Kamen Rider Gaim Ep 13 - "The Friendship Tag Team of Gaim & Baron" Poll & Discussion
Previously on Kamen Rider Gaim...
Kouta agrees with Micchy that they need to stop turning in to Armored Riders to stop Yggdrasill, but Kouta can't stand to watch people be attacked by Inves, and continues to transform! Micchy and Kouta are now at odds on what to do next! Is this the beginning of Dark Micchy? Kaito and Team Baron challenge Hase and Team Raid Wild, turning in to Armored Rider Baron, but Hase's Sengoku Driver (damaged in Episode 11) will not work! He loses, and Jonouchi (Armored Rider Gridon) leaves him, as does his team, leaving Hase alone and desperate. Jonouchi decides it's time to partner with someone new, and he picks ... MISTER DANGEROUS himself, Oren Pierre Alfonzo, aka Kamen Rider Bravo! His training consists of ... baking?! Takatora tests out the new Genesis Driver, turning in to Shin Zangetsu. TODAY on Kamen Rider Gaim... - Gaim & Baron vs. Bravo! - Banana Arms Gaim?! - Hase reaches for the forbidden fruit ... and then a dragon appears? - Stand off between Gaim, Baron, and Shin Zangetsu! VOTE AND DISCUSS! |
I was really enjoying this episode until the last few seconds of it...
Urobuchi is doing the Magical Girl/Witch thing from Madoka all over again. Thats really disappointing. |
Am I missing something? Doesn't this air tomorrow?
Aaaand there I go again.. forgetting time zones. Sheeeeesh! |
It aired in japan a few minutes ago

FUUUU....THE FEELS...HASE...
Besides that, Gaim and Baron vs Bravo was awesome! Was hoping this battle would've taken him out in the mean time to allow the Genesis Riders to be fully introduced >_< |
^you shut your whore mouth, I don't want my Orren Pierre Alfonso going anywhere.
Anyways, waiting on Aesir to get subs up. The raw just ain't for me. |

Well..that I can get behind then. But only if Mister Dangerous gets himself an all too fabulous new arms to use as a result.
Also, can't wait to see his reaction to Shin Zangetsu hahaha. |
Prep the tools. it's Urobutcher time. *grins
|
I had a feeling that Hase would bite off more than he can chew. As Den-O predicted it was in both meanings.
We're at a turning point here; as new dynamics are introduced, friendships are tested as the threat of the Energy Rider looms closer and Gaim uses Banana Arms for the first (and hopefully not last) time! |

One. Damn. Word.

Another really good episode. The stakes have never been higher and our heroes find themselves at there lowest point yet.
Still disappointed that Urobuchi reused the same twist he did in Madoka (well kinda) which doesnt mean that I disliked it. The twist was still really well done and I cant wait were they will go from there. The only thing that keeps me from rating the episode Excellent is that the adults are far too positiv about Oren pierre Alfonso proclaiming himself the hero of Zawame city. They blame the Beat Riders that they caused the infection yet they dont blame Oren who technically isnt a Beat Rider but participated in the Inves Game. |

And it was an otherwise excellent episode so I'm pleased. Looks like we get more Energy Rider action next week. At least some cameos even if they aren't revealed. |
Holy shit….
Gaim just keeps getting better and better, they just keep upping the ante every episode. This episode…the way it shook up the status quo…I could've sworn it was a final episode, or setting up for one at least. And damn…this episode really, REALLY makes you feel bad for Hase... |
I loved the episodes, but I have to wonder:
- How did Kaito, Kota, Hase, and Takatora, all happen to end up at the warehouse where the fight occurred? Did Kaito/Kota while off-screen hear some alarm/news bulletin on TV or twitter? - While neat seeing Banana Gaim, why did he bother? He's got his own lockseeds, Coconut, Strawberry, and Watermelon. Banana is a "base" armor, so if they needed to level up, wouldn't one of his own optional locks be a better choice? Orange arms already has two swords, Banana has a lance - i don't see any tactical advantage. I suppose it'll help sell the Arms Change toy line |

Good episode. I'm never a big fan of stories where everyone is tricked into thinking the heroes are villains, but I'm not minding it here that much. And really, they did play around with these monsters and at least two of the Ridrs have let their Invess get loose and go on rampages. It sucks for Kouta, Micchy, and Mai, but the Beat Riders are kind of to blame for some of this. Sure, they didn't know what they were doing, but they did still bring these monsters over en masse, and who knows what effect that had on the increasing number of cracks.

One of the best episodes this season so far. Oren Pierre Alfonso was simply magnifique! The story is taking yet another turn for the darker side with the infection as well as the city turning on the riders. We finally get our confirmation as to the nature of the forbidden fruit, which (not to steal your thunder Den-O) was pretty clear from the start to be the case. There were some great battles between the riders. I do hope that Bravo having difficulty taking on both Gaim and Baron doesn't mark the end of his partnership with Zangetsu though.
Next week looks fantastic as well, our debut of the other energy riders. |
Everyting was great about this episode. Though, I'm still not seeing the "twist' everyone is on about...
|
This series just got dark.

So, was Hase suffering from (biological) withdrawal or what?

And shit continues to get real. Great episode.

This shows ability to give characters genuine feeling reactions continues to be a highlight. Usually toku, sadly, fails at exactly what Gaim is doing so well. It never shies away from its inherent goofiness, it's never gratuitous in its darker moments and although not quite on the scale of a Hollywood blockuster, it does feel like this is taking place in a real world, where things have actual consequences.
Still, the one thing I'm sadly least convinced by is the action. I guess they're trying to create a "real" feeling in the fighting as well, but just because it works for the characters doesn't mean it works for the fighting. The "naturalistic" style of the fighting just makes it look unpolished and made up on the spot, with the special moves lacking a sense and feel of impact and the rubberyness of the Invess suits undermines any point it may have any way. The dragon fight was a bit better, but the CGI was atrocious. |
This episode. This show. I love how everything is moving forward with the plot but not so much it feels like whiplash. The public's opinion of the Riders, Bravo being hired as a hitman/public figure, so good. I have a feeling Hase's going to need to be put down next week.

Things really have gone banannas. :P
|
Really hating Yggradsil now for not even caring about the citizens. Also can't believe Kouta wouldn't just tell them the truth
And Hase... Oh, Hase... |
Kouta doesnt say anything about Yggdrasil because of Micchy. In the last episode he was going to tell Mai and the rest of team Gaim but Micchy prevented that by saying Yggdrasil would try to kill them if they would know too much.

Besides, the city seems to approve of Yggradsil at teh moment- its a major employer and intense revenue generator. Nobody would want to tamper with that. |

DAMN this was good. Especially vindicated to see what happened to Hase. |
The way things are turning out,I think I know how next week will go for at least two characters.
I think Kouta is going to spend the whole episode trying to save Hase, and I think he'll do it.I think Micchy will see what Yggdrasil wants to do and start to agree with it.Sid did say that he was thinking more,if not worse then his brother. I think in the end,Hase will be saved by Kouta, pushing Micchy more and more towards his brothers side.If not, then RIP Hase. |
