Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave 45 "That Can't Be Dad! The End of Silver"
Deboss revived! Luckyuro has been fired! Deboss' countdown to destruction is at hand! The Kyoryugers' final battle draws near! But who's that working alongside Deboss?? Kyoryuger episode 45! Discuss! Vamola! |
Loved it, the flag was a little obvious but even 'OK' episodes of Kyoryuger have a great energy and vibrancy that keeps them fun and entertaining. I think the distraction gag at the end was as hilarious as it was lame and Blue leaping into the fray like he did with his shield was a fantastic moment. Fun stuff. ^^

I think I cried a little bit at the end, the final hours of Kyourger are nothing to shake a Dion tail at
|
This series is gonna get to me at the end I know it.
Am I the only one gettin a Master Asia vibe from Dantestsu? |
Great episode!
And thank god, those cloaked dudes got monster suits. I hate seeing clearly-human people in the daikaiju fights -- it makes suspending disbelief impossible. The scale of the suits becomes clear, and it just looks like a bunch of dudes running around on a miniature set. Why did the production team wait to debut these monster forms? It has to be related to budget issues, right? Since episode 37 we've been presented a string of recycled monster suits, reused Gabrincho of Music suits, slightly modified mooks as main monsters, and "ultra-powerful" Deboss generals that are just guys dressed in shitty Halloween capes... what other reason could there be? Well, at least we got 3 new (and awesome, per usual for this series) full monster suits this episode. Hopefully means they were saving all their money for an all-out crazy final 3 episodes. |
So was Super Hero time really short for "Super (serious stuff goes down on both) Hero (shows) Time" this week?
Was a good episode, I just kinda wish it didn't make it so painfully obvious that Torin is going to eventually come back as a spirit ranger. I'm hoping that Dantetsu is just doing an elaborate ruse either and will genuinely go down as a bad guy, but I don't feel the show is that daring. |
Right now I'm honestly hoping Dantetsu has legitimately turned. That it's not some big ploy or anything, but he was honestly convinced that Deboss was the right path to walk or something.
I know it won't, considering how the show has been handled before, but it would be nice for a hero to turn and stay turned. |

I just caught up with last week and this weeks episodes and taken together that was solid stuff. Deboss' new design reminds me very much of Mons Drake from Goseiger, it's an interesting costume to say the least. I knew Luckiero and Candelira would wind up being good guys too. |

Also, has anyone mentioned any hypotheses about Daigo being the true king of the Earth? Because I'm putting that out there. |
This episode was intense! I shouted out "damn" at least once and almost cried. So good.

I frankly love the idea that he's the true King of the Earth. Hope it pans out. |
I just want Dantetsu to stay bad. That would be one hell of a plot twist.
Anyway, I find it cute that Deboss's current evolution, the form to exterminate humanity, is based on a butterfly :lol |
Yeah, I didn't really get the butterfly thing. First thing it made me think of was the butterfly effect, but then I realised this show doesn't have any time travel in it :lol
|
Did Akihisa Shiono suddenly get popular in Japan or something? I mean the treatment of Souji between the early part of this show to now is like night and day. Back then you hardly notice him, now next to Daigo he gets the most attention. I guess I understand that their following on his story of mastering Torin's technique now he even gets his sword. Now I kind of expect him to do something with it or I'm gonna wonder why bother showing that scene in the first place.
|
Uh oh, Candeliera has been marked for dead by Deboss. I wonder what Sentai will think? :lol
The last few episodes have been IMO lackluster, but this is a surprisingly good ep. The heroes are really down on their luck this time, and Dantetsu siding with Deboss was interesting turn of event. I am sure he and Torin will be helping Kyoryugers in the finale though. |
I voted average.
I loved the episode, one of the best so far. King turning on everyone in creation, Torin for real dying, the final hours are approaching. But I saw the previews. And I swear if Candelira dies I am finished with this show. Finished. |
They won't kill Candi.
That would make things interesting, and this show resents doing that. |
I love this show, and will be Aigoron to see it go. =/

It's a little late to be bringing in replacement generals...
With that said, the episode was really good, but disappointing at the same time. We all know Torin is not dead as this is just a plan to completely free him of all Deboss roots (and was probably orchestrated by himself and Daigo's father). Secondly, the new generals not only look lazily made, but they are dumb. I mean really, they fell for Aigaron's look over there trick? Well, at least Deboss' form is an improvement over the one he had originally. However, I'm just waiting for two little fairy girls to show up and sing to him. I am not looking forward to Tokkyuger, but I'll be quite pleased when this show is over. |
I'd say it was a kinda good episode, but still far from of the awesomeness we had in some earlier episodes of the show, like the movie character-episode or Yayoi's first transformation. Though it seems things are speeding up again.
Also, I loved everyone's reaction to Torin's death with everyone speaking their minds- except for Daigo, who had a pretty weak comment on this. I mean, if my dad killed my mentor, I'd completely freak out. Actually, Ian's reaction was much more of how Daigo should've been like in that scene.... |
Yeah, but it's Daigo, the man who has no faults as he does everything with perfection. He can't even lose a battle right.
|
Daigo was in complete shock. Hoe else was he going to react?

All this Daigo-Hate really makes no sense to me. He shows emotion, he has flaws, he just gets over it and gets back to buisness. That's who he is. When Torin died he was in complete shock. That kind of shock kind of stops you from dropping to your knees and weeping uncontrolably. Besides, that's not who he is. He is what he is. He stood up, brushed himself off, and knows he has a job to do. Beat sense into his Father and stop Deboss.
|
Who said I'd hate him? I like Daigo, I've never complained about him before. I just thought that in Daigo's position, a reaction like Ian's would seem more natural to me. Ian didn't drop to his knees weeping either, but he did was Daigo usually did when he was upset so far....

A hero who "Just gets over it and gets back to business" is a hero with no connection. You don't get a sense that Daigo is ever emotionally hurt because Daigo "Just gets over it" so quickly that it's never an issue. And no, that doesn't make him deeper. His smile doesn't mask anything. He's always eternally fine with things. Ian losing his cool facade, breaking down and weeping over the loss of a leader, a mentor, a friend, and an ally is emotional growth. Daigo standing with resolve is not because that's what he's always done. Daigo has never changed. He's not grown as a leader, he's not grown as a team mate, and, worst of all, he's not grown as a character. Daigo "Is what he is," and that's an unsympathetic, infallible titan who spouts "Bureivu" constantly and acts like that's what makes a character. The Daigo hate is because he's an immovable statue in terms of character. He's literally perfect as stated by the series, and when explicitly stated that his only character flaw is that he's held back because he's too perfect for his team, then there's a problem. Amy has her conflicting lifestyles. Nossan has his sister and niece to care for and worry over. Ian has his goal of revenge against Aigaron. Souji has a laundry list of character, including his family issues as well as his inferiority complex against a better swordsman. Utchy has his resentment over losing his former King in battle. But Daigo? Father issues? Nope. Daigo is fine with his father abandoning him. Any personal issues with Deboss? Nope. He's just fighting because it's bureivu. Feelings of weakness? Nope. Daigo knows he's better than everyone. Feelings of powerlessness? Nope. Daigo gets everything. And there's where my Daigo hate comes from. We're forced to follow a character who has no real story or investment in the series in over an entire team with interesting and creative histories. |
Bravo Matrix, that was perfect.
|
I respect your opinion. That was a well though out and explained explaination. I just think you're wrong and this season is perfect, and nothing is going to convince me otherwise.
Unless they kill Candelira. Then F this show. |
Have you ever been in a situation, where things are so wrong that you have to shut up and grit your teeth?
Have you ever been the leader of a team, a team of people who rely on your positive outlook? Daigo isnt perfect. He is a leader. If he falls? The rest of the team falls. |

And I don't believe that. Daigo is not the glue holding the team together. The team can survive without their precious king, and trying to imply that these 5 would be nothing should anything happen to their god does a major disservice to their characters and their strengths. Your statement implies that they're not truly a team, because a team is not built upon one man, otherwise they're just meatshields for Daigo, and losing, say, Amy or Utchy would have significant less impact than losing Daigo, which is far from true. If Daigo's downfall leads to the rest of the team's downfall, then they were never a real team to begin with. Just Daigo and friends. |

If you don't like the dynamic that's clearly been presented for the last year, then don't watch it. No one's forcing you to.
Let people who enjoy it, enjoy it. I certainly like it. |

I for one am glad Matrix said the things he did, so I don't have to. :D
Though I will say, I was happy with Daigo's reaction, though my expectations weren't exactly set highly. |
