuuraimaru.

Right, I'm just saying I remember seeing it around.
