Where does it say that? I don't see anything on their site saying it will be on tomorrow.

Did they have to put the commercial break in the MIDDLE of the opening theme?
EDIT: THey did not even finish the theme, it just went right to the beginning of the episode. |
That was super mega epic.
[couldn't resist] I can't wait to hear Gosei's explanation of why Jake is now Green. |
That was a great episode. Can't wait for the next episode in 2 weeks.

I didn't see a single ad to be honest.

Why does Ninjago not leave? I can't watch anything except a "Previosly On" segment and the Mech Dragon advert.
Is this just because I'm on the Mobile site? |
Time for me to jump in and be the critical guy. Simply put? This was not a good episode.
-ADR voice overs were horrible for pretty much anyone. Villains had no connection at all with their suits. Rangers had terribly bland, out of context, and emotionally detached dialogue in basically any morphed shots - The explaining of why they switch to legendary forms in and out so much was weak. Too much strain? How about we can just change whenever we want like they did in the source footage? - The lack team call outs or even theme music by the morphers is a travesity of missed marketing opportunity for the Legendary Morphs - The sound effects are just so damn generic that you lose any appreciation for the ranger devices - And the breakneck speed of this episode, being that it's spliced together from two episodes of Gokaiger plus some new footage, is just bad. You get almost no connection with anything that's happening because of the crazy turns the episode keeps taking. The defeat of the two commanders goes by so quickly you could blink and miss it. I haven't been a Power Rangers fan for a long time and that was when they were simply imports of single shows. This doubling up of 2 series together makes them almost unwatchable. My opinion may normally be biased away from Power Rangers, but this show has some glaring issues. I begrudge no one who enjoyed this show but I had to express my opinion just as anyone who liked it can express theirs. I will say the "why green instead of black" moment was pretty funny. A great way to explain things is to never talk about them after all. Anyways, I welcome the hate I am about to receive for my opinion of this episode :lol |

Also the two monster splice made it feel more like an invasion for me. They had multiple generals attack, not just one. They do need ADR work, but I don't think Emma or Troy will ever get it. |
Watched the first episode and my thoughts:
Did we really need there to be an artificial limit on the "Ultra Powers?" What is up with all of the pointless exposition? I did not need to hear "I think I figured out how to form the Legendary Megazord." The entire episode was paced completely wrong. The beginning just felt inconsistent. There was no explanation or anything as to why Ernie and the school are damaged. When were they attacked? How much time passed between episodes? Why did Vrak run away? Not to mention they crammed two episodes worth of footage into one just for the sake of doing so. There was no plot or even breathing room, it was just one long big action sequence. The voice acting for the villains is terrible. If there is one thing that was always great in PR, it was the villain voices. Here, the actors sound bored more than anything else. Is that old dude the ONLY teacher in the entire school? The footage for GokaiGreen does NOT fit the personality of Jake. The changing into past teams is boring without the great voice over to state which team they are turning into. Overall, the episode was pretty lackluster, even for a first episode. I know next to nothing about anything that is going on as there was no time given to let any semblance of a plot come through. Did Michael Bay direct this episode? Oh, and I cannot comment on the opening theme because Nick decided to put the commercial break in the middle of it and then skip the remainder of it when it came back, so I have no idea what the song actually is. |
I did not hate this. It's a solid season opener. 75% of the episode was Gokaiger footage and you can't go wrong with that. On the bad side, the end scene in the school was so tacked on and forced.
That all said, I think my expectations were very low going in and it doesn't really impress as much as it just seems like a sight improvement. |

As for the episode, I liked it. I think Troy's ADR is improving, but it's still not great in the least. Also, the female villain, her ADR is fantastic. I like her voice, sounds menacing. Each "Gokai Change" gave me warm fuzzies. Always a plus. |
Okay...I'm going to say something I never thought I would say about a neo-Saban Power Rangers season...
They did a good job with the opening episode. Granted, it's still not a spectacular show, it just picks up from the good vibes and improvements of Megaforce's ending episodes. The Rangers DO talk too much during the suited action scenes, and sometimes it seems like they just talk for the sake of talking, but oh well. At least they gave us an intro that was kinda cool, albeit predictable with it's Gokaiger footage placement. And the OO Red looks ridiculously bad in one shot. You'll know when you see it. It's like, special edition Star Wars trilogy levels of bad. Almost as bad as Troy's end battle catch phrase... |
This was a pretty good episode. This felt more like an invasion as well as Jake being green thing not being explained. Now I would of liked to of seen more of OO but oh well. Overall this episode made me excited for the rest of the season.

Two parts really stuck out.
http://s30.postimg.org/qvfljdbyp/dejavusupermega.jpg http://s30.postimg.org/8rckyqea9/wtfgosei.jpg Plus the Megaforce Pink fighting in the dark and devastated froyo part was the best part of the episode for me. |
I liked it. More later. No computer so everything is mobile.

Uchihabro and KamenriderOOO watching their Waifu's become Emma and Mia.. :lol Sorry?
Maybe I'm just a Power Ranger fanboy but I loved this. Especially when they changed and called out the teams, not like how I was hoping but it was more than I thought would happen. I laughed though when Jake asked Why he's green, Gosei went to explain, and they were interupted. I hope it's a running gag and next week one asks why they're pirates. I'm not in love with the names for the Zords, but they barely used the Zords outside of Megazord mode in Gokaiger so It's a problem I won't have to deal with me, I don't think. Zeo and I called it. The troopers are X-Borgs. Go us :lol And I loved him at the end standing in the classroom and giving a speech to the kids. Classic MMPR right there. Let's hope the rest of the season is this good! |
ok so thank to my Unblock_US.com accoutn and subscription. was able to watch this on nick.com. and i really enjoyed it. i like the fact some of the thing was adressed and i could see notable new footage as well. but i like how jake was wondering about his could change. and the fact is some case the do say the morph call of the said rangers the change in to but i can see that being a on off thing due to the fact they dont all ways say it. i give it an 4/5 a good use to the footage i think. but yea if you seen gokaiger like i have you can tell they ont match the personalities

Aside from the badness that was the red morph, I am SO GLAD that they not only call out the team everytime, but also sometimes use that team's call. I kinda have hopes, but i don't know.
The aesthetics of Rangers don't fit the suits. They should have been a separate team. And Troy does not fit in at all with Marvelous' actions. |
Cross-posting from another thread...
My thoughts: -Saban could have given us an explanation as to why Jake is green instead of black, but they pull the old "let me explain-NOPE, CAN'T EXPLAIN NOW GO!" -NO explanation on the pirate motif. The Rangers just go with it without asking. -"This kind of invasion has never happened before." So I guess Gosei forgot about the In Space finale "Countdown to Destruction"? Way to crap on your own series continuity. -Troy's actor still can't act. -At least we get the morphing calls for Samurai and Mystic Force. Not for SPD or Ninja Storm, though. So I guess we don't get to hear Gosei saying which team name they morph into. Lame. -I can tell they superimposed the Overdrive Red suit over Gosei Red from the Gokaiger footage where they turn away from the monster exploding. -Since we didn't get to see the Mystic Dragon power-up for the Legendary Megazord, I get the feeling that will be in the first few minutes of the next episode, and will promptly be forgotten, like Gosei Jet Megazord and Gosei Ultimate Megazord. -The Rangers need to SHUT UP when they fight. Having them talk while they're battling is getting annoying. I really don't know what to say. I want to like this season, but I feel as though Gokaiger should have been skipped entirely, and have the rest of Goseiger be adapted instead. Ironic, since having Gokaiger in America is a dream come true for me. Sadly that "dream come true" is a nightmare when Jonathan Tzachor is at the helm. |
i liked this episode and thought it was a good way to start the season off. while there were some parts that seemed forced i can get past those and still enjoy what we got. i still wish that noah and jake would have swapped colors though, just to fit in with the actions a bit more.
i was super surprised when they used some of the other teams morph calls, for samurai and mystic force at least. when the pulled out the spd keys and just said, "spd ready" i just thought "well, thats close enough." honestly i was also surprised that they used the cannon. i figured that since it didn't come with the megazord that they would cut it out somehow. i guess it gives kids a reason to get the zord armor though, i know that's why i want it. so yeah, this episode had some misses, but i feel that it was strong over all. not perfect, but i'm happy with what we got. can't wait for the next episode. |
Eric, do they really need to give an explanation for the pirate theme?

Eh, it was alright.
The episode was mostly fight scenes, but that's excusable this time since the whole invasion thing is going on. It's...weird having watched the Sentai it's based on first for once. The scene where the rangers were helping people in the mall and the school out was nice, though I dunno why they relied on just the students to help build the school back. Gosei's line to Jake about switching from black to green was pretty funny. I kind of hope the rest of the episodes are tounge-in-cheek like that. And uh, let's see...it's nice that they used some of the old series morphing calls. Oh man I also really like how there's gonna be NO WAY they're gonna explain their change in fighting styles. Like I wonder if they'll cut out most of Jake's since he's got the most obvious shift? Not to mention Noah being super badass swordsman now and Troy just walking around, casually shooting monsters in the face now. Other the bad side...it looks like it's gonna be the same old Megaforce right now. No real ongoing story and overuse of stock footage scenes due to trying to cram a 50 episode series into twenty eps...but I'd like to be proven wrong! That scene with the paranoid teacher coming back was weird, but whatever. Troy ditching school to wonder where the hell Roboknight is a nice touch, though. |
So what happened to Robo Knight?

I don't understand why there needs to be an explanation on the pirate theme. It's not like in Zeo, Tommy said "Oh wow, we're shapes now and... my helmet looks like something a clown would play with or a seal would balance on the end of his nose!"
|
I just realized that they didn't use the Gokai-Oh running across the moon and slashing through the Armada scene that they've been teasing for months now.

That was... okay, I guess.
It's hard to make Gokaiger footage not look awesome, even when the Rangers won't shut the hell up for one goddamn second. The introduction of the powers may have been the most stupidly rushed thing I've ever seen, but the fights are still great. I can't say the same for the writing, though. The dialogue is incredibly painful 90% of the time and the show seems terrified of the idea that the Rangers might not be quipping at any given point during a battle. The ending seems really odd, too - the planet is still facing a full-scale invasion from space, but you're going back to school? Less than 24 hours after a massive attack that destroyed multiple buildings and sent the population fleeing in panic? Da fuq? But yeah, it's still Neo-Saban Power Rangers. There's some good, some bad, and a lot of wooden acting. I probably won't be watching any more of it until the big guest star episode. |
First things first, I hate cliff-hangers, ESPECIALLY when you have to wait more than 2 weeks for it to be resolved. That's how I felt after watching End Game, having to wait 3 MONTHS for this cliff-hanger to be resolved. So it made this all the sweeter!
Anyway, just caught Super Megaforce on YouTube, and I FREAKIN' LOVED IT!!! It was well worth the 3 month wait! I loved the morphing into Super Megaforce Mode, the morphing into the Legendary Rangers, during the fight scenes when the Rangers kept swapping weapons, and of course, the LEGENDARY MEGAZORD! I am loving Super Megaforce and if it things go as great the rest of the season (Orion/Super Megaforce Silver, more Legendary Ranger morphing, the Legend War), I'll go on record saying Super Megaforce is my favorite season since MMPR Season 3! |
Alright, type as I watch-
Catch up from last time, wow, that was all you need to watch that episode :lol Im likin Princes VA so far. Theme is good, not the song, the clips in it. So I need to ask, if the invasion is happenin, where the hell are the other rangers that still have active powers?! Noah goes to the school :lol I screwed up and missed a ton when I watched this on my phone last night :( How do they know they are called X-Borgs already? Never seen an invasion like this? In Space Gosei. Almost had the thing about the Grack Key explained... aaannd Nope. :p It shows a guy gettin blown away by an explosion, and obvious Gokai footage... I feel like I am watchin a fandub with all this talking over the fights... I kind of like FINAL STRIKE! "Super Mega Win" Not so much... Why did Troy yell "Thunder Staff" He is Red, not Crimson/Navy The time they spent talking about being Reds, they couldve said the morph calls... Oh they mentioned Zombats. Least we have some Canon. "Super Mega Starburst"? Was it... JUICY!? Okay, if my school was attacked and the teachers went missin, Id keep it that way :p Why is Troy so hung up on Robo-Knight? I swear if it ends up being nothin... My thoughts on the premiere. Hope they keep doin this for episodes :lol |
Can anyone PM me an alternative link? The video won't work for my region. :(
