If you could bring back one actor not named JDF for a season, who would it be?
 

So you're the Executive Producer for Power Rangers. You're in charge of either the GoBusters or Kyoryuger adaption, your choice. The powers that be tell you that you can bring back ANY ACTOR/ACTRESS to the show for the season, to fill any role, except Jason David Frank ... because he's busy filming a Green Ranger thing or something.

So who do you pick, why, and what role do they fill?

I'd like to see them bring back Johnny Young Bosch.

Because aside from Jason David Frank, I think he's the 2nd most well known face people would naturally associate with Power Rangers.

I'd like to see him in another season because he hasn't really been part of PR since that Once a Ranger special huh?

I'd honestly like to see Austin St. John/Jason Geiger return. There'd just be something special about him reprising his role one last, final time.

David de Lautour. I'm biased as hell but I dont care. He can come back and be Tessai/Ramirez/Torin of the Kyoryuger adaptation.

How cool would it be if they adapted the Daigo/Daigo's dad story, and Daigo's character was the son of Austin St John/Jason Geiger, and then we had evil JASON!

But we already had that in the Turbo movie. :lol

That doesn't count. Because that movie was horrible. :lol

It counts until you destroy every film stock, VHS, online video, and DVD of it :lol

How about if you want Father/Son, we get Skull and Spike!

I want that in an adaption of the Kyoryuger/Gobusters team up.

Doubt you'd see Tzachor ask the big boss for the cash to pony that team-up. Would be pretty awesome, granted, if the GoBuster adaption doesn't tank as bad as GoBusters itself did.

It'll happen, but he won't be able to demorph because he can't breath the air :p

Anyone but Eric? No, I can do better. I think, if I could bring back anyone, it would have to be Casey. Jungle Fury Red. He's my favorite red of the Disney Years, sounds to be an amazing guy irl, and I would love seeing him again.

I say Daniel Southworth.

It would be great to have him back again.

I think he'd be a good mentor. It would be kind of fun to see the character evolve to the point where he's the seasoned guiding hand instead of the rebel.

But my real answer is Patricia Ja Lee. Because the occasional Target or Oscar Meyer commercial doesn't give me enough Patricia Ja Lee in my life.

I'd be down for that.

Well, let's see... Daniel Southworth, despite having my vote, has been named twice, so that's right out; I respect David Yost far too much to ask him to come back; Ah, I know.

My choice is either Blake Foster or Chris Violette. Returning castmembers tend to involve too much red and not enough blue for my tastes.

I would like to see a older Justin now cause I would like to see what he was up to during the time after space. He be good for the go busters adaption

My thoughts exactly. I assume that he remained active as a Ranger after Storm Blaster returned his Morpher, possibly joining/being recruited by the Silver Guardians (But that's part of a larger headcanon I've got going and so almost entirely irrelevant to this topic)- either way he'd be a good fit to return as either a mentor or an experienced team member. I have yet to actually watch either GoBusters or Kyoryuger, so I'm uncertain as to the actual dynamic within those teams.

On a personal level I'd like to see Johnny Yong Bosch back.

Storywise, given recent revelations though Dan Southworth would be the best choice.

I don't even care about story. I'm just not as in love with JYB as everyone else is :p

Really feel like all this calls for me to take out a month long Lovefilm subscription and rewatch Time Force.

And here I was hoping for something more in the vein of news regarding Mr. Southworth himself.

I want to say he got one of those E-mails asking if he was interested, and I think he said sure, but I don't think he ever got a response.

I just can't fathom how Tzachor and the production crew wrote, basically, an entire season of Power Rangers paying homages to 20 years of the franchise and thought they could get away without bringing anyone back (except Alex Heartman and Jason Smith).

They've treated pretty much this whole thing like they had no idea it was coming until the last second. The smart man would've sent invitations to everyone the instant you got the rights back before Samurai even started production.

The rumor on the street (see: internet) is that Tzachor and his production team had no plans to do any reunion episode, and it wasn't until the marketing department found out that they funneled extra cash in to the production to be able to get 10 actors back for the last episode.

That's uh, forcing the issues isn't it :lol

I'm torn between three choices: Austin St. John (Jason), Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly), and John Tui (Doggie Cruger/Daggeron), mostly because they're 3 of my 5 most favorite Rangers, JDF and Robo Knight being the other two.

John Tui can come back anytime he wants for as long as he wants.

id like to see chris violette come back for the go-busters adaptation, it would be nice to see sky again and that seems like the right series for it.

This whole line of discussion makes me sad.

Quick google search and I found out he was in battleship the movie. So I just found another reason to like that movie :lo
