Has anyone else had a fishy experience with Yokatta?
I was told February 1st that my order would be shipped out in 5 business days...it's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't received any update on the item whatsoever. I sent out an email on Wednesday asking if they shipped it out. Still waiting on a response.
Since they request payments be sent as a gift I could get totally hosed here.. |
No clue but my suspicion is that ur suspicion is correct...2 reasons to ask money to be sent as a gift...1). So no. Fees come out of the money and two, so there is no record of an exchange being agreed upon....in otherwords screwing u over
|
Yokatta is a refutable service, others have used it before. Perhaps they just had too many orders and had to delay shipping
|
Hmm....that's odd. Though, I've only ordered from them once or twice. And they do that because of the fees. If you want the buyer protection you need to send a bit more to cover that.
But there shouldn't be a problem, could just be a lapse, or they forgot or something. Hope it works out. |
i have dealt with them for years i never had a problem, sometimes you have to contact them because they are busy and sometimes it might a delay in shipping because of the major snow storms we are having. you will get a response back.
|
I don't have experience with yokatta but I do know Tokyo was hit with quite a lot of snow and the 11th was a national holiday which may have delayed any contact with you.
|
I've also used them for years and have never had an issue. You do have to remind them sometimes and it takes days to get an email back but I've always gotten an answer and everything I ordered. :-)
|
Okay guys thanks I'll wait a little bit longer I guess :)
You just get a bit paranoid when you spend over $100 on something and you don't know where it is after a couple of weeks. It's not so much the waiting I mind, as long as I do get the item in hand. BTW, do you know if they're active, or at least reply to e-mails during the weekend or will I have to wait until Monday for a response? |

That said, while there may have been snow storms in the last few days in Japan, there is no excuse for it not having been shipped by the 7th if you were told five business days. That's just ridiculous. Hopefully you can file a claim, because I would, trustworthy or not there is no reason for taking two weeks to ship, because now, BECAUSE of snow storms, it's going to take even longer. |

If it's been over a week since they said it would be shipped out now, the better option is to just email them asking for an update, don't jump straight to the pitchforks unless they continue to ignore you (which is very unlikely). |

One guy or fifty, asking for payments as a gift is extremely crappy and untrustworthy for any kind of business. I'd be sweating too.

But above all, I just wish there was some way to view the status of an item on their website or something and that's kinda why I don't like how I have to constantly email them to find out any info whatsoever right now. Right now, I don't know what happened to it. It can literally be anything from they've been held back by snow, to them shipping it out and forgetting to tell me, to them completely forgetting about my item, to (god forbid) they lost it and are hesitant to tell me, or (god forbid even more) my item never actually came in and I'm just throwing money at them. I almost 100% believe it's not the last scenario but the whole thing is...I can't exactly say for certain. It just sucks because I paid EMS shipping, and it's like paying SAL with any other business because at the end of the day, I still won't receive my item for 3-4 weeks after I paid shipping anyway. |

For the past ten years or better, I've sold things on eBay, elsewhere on the internet, and I have helped my parents with their own eBay sales. There is not a circumstance in the entire WORLD, barring your own death, that should prevent you from shipping (or responding to e-mails) in SEVEN business days. I'm sorry man, no matter how many people you are, there's no excuse for piss poor service. As far as the bolded goes... oh boo hoo! Whatever shall we do without them? Oh wait, there's several other, better proxy services. Damn, Yokatta got mad and ran away. Heartbreak. |
Okay Yokatta got back to me and told me it was already shipped out last week...in fact it's already in the U.S.
Weird, but I'm not complaining. |
Honestly, before I even got to the point of paying anything, the extremely slow (and half-assed) responses I got from my inquiries told me to stay away. Perhaps they DO come through in the end, but I don't want to have to chase someone to give them my business.

Every step of the way, I was given some sort of maximum time as to when I should expect a response and they've failed to meet the deadlines A LOT. Now my situation may or may not have been one in which they failed to ship out the item in time, but they sure as hell failed to get back to me within the time they said so I spent all of last week worried and, honestly, when it comes to business, I just prefer it to be as smooth as possible. I won't say I'm going to write them off completely because who knows what will happen in the future, and I can at least feel secure knowing that my item IS coming to me, but I will be hesitant. |
