Thoughts on a Second Great Legend War
 

What would you guys think of a second Great Legend War that unites all of the Super Sentai again? I mean it doesn't have to be in the near future but I'd like to see a second one, primarily to see the Gokaigers, Kyoryugers, Go-Busters, Tokkyugers, and I guess whatever other team after Tokkyuger work with the other Super Sentai against another big invasion like Zangyack.

I think Gokaiger covered it for a while. Gokaiger did the whole Legend War and returning Rangers perfectly, I think reintroducing it so early may cheapen how great an experience Gokaiger was.

If they do do it, I'd say save it for the 50th Anniversary.

Yeah I know I did say not in the near future. But yes the 50th Anniversary would be perfect for a second legend war. But I wonder if Sentai will ever reach that at all.

I'm amazed sentai has lasted as long as it has, honestly, with the way they basically recycle the same show over and over and just redress the windows. But obviously it works.

Hey as long as kids love it, Toei will keep on going.

It's the same with most Japanese franchises, even though some may have had small breaks. Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pretty Cure... everything that works well with the audience.

True that. It's both part of their charm and their worst aspects.

Showa Sentai vs Heisei Sentai feat.Metal Heroes

I think we are likely see 2016 Sentai vs. Super Sentai instead. Another big battle won't happen for a long time.

I actually dont want to see a gathering of this scale anytime in the near future. With Gokaiger and all the Superhero Taisen films I feel kinda exhausted in that regard. I´m perfectly fine with the normal annual VS Movie for the next five to six years or so :lol

I'm waiting for the 40th Sentai so they can do 20 vs 20 Super Sentai Taisen feat. Kamen Rider.

Another thing I am sick of in those movies...heroes fighting the heroes :lol

With Rider I can see some of them fighting each other but especially after Gokaiger I cant see the Super Sentai trying to bash in each others heads without them being mind controlled or dumb plans that could never work (hey Marvelous) :lol

That actually is a pretty great idea.

Superheroes in their originating format (Comic books for Dc and marvel, TV and Movies for Rider and Sentai) are in this odd period right now where there's a lot of hero vs hero universe events going on. Marvel and DC have had this going on since 2007 and DC is getting past it thanks to the DC universe reboot but that trend has now awkwardly come into Toei's tokustatsu universe.

I imagine a mini Legend War in a Super Hero Taisen movie for the 40th anniversary will happen and maybe a full fledged one for the 50th or 60th anniversary series

Yeah Marvel good away from that too with their last events. Its fun if you see the Heroes VS Heroes thing for the first time but it gets really old really fast.
Especially when the explanation why it happened is completely dumb like in Superhero Taisen.

I just hope the Gorangers are still alive for one.

I hope so too but then again with the first Legend War, only a few of the original actors actually returned to voice their characters, it was mostly the suits.

Unfortanetly we can never get the full set of Gorangers back. Ki Ranger died years ago after he commited suicide.

Yep he killed himself a year after Goranger ended.

I've been thinking about this, and have way to make it work.

Showa Verses Heisei: Red Battle!

Wouldnt that be pretty unfair? :lol

There are more Reds in the Heisei Era than in the Showa era of Super Sentai.

Maybe you choose Heisei's greatest hits just to make it fair.

And even though he is not official I want Akiba Red in this as well just so he could be the one that tries to stop them from fighting but cant because he is such a big fanboy that he wants to see who would win :lol

And their looks at him when he powers up and he's being molested by a girl.

you i actually wonder what will we get for the 5oth anniversary? we may have some time to go until then but it will have to have a even stronger tribute to super sentai then gokaiger did(yes somthing bigger then using the previos powers and tribute mecha)

Actually now that I think about it, the ones in the Showa Era actually have upgraded Super Form(ex. Dekaranger SWAT Mode, Super Shinkengers, Super Goseigers, etc.) compared to the heisei era ones. That could potentially even up things a bit.

I think you might be mixing up Showa and Heisei.

Heisei are the current day characters. Showa are the older ones.
Showa doesn't have a chance, with fewer numbers and weaker powers.

Just to clarify, the Showa-Era was from December 1926 to January 1989, so Liveman was the last Showa-Sentai and Turboranger the first Heisei Sentai... So 12 Showa Teams against (current status) 26 Heisei-Teams... I'm afraid this looks bad for Showa already, so the Heisei-Upgrades don't matter anyway xD We could have an Goranger-Ohranger vs. Carranger-Toqger, to even that out, but that wouldn't make sense. And then, the Heisei upgrades would matter, so... looks bad for Team Goranger-Ohranger...

But actually, I don't see the point in Sentai vs. Sentai, at least with such a huge group. I already thought Showa vs Heisei Riders was bullshit, so as for Sentai: Nope, thanks.

I think it will be cool if around its 50th anniversary the kids of Pre-Gokaiger sentai heroes were the chosen 5+ rangers. Gai/Gokaisilver can be the mentor.

You have a point about that Suzu. What I really want to see is a big villain like Zangyack invade the Earth which forces the Super Sentai to gather again to counter such a threat. And maybe just keep their powers as well(as much as I love Gokaiger, a V2 of it would not work) but at least see the Sentai working together. Personally I just want to see the Gokaigers and Kyoryugers back in action again because they are part of my top 5 teams.

I highly doubt a second Legend War will happen. Besides, I get the feeling the 40th Super Sentai series will probably be a little more low-key than what Gokaiger was.

What I really want to see, though, is all the Sentai Reds teaming up, similar to Forever Red from Power Rangers Wild Force.
