Of the entire franchise, past to present? Ugh, this is going to be a tough one.


Series: It's always hard for me to pick between Hibiki and Black. Hibiki at its best is better, but Black doesn't fall apart 2/3rds of the way through because Toei sacked the production team. Honestly, I waffle back and forth every time I ask myself this question. Today, though, I think I'll go with Black

Main Rider: This is the hardest one to narrow down, hands down. Hayato, Shiro, Keisuke, Kotaro, Yusuke, Shotaro, Haruto... it's really hard to just pick one. I guess if I were to close my eyes and think about who I imagine when I think of the abstract idea of "Kamen Rider," the most pure example that comes to mind is Kazami Shiro, Kamen Rider V3.

Secondary Rider: Getting to skip all the Showa series makes this a little easier, but there are still a few that I really have to pick between. In the end, though, it always comes back to the same answer: Makoto Hikawa, Kamen Rider G3-X.

Belt Gimmick: Everyday objects that turn into weapons or transformation devices, Kamen Rider 555

Rider Design:OOO TaToBa, really one of the best base suits ever.

Final Rider Form: King Form Blade. Best Rider suit ever.

Villain Group: Gorgom. These are getting easier.

Villain Design: The Ten-Headed Demon from Amazon. It may not be the coolest looking or best executed design, but what it lacks in style it more than makes up for in creativity.

Opening Song: As always, CHO HENSHIN! KAMEN RIDER KUUGA!!

Series' Score: Black. Black by a large, large margin. Not because the other shows have bad scores, but because Black's is so, so good.

Belt Gimmick: When A to Z introduced the idea of genetic synchronisation to the Memory's, suggesting that there is a Memory out there that truly defines you, I really liked that. It's surprisingly rare for there to be such a deep connection between Rider and Gimmick. Actually as far as I'm aware it's the ONLY time.

Rider Design: Meteor.

Final Rider Form: Accel Trial, the perfect upgrade for that Rider.

Villain Group: I guess the Greeed? I haven't really met a villain set in Rider that is really all that impressive to me.

Villain Design: White Wizard.

Opening Song: Don't really came about themes.

Series' Score: I've grown to love pretty much every score while watching a show. Would listen to none of them in my free time, though.

Series: Blade. That show, in my opinion, is near perfection, perfect balance of story, mystery, great characters, seriousness and a great ending.
Main Rider: Shinji Kido, AKA Ryuki. He's a lovable idiot but I felt his emotions about protecting people were the strongest and most realistic out of any main Rider I've seen.
Secondary Rider: Hajime Akiawa AKA Chalice. Seeing the guy the first couple of episodes being a major dick to him caring about the other Riders and Humanity was pretty great.
Belt Design/Gimmick: Sengoku Driver and lockseeds. Especially with the Genesis Core attached to the side. I am sad that Kouta might be ditching it for the keyhole add-on for Fruit Salad form or whatever
Rider Design: Any of the main Faiz Riders If you told anybody that you were going to design superheroes with greek letters integrated into their design, you would have gotten laughed out of the room but Faiz integrated it really well by blending it with the other motifs.
Final Rider Form: Blade King form or Chalice Wild Form King Form is my lock screen image on my phone. That's how good it is.The way the gold in the heavy armor mixes with the various symbols of the Undead and Blade's overall Ace and Beetle motif make it a really visually mixed yet balanced form. Or Chalice, with a mix of Red, Black and Green with an even more ramped up Mantis look that still gives the slick design of the original.
Villain Group: Greeed The fact that these guys were not invincible and could become a super powerful threat always made the show interesting to watch. As they obtained or lost medals, it set you on edge to see if it is actually is gonna happen. Kinda lost some of its luster when its revealed that they get 1-uped by the Purple cores.
Villain Design: Orphnoch King if you asked me what a monster looked like, I'd point at that. It has a super clean look but enough intricate detail to intrigue along with monstrous features that put you on edge.
Opening Song: Justfaiz The song hits all of the pompous and energetic beats while still feeling appriate for the series. Even the remix for the end of Paradise Lost is pretty good.
Series' Score: OOO. It had the most variety and and very appropriate for the form/tone that the show was in. I haven't seen Kiva yet but that's my runner up just based on the songs alone without context.

Series: Kamen Rider Gaim

Main Rider: Kouta/Kamen Rider Gaim

Secondary Rider: Akira/Goto/Kamen Rider Birth

Belt Gimmick: OOO Driver

Rider Design: Kamen Rider Ryugen

Final Rider Form: Kamen Rider Kiva Emperor Form

Villain Group: Zodiarts

Villain Design: Virgo Zodiarts/Mezool (Tie)

Opening Song: Kamen Rider OOO

Series' Score: Kamen Rider OOO

Series: Kamen Rider Blade. Just brilliant with a great set of characters. No one makes me groan and face palm (Even Mutsuki, whose arc got tiring, was still a great character), and I even loved the secondary characters.

Main Rider: Double. I absolutely adore Double. The 2-in-1 dynamic never felt like a pointless gimmick and they played that strength excellently.

Secondary Rider: This one was a bit more difficult, primarily between Chalice, Birth, and Raia. Ultimately, I had to pick Chalice for this one. He was cold and distant like damn near every secondary Rider, but the plot twist involving him and justifying why he acted like he did was worth it, to me.

Belt Gimmick: I'mma have to say OOO. It felt like a step up from Double's, but without being too overbearing like Fourze's. Really enjoyable.

Rider Design: Faiz. I'm not a big fan of the series proper, but I will admit that he looks pretty badass.

Final Rider Form: Blade King Form. It's orgasmically good.

Villain Group: This one took a little thinking, but I think I'll give it to the Phantoms. I liked their plan and I liked that they were ultimately pawns.

Villain Design: The Cancer Zodiart. Wasn't a super big player, but I just adored that design. Made a crab look like a threat and not a joke.

Opening Song: Anything Goes, from OOO. That song ear wormed so hard that it was like a Japanese Duck Tales for me :lol

Series' Score: Blade, once again. Kakusei is just sexy~

Well I haven't seen a whole lot of rider yet but here is my list:

Series: W, out of the ones I've seen W just did it for me, making me excited for the next episode, and I've still yet to finish the movies, but it left me in what a good rider series should follow.

Main Rider: Well I'm gonna cheat here and say W. Shotaro I like because of how he wants to protect Fuuto, and will do what ever to save it. Phillip I liked because well at times he could be funny, as well as how he had the mystery of his family around him.

Secondary Rider: Accel I liked because well, he was determined to find Weather and avenge his family, which I liked.

Belt gimmick: Well I gotta say it, Lock Seeds, because they are just fun and I like of how they function with the belt, as well as how they grow off the trees, and how you can have multiples of them. They're just fun.

Rider Design: Odin, just because he looks awesome.

Final Form Rider: Knight Survive, I just like the whole cape thing and the gold accents, and he just ends up looking cool.

Villian Group: Well none of the main groups of villians have done it to me, but I guess I'd have to say the Sonozaki Family. Well now thinking about it I'd have to say Yggdrasil is really good, and the mystery it has around it is great.

Villian Designs: I'm gonna have to say Nazca's design, both.

Opening Song: Hibiki I like the most.

Series Score: N/A

Main Rider: Hidari Shotaro and Philip as W. Kouta is getting close, though.

Secondary Rider: Accel

Belt Gimmick: Gaia Memories/Lockseeds. They're very similar in implementation.

Rider Design: Skull. Honourable props to Kiva and just about all of Gaim.

Final Rider Form: TaJaDor. Get that "Super TaToBa" shit out of here. Final forms deserve effort put into them.

Villain Group: Yggdrasil

Villain Design: Utopia/Bravo

Opening Song: Just Live More. Honourable props to Break The Chain.

Rider Design: Hibiki, I also generally like the Ryuki suits as a whole, seeing a pic of Wizard Flame Styles advertising Kamen Rider Wizard back when the show first started airing is what pulled me in to the fandom so I am really partial to it as well

Final Rider Form: Ryuki Survive because it just looks really nice and I love the figuart, Blade King is just a really solid looking suit, Accel Trial for reasons similar to Locke, it just is a perfect upgrade

Villain Group: Zodiarts, Sonozaki Family

Villain Design: Bravo, Dark Kiva (I..think he's a villain?)

Opening Song: Alive a Life
