Where can you watch the raw?
|
Well there was a livestream at 5:30 EST. But the fansub groups aren't hosting the raw yet, probably won't be til tomorrow.
|
Thanks!
|
So much excitement! So much backstory! Things are getting better and better from now on!
|
Please be mindful of spoilers till the subs are widely available. Big spoilers in the Ep 16 previews
|
Huzah just caught the raw! Another excellent episode. Without spoiling anything I just want to say that Marika is a total badass in and out of suit.

I remember reading on a Japanese site that she is Ryoma's bodyguard, so it's justified.

Man, Yggdrasil really knows how to make prisoners feel welcome. Just look at this jail cell!
http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...4h31m44s66.png Kouta gets his own bathroom, a couch, and a f'ing mini fridge! Am I the only one that wants to get on Yggdrasil's bad side? |

Only saw the Raw in shit quality, but God damn that was certainly a jam-packed episode.
Sadly a lot of the better moments relied on dialogue which I only partially understood the context and few words, not the details. Such as Kaito and Kouta asking Ryouma what's with the "Hammanichi on stage" and other phrases from the drivers. Sigurd's transformation was AWESOME. All the stuff with the three of them busting out was awesome. Lot of great stuff. This show continues to deliver with no fluff or bullshit. The only scene I wasn't hooked into was the bit with the beat riders, since I couldn't understand the dialogue and honestly those characters seem entirely pointless now. Rat is hospitalised, and the other members besides that girl and Mai have mysteriously vanished. I totally forgot Team Invitto HAD other members. So yeah, EAGERLY awaiting subs in HD. And next week looks great. The worst part about this show is it's all a wait, then 22 minutes of satisfaction, then more wait since it only just gets better. >_< |
Wow! I didn't expect how Zangetsu found out about his bro.
|
Subs are up.

Woo!

Boom! And the subtitles give even more context to an excellent episode!
|
Wow.
Wow. More later. |
I just love how DJ Sagara appeared and loved how he was "in-character" even off the air in person.
During the conversation the "DJ" part gradually faded and he started being more serious. Good acting ZOMG BANANA ARMS in-door henshin?! With a muted "Knight of Spear" in the background. ZOMG! Orange arms - WTF MID-AIR HENSHIN?! |
I love how this show keeps moving forward. Interesting to see Ryoma's perspective on what Yggdrasil is doing. He (and the others) seem to genuinely think what they're doing will be for the best, even if they have to do some morally ambiguous stuff to get there. DJ Sagara is still a bit of a mystery though, seems like everything he does is just for his own kicks. Really looking forward to next week's episode with that preview.

Good episode, good advancement and hey, Dandeliner!
But I have to wonder- what is Yggdrasil's endgame here? Why do they want the Drivers & why wander into Helheim? |
God dammit, Aesir. Now you're translating the dude's actual name?
Who thought I'd be wanting annoying little TV-Nihon style popups? |
Well I'm glad Sid became a Rider…he's giving me major Shotaro vibes in just how fabulous he handles himself.
|
That was even better than I thought it'd be. Also, major spoiler theory:
The DJ is not human. He appeared only in hologram that one time, and refers to humans like he's not bound by the rules he describes them by. I think he's some kind of super-sophisticated AI that runs multiple functions, but adopts the DJ persona out of preference for the show. Probably wrong, though. Quote:
He was suave. |

Eh, why repeat praise again? Amazement seems to be my default reaction to every episode. :D I love all the various motivations of the characters. Takatora seems to have a noble side to him, trying to protect the kids even when it would be easier to kill them, and even when he hates them so much. I am convinced Takatora believes that everything he does is for the good of the city.
Sid on the other hand, is a monstrous jerk who fights with a kind of bloodlust. He's evil and manipulative. Ryouma seems obsessed with his research and he's not so much evil as he is amoral. DJ Sagara is a wild card. There's something strange about him, I expect we'll see a lot more in the future. We don't know much about Marika yet, though. |
You know, this is probably the first episode of Kamen Rider I've ever seen (and I've seen like half of them by now) where the scenes with people talking were more exciting to me than the action. That's not a knock against the fights, it just amazes me how interesting Gaim's plot is, especially this early.
Also expected Micchy's secret identity bit to last longer, if only so as to prevent any sort of "I'm totally a bad guy now!" antics, but that's starting to seem kind of inevitable. Of course, as far as evil Riders go, Melon Bro isn't actually that bad a guy, so who knows. Super excited to see Kouta bust out that shiny new Lemon Lockseed next week, too bad next week means 7 whole days from now. I swear, this show is like a drug addiction, sometimes. |

Ohhhh my I loved this episode. The plot is interesting, and they really want to sell the Dandelliners don't they? I would of liked to see Bravo and Gridon but the episode was great regardless. Would of liked to have seen more of Mirika but still it was okay. Can't wait to see where DJ's story goes from here, as well as the reactions of Raid Wild when they hear that Hases dead. I liked the part of where Micchy's like nope you're not gonna se this footage of Yuyya, or at least not yet. Also Ithought that Takatora knew that Micchy was Ryugen since wouldn't he know who was what rider? As well as in the episode where all the riders were in Helhiem didn't Takatora say well have along talk later, as well as in earlier episodes have that book of all the armored riders.

Yup, he flippantly blew off Sid's offer to go over the subjects.
|
... Now I want to see an American adaptation of Kamen Rider Gaim. Not something like Power Rangers, with the cut-and-paste Japanese footage spliced together with American footage, but something a bit more like Game of Thrones, with completely new footage but with a story based on the source material.
|
So I had a random thought. I know it's totally wrong, but think how much of a twist it would be.
Helheim is actually the future, a distant future. Ryouma and the DJ are actually from the future ... and are the future versions of Micchy and Kouta. Ryouma is obsessed with developing a technology to harness the power of Helheim to stop it from coming to pass and to save Mai, while the DJ is Kouta who was overtaken by the forest, hence the "whoever Helheim chooses..." because the forest is all weird and mysterious. Stupid I know. but I just saw Ryouma and was like "hey, that looks like a future Micchy with long hair..." |
I don't think I could see that one I'm afraid :p
|
Just finished the episode and as expected I'm loving this series more and more, really making me glad I decided to give it a watch. And I believe it was Split Lip who said it in another topic how this show is really raising the bar when it comes to it's story telling, not a single episode has been pure filler, everything advances the story in one way or another, and I wish more shows did that.
As for the episode itself I'm glad we got to see more of the DJ character, the new lock vehicle (in time for it's toy release) and of course Gaim getting his new energy lock seed. And though I'm sure they mass produced those energy seeds I can't help but picture DJ Sagara sneaking into Duke's living quarters and taking the lock seed behind his back. Next Battle Duke goes to transform and, crap...where's my lock seed? |
Kamen Rider Gaim is going to ruin Kamen Rider for the rest of the franchise with how spoiled we're being :lol
