There's my 2 cents. |
I caught the raw and I have to say that this was an excellent excellent final episode. I won't spoil what happens but I absolutely love the set up they leave us with for 100 Years After.

As the first series I've watched as it airs, I found that I skipped the problem I normally have of taking ages to get past the first 10 or so episodes. Every week I was looking forward to the next episode and i'm sad to see it end and can't wait for them all return in the team up next year. |
I actually thought about downloading this to see how the show ends. Then I read that the show ends with Daigo solo-ing the main villain while the rest of the team just battles mooks and cheers him on. So I decided not to.

I hope one day I can go to Japan and meet the Kyoryugers in person :D

I absolutely love the ending of this series. So many wonderful things. I just love this series and I wish it didn't end but that was a fantastic end to a fantastic series.
|
While I thought that the episode was good I do wish that things were done a little differently. The whole King-vs-Deboss irritated me a bit as no one else really did anything. I guess this was King's show the whole time anyway.
One other thing is I would have loved to see a 5-years-later type of thing to see how their lives moved on after the end of the series. Oh well. |
im sad to see it go, im thinking Kyoryuger while not the best Sentai ever, will go down as one of my personal favorites. the season was just alot of fun for me the whole way through.
unfortunately if the rhythm continues with every other Sentai being crappy then its gonna be another year away from Sentai with ToQger for me Sayōnara Kyoryuger! |

I found it to be rather mediocre. The climactic battle didn't feel any different from any other Carnival fight, the other rangers just kind of stood around singing for Daigo, and Utchy's death was handled sloppily.
The only part I felt was actually cool was Candi returning to help Torin and the Spirit Rangers. The rest was just kind of...Bleh. As a finale, it was rather disappointing, and as a finale to Kyoryuger, it was incredibly disappointing. |
I just finished watching it and... I'm as big an emotional wreck as I thought I'd be. It was perfect. Start to finish just perfect. Candelira helping Nossan, her being the deciding factor in destroying Chaos. And it makes sense. Joy defeats Chaos. Daigo and Amy. The whole episode had me in tears, good and sad.
I wonder what they meant though by something worse. A DeBoss final The Boss or the enemies from Trainonger. |
You know after seeing the episode, what Endolf said about Canderrilla being the strongest of them all makes sense.

Wow the feels. The character I will miss the most is Ramirez. It was pretty good and of how there being more Deboss's out there sets up for the new movie.

A really really cool final Episode that gave me goosebumps all the way through. Daigos last fight against Deboss was really well done and even though Daigo is not a perfect character and the show revolved often far too much around him I cant dislike him and how boss he was in his final fight.
The only thing I really didnt like about this Episode was the Daigo X Amy stuff...the whole thing was SOOOOOOOOOO annoying. Why did they had to ruin Amy for me? I really liked her this past year but I just couldnt stand it seeing her acting like a dumb girly girl especially during the last seconds of the episode. The past Year was really something special for me and I am glad I had Kyoryuger by my side all this time. The last Episode wasnt perfect but it was a fitting end for the show. |

What I wanna know is…
Why the hell did it take the Voltasaurs this long to get back? What were they all doing during those few days? |

Amy has proven time and time again that she is as strong as the others. Just because her fight or flight reflex triggered at a bad time doesn't mean everything she has done is undone. Sure she's lazy but keep in mind she did get Utchi to join the team, not Daigo. It was a pretty darn good final episode, to get back on topic. Sure some things were rushed but it was solid and set up the frame work for 100 Years After. |

Loved it, absolutely loved it. Can't wait for the movies to get subbed and for 100 years after. My Gaburevolver is on its way and I shall dance in their honour! *spins*

I was crying though out the episode not caring it ended up the Daigo Show with the final fight. Just so many emotional scenes. It is sad to see it go but after seeing the passing of the touch I still have hope for ToQuger.

That was awesome. A perfect ending to a perfect show. Chaos being undone by Candi and Lucky was cool, and then it did bring back the line Endolf said about being the most powerful. I think that summed up the best part of this season. There weren't any wasted episodes, everything served a purpose.
Did I like how Daigo went solo against Deboss? No. After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that Daigo was like a speaker for the other Kyoryuger to focus their energy through. Also, who would have thought that the Dinos knew that if they just chilled out in space for a couple days, that it would make for better ending? Now excuse me while I go hug it out with Tobaspino. |
SPOILERS:
I have to say, I kind of feel let down. It was not a bad finale by any means. In fact, it was quite good. The problem is, everyone seemed to be defeated way too easily. The new joy monster was defeated way too quickly. Chaos was then defeated way too quickly, only to have that be his plan, but then he got beat again way too easily. Then Deboss got defeated way too quickly and easily as well by Daigo. In fact, why did Daigo even need the other rangers there? He handled Deboss all on his own. I also did not like that Uchy was just miraculously brought back to life when having him become a spirit ranger would have done just fine. From a story point of view though, it was told well and felt like a conclusion even though it left things open for the future. I am not sure what to think about Luckerio and Candeleria being left alive though, as they really should have sacrificed themselves to defeat Chaos rather than just be given a happy go lucky existence just because they weren't truly evil. The ending does have a DaiRanger feel to it though, as you know there is someone else out there for a future generation to battle, and I'm okay with that because it worked with what the story was going for. It means that this is a battle that may go on for another million years, which is what the whole series was leading towards anyway. Overall, the show was pretty good, one of the better Sentai series of the last 10 years, but it was the weakest of the Dinosaur themes. For all that it did with originality (and there was a lot), Toei played it a little too safe. Yes, we still got a death in the team with Torin, but it feels downplayed when Daigo's father is just able to resume the role of Silver as if it were nothing. Uchy dying and becoming a new spirit ranger would have made for a good send off to the next generation as we have a brand new spirit ranger as the old ones pass on to the afterlife. THe rangers themselves were a very good cast, but it seemed like the writers did not know what to do with Ian and Uchy during the series. There was so much wasted potential with those two when it came to their stories with Aigaron and Dogold, as so much more could have been done with all four characters. Instead, it was featured in like 2-3 episodes during the first half of the show and then never mentioned again until the last few episodes. The best episodes were Nossan's, as he had the best development out of the entire cast, followed by Souji. I understand the show is meant to focus on the red ranger, but Daigo had no flaws, making him an uninteresting character because he was so perfect. Even the best red rangers in the past have had some sort of flaw to help develop their character. It does not matter if it is something as simplistic as Marvelous' wanting to avenge his friend and father figure to Matoi wanting to protect his family to Tatsumi wanting to just be a normal person without his rich parents shaping his life to be what they want to Geki having the death of Burai clouding his mind. Everyone has had some type of flaw except Daigo. This man was just too perfect that the writers put themselves into a corner because there was really nothing to do with him, and having him take out Deboss on his own was proof of this. On the other hand, we got the perfect amount of screen time for the two spirit rangers and seeing them pass on their abilities was well done even if out of the blue. I also thought they did a great job with Yayoi and her grandfather even if she became a useless character in the long run as her love triangle never went anywhere after both her and Amy agreed to see who is best for Daigo's love. In fact, this is another area that could have been used to improve both of the girls' character, but instead, it was more wasted potential. Come to think of it, that was the problem with the show overall, it was wasted potential all around. So much more could have been done with the villains themselves, but after about 20 episodes, they started to get stale and just become your standard Sentai villains. As I said before, a lot more could have been done with Aigaron and Dogold, ESPECIALLY with Dogold being living armor. Instead, it seemed like the writers forgot what they were doing with Dolgold so they suddenly wrote in Endorff to accommodate that issue until the last minute. The mecha was a mixed bag however, with most of them just being way too blocky and there was too much of it. At least the combined form did not look like a cluster****. Overall, I give the show as a whole a 7/10 stars because it did a lot of good. Most of the filler did not feel forced in or like a standard Sentai filler, but when it had bad filler, it was really bad. The ranger cast was great, energetic, and well acted, it's just that more could have been done with half of the team. Daigo was just way too perfect in everything. The villains started out interesting and then became as bland as Dokoku's shipmates in "Shinkenger." It seemed like the writers knew where they were taking the show the entire time, which is nice, I just wish the execution could have been better. Still, it was a good show and would probably fall around my 20th favorite series. |
Another issue that came to mind…
If going back to the Spirit Base restored their power why didn't they just get Bragigas to take them the rest of the way? Or make a pit stop along the way? The finale wasn't bad but it felt kinda rushed. As an ending, it definitely wasn't as shocking or satisfying as Gobuster's conclusion. |

Oh man what an ending! I can say for sure it's the best finale I have ever seen on a Sentai show. I am sorry to see the show ending. All the Kyoryugers share true friendship with one another, and I wish to see them continuing on with their adventures for another 2-3 years. I especially want to see what come of Nossam and Candelira's romance. I want to see an episode where they got married dammit! Here are the Pros and Cons of this show.
Pros: 1) Acting: I have never seen such great acting from a Sentai show. Ever. All the tears felt genuine, and all the joy and sorrow came from the heart. The tears that Amy shed for Daigo in the finale had me close to tears too. She really know how to cry. Nossam's optimism, Souji's naivete, Yayoi's puppy love, Ian's smoothness... they are all so integrated into their character that I cannot see them outside the show without thinking that's who they are. If Nossam shows up in another show as a villain I'd be expecting him to crack a pun joke at any second. :lol 2) Babe factor: Good looking cast all around. I can't help but gawk a bit at Amy and Yayoi's cuteness despite their young age. Ian, Souji, and Daigo aren't bad lookers too, but girls can probably vouch for them better than I do. 3) Action: So many great fight scenes. Wow! [/Amy] 4) Special F/X: Although those Dinosaurs and Mech's look very CGI, but I still like them a lot. The henshin sequence and the special attacks were mind-blowingly good. Love every second of it. 5) Deboss turn good: Love that both Candelira and Luckiroo both turned good in the end and decided to help humans. Dogold died an honorable death was pretty damn awesome too. Cons: 1) Daigo: Now don't get me wrong. Daigo is the epitome of brave and what this show is about. But he's just too PERFECT (or Pafekt like Utchy would say) and his lack of any flaws is what makes him so boring, predictable, and hard to relate to. The finale only reinforces what we already know, that Daigo is practically immaculate and nothing can even harm him. He defeated the end boss, which the whole team couldn't beat even in their Sentai forms, by himself and without going through henshin. Excuse me? I can elaborate further but I am sure you have all heard it from other forum members so I don't want to keep beating the dead horse, but the final boss fight was the worst part of the finale. 2) Daigo getting the girl, Amy: So not only was Daigo was able to beat the supposedly all-powerful end boss by himself sans costume, but he was also able to move Amy enough with the promise of strawberry parfait that she was his by the time the credits roll. I am not happy about it because I thought Souji and Amy would've been a much better fit, and also because Daigo already got everything and now the girl too? Blah. 3) Deboss monsters pretty underwhelming: Aside from the core monsters, none of the other monsters aside from the Ninja was really that good IMO. For them to keep rehashing the already dead monsters didn't help either. I'd still give the show a 9/10. Would've been a perfect 10 if not for the annoyingly perfect Daigo. |
